They had a first round finals exit to play for. They did the right thing by allowing Dolphins to make the 8 because the Dolphins will win the premiership.
@@delailama736 The broncos lost the finals 3 months ago when they lost to the Dargons at home on a saturday night.
Sunday will be a cracker - I'm looking forward to both games. That said, whether Knights leapfrog the Dolphins or the Peninsula gets it's fairytale ending, I doubt that either will make it to a Preliminary Final in Week 3. The physical and mental toll on players forced to play sudden death football for weeks on end is enormous, especially as they are expected to go up a gear with each game. If any team outside the top 4 wins the Premiership, they will be updating the record books, The Broncs did it from 5th in '93 and the Bulldogs from 6th in '95 - almost 30 years. Good luck to both teams.
Tbh I'd say if anyone wins it outside the 4 its manly, they seem to play good against top sides
@@Aussieewonder agreed. Joey and many of the other gurus are saying the same thing about the Bulldogs. Whoever it is, imagine them battling their way to a preliminary final only to face a full strength Storm or Panthers side : it's a huge ask. I guess we will find out soon enough.

Since rd 7, the knights haven't even been inside the bottom 4, they carrying on like we were coming last all season.

I just hate that Newcastle Jumper its not even their colours, I thought it was the Tigers, get rid of it FFS and use their normal jumper...... and it should be the "Redcliffe Dolphins" always was and always will be.
Build a bridge & get over it. Knights were brought into the comp back in '88. Not Redcliffe.

@@shortybond7546 I brought up the issue. Because, if the Redcliffe Dolphins were introduced in the same year as Newcastle, the Knights may have been asked to use different colours. Tbh, when the Broncos were setting up to enter the competition in the same year as Newcastle, Broncos actually wanted to use red & blue. But, at the time, NSWRL chairman, Ken Arthurson, granted the colours to Newcastle. Newcastle's original colours that they used between 1908-10, were the same colours as St George. And with the NRL team using the Redcliffe name, I think that it was actually Redcliffe asked the NRL team for them not to use the name of Redcliffe.

I am one of those that hate changing jumpers, I loved the old jumpers I thought they were great, they drove me nuts when they went all modern a few years back. I still dont like some of the strips the clubs come up with every now and then. Stuck in Perth we never got much coverage in the 80/90s on what went on with clubs new and old. It was all AFL So that's all cleared up. Here endith the lesson. Cheers
