I heard this hats immigrated to Afghanistan with the macedonian troops of Alexander the great. That's why it called Hunza cap. The hunzas were left over macedonian soldiers. Is that right?
Dear Philip. First, thank you for watching our video and your comment. As for the origin of Pakol is concerned our studies and research has been proved that it has been originated from Chitral, the then part of Afghanistan. The region has been divided under an agreement with Afghanistan by the British. The division line called Durand Lune. The current shape/s has been evolved over the span of many decades. There many theories but it has been certain that the pakol has been originated from Chitral
