Ford once again sounds a wake-up call for sports car lovers around the world with the introduction of the all-new Ford Mustang. The seventh generation is the most exhilarating and visceral yet, from its fighter jet-inspired digital cockpit to new advanced turbocharged and naturally aspirated engines to its edgier yet timeless exterior design. Along with the familiar EcoBoost and Coyote V8-Powered GT models, we also saw a new, higher-performance oriented Dark Horse version and the ultimate Track Day-oriented $300,000 GTD (Grand Touring Daytona) version.
Since the demise of the Camaro for the end of the 2024 model year, the Mustang will retain its title as longest-running American pony-car, in continuous production from 1964-present across 7 generations.
Despite the enormous amount of changes to the new Mustang, it is not, in fact, a ground-up total redesign, so several components are carryover from the previous generation. That being said, I will side with what Car and Driver Magazine said regarding the new Mustang; “A rear-drive, three-pedal, four-seat, V-8 pony car that's new and big of heart, attainable, at home in commute or canyon, and more than the sum of its parts. Yes, please-forever, all day long. Sign us up.”
Our Mustang was produced at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Dearborn, Michigan on June 19, 2023.
