Umpire raising his hand and then realizing it would miss 2 more sets on top is why i love club cricket
It can be such a cruel game sometimes, but that's what we love about it. It keeps you humble.
That century was something else. He looked so, so ordinary at times and then bang! the ball in his slot would just be dispatched. That's the mark of a quality batsman who can get beaten & beaten but then put away a bad ball (sometimes not even a bad ball) without going into his shell.
I remember an opener being dropped at slip, first ball, many years ago. Absolutely dolly. Went on to make 120. Bats like that are mostly out for 0 but can get a big score when their eye is in.
When you do have one of those eye in batters in place then just rotate the bowling constantly. 1 over spells.
You are doing the Kings work putting yourself through these games at the moment Pecky.
JWomb was summat else, Sass. Quality knock - hits them crispier than an air-fried chip.
I bloody love doing this! Want to see the boys enjoying it again - not had a run like this for yonks, and certainly not in the YT era.
Nice to see Viewer (plural) give an elaborate fish tank about the whole thing. We’re desperate to turn it around.
think that lad Womble is rarely out for 0 ! Looked a class above anything so far have seen in the games this season.
Issue with the 1 over spells is they tried that with Henry who went for 14 in the over !
Sometimes all the effort adds up to elaborate fishtank all. The first ten overs looked like the openers rode their luck and the guys bowled well...
Is Jimmy Nixon surviving as a soldier of fortune in the LA underground, Mr Peck? His dulcet tones alongside yours often lend a lift.
Nothing wrong with NW's bowling, sometimes you meet batters in supreme form. If it's any consolation Three Bridges (a good side) conceded over 300 last week!
Good to see Cal back bowling. Good to have a frontline spinner again. Although Tongy has been looking very good!
Rather than point out failings I'd rather highlight that Clumber Park's youth system appears to be bringing along some good new talent and hopefully Wheatley's seconds will produce players in the years to come.
Not sure the league mandate for having a go at NWLCC's bowling attack but it appears you're playing gun bats week in, week out and rather than let Jonno et al settle they're having a go and putting pressure back on Wheatley.
Only way you're beating that is skittling teams or batting first and putting enough on the board to make the opposition rethink.
I have to commend Connor for his steadfast refusal to bowl anything other than into the wicket during the dampest UK spring for decades. Funny thing is that quicker bowl works, sadly it's usually a few (hundred) runs too late. Can thank the window cleaning lady for that one.
Looks like it might be a long season for Wheatley. Hopefully some good fortune will come soon.
Unlucky lads. Keep going, there were definitely some half chances that will go to hand and stick on another day.
Keep going boys. Thanks again for the content. Is jonno the angriest looking man in village cricket?? I’m sure he’s probably a lovely bloke but he scares the bejesus out of me 😂
Ta, Vickers! Jono loves the club and that occasionally may manifest itself in a brooding, bordering on menacing, demeanour on the field. Someone you want on your side! Off it, Jono is mild mannered and effortlessly funny, I can assure you
He is the first player to ever apologise to me for the standard of the performance too (after this game)!
Can’t beat a close, nail biting game of cricket. Shame this wasn’t one!
Wheatley's bowling seems to getting mullered this season, meaning almost impossible totals to get. Strange thing is that most of these teams you played last year too. Confidence is an amazing thing, so lets hope that next win comes very soon
Some of these umpire decisions are diabolical Conner has had 3 shockers this season
@@leejones7587fair comment. But then if you survived a chance like that you can’t be too upset if it goes the other way either. Bowler would’ve felt the exact same way the ball before.
Ah yes the age old umpiring... Make a mistake then to correct it make another mistake 😂 unlucky Mr Meistre
Sometimes the luck just goes the other way at crucial times - your opening bowling spell should have wrecked their top order...but alas it didnt. There is always next week :)
Sometimes you get on runs like this our sunday side is currently im sure it will turn round
Love the channel, it’s fantastic! Would be great if the result isn’t given away in the headline title though!
Cheers Tedders. Whilst I appreciate your point, I have managed to uniquely name each match from the last three-and-a-bit seasons and somehow have not been showered with awards and praise. Where’s MY ticker tape parade?
29:39 Woman sarcastically waving off Postlethwaite. No need!
She’s ALWAYS hated Pos. She was waiting for the perfect moment to deploy the sarky wave and took the opportunity. Savage.
Great Uncle Bulgaria would be proud. Not convinced so far by your overseas signing - too many short balls amongst the gems, and his batting seems as if he hasn't really got to grips with seaming/swinging English conditions. Still, the only way is up (until it isn't).
Was there a happy hour at 5 in the bar??
Surely "Wombled" may have been in the running for the video title ?
One of the better innings think will seee on thr channel this year, hit the ball and timed it perfectly, suspect he has played higher level in previous years.
He was really rather good. One of the better knocks I’ve seen against us full stop
Did the import snick one and get away with it and then complain when he was given? Swings and roundabouts!
Hollow tine the square, put the Surrey loam down and pull the shutters down on the club house. Best I can suggest for this season for NWLCC. Sorry guys.
The bleakness. Come on, Jimbo, we’re only 6 match days in. Hope springs, if not eternal, then fleetingly!
Oh elaborate fishtank
I don't know what to say. Trying to find some positives with Wheatley is difficult. Come on guys!
Oh dear, 3 village cricket teams i regularly watch all seem to be copping a towelling...nevermind things will get better tough time don't last tough teams do!
@NWLCC id say the ground conditions are Mildly Moist
Your missing a good strike bowler, need that pro back you had 2 seasons ago
yeh the seam department looks very similar with the right arm over seamers being all a bit "samey" and no consistency on kine and length, thenToby I don't think would get a big bag of wickets, seems in the showings so far very very wayward one absolute ripper followed up by some real buffet stuff.
@@viewfield5 Totally agree, all quite mediocre with no real pace to challenge a good top order bat, they really lack that extra yard or 2 pace to quickly take a few early wickets, with a hope of keeping the totals at a reasonable number to take on with there current batting lineup. Seems to be showing so far this season, hope things pick up and the lads start taking some early wickets with more consistency
Reasonable bowling effort
Dreadful batting effort
Shocking umpiring effort
sad season so far!
What a shocking umpire. I’m sorry, but you cannot give competent LBWs in a split second. That and making up for a terrible decision (caught behind) by giving another terrible decision. Horrid.
some of these are being given out when the ball is half way down the wicket! Obviously if camera not in line u can't say as a viewer, but I would love to have been bowling with this level of umpiring, batting not so much certainly would be getting bat on everything thought that might not be enough for some of these umps!
Jonno seems to have lost a yard of pace and the batting 🤯 It’s like nobody wants to play proper cricket and just want to pummel every ball out the ground
Terrible batting performance
Underground, overground opposition run free.
The Wombles of Wheatley, carnage are we.
