After I watched your video about Haskins, I watched what was going on in Washington and there were two key things that stood out: 1. Haskins is nowhere near being an NFL-level starting quarterback. Now, I'm not saying that he can't become that, and it's possible that with the right people around him and the right coaching staff, he could have played better than he has so far. But the reality is that in the NFL, you don't get that luxury. I'm absolutely positive that there have probably been players who could have achieved high levels of success had all the stars perfectly aligned, but instead exited the league as fast as they entered due to the situation they were placed in. That's part of the deal when becoming an NFL player. That's why it's so important to save every penny until that second contract arrives. Could Haskins improve enough to be a reliable backup option? I'm not sure, but his attitude seems to indicate that he's not willing to put in the work it would require. 2. It's pretty clear that Haskins was not Ron Rivera's "guy." Haskins was essentially drafted without input from Rivera, who took over head coaching responsibility this year, and I think from the start Rivera didn't want to build a team around him. Whether that's fair to Haskins or not, it happens to rookies quite often, and again, that's part of the deal. What was absolutely clear was that when reports of his antics came out (bragging about his performance in a losing game and blaming other players), Rivera had had enough. Once Haskins was benched, it was crystal clear to me that he would be cut after the end of the season. Only Rivera didn't wait that long. I don't think I'd like Haskins if I knew him personally, as he seems rather cocky and is definitely foolish with his money. That said, I don't care about that at all from a football perspective and I wish him the best of luck. I hope he can improve his skills and at least spend some time in the league earning money as a backup. But I think he's destined to become the modern example for professional athletes who go broke.
Crazy how the athletes that spent their first million wisely turn out to be the hardest working athletes in their genre & end up being the most successful. Dude has had great years since that injury happened and was one of the best RBs over the last couple seasons. Worth every penny they paid for him & hopefully he’ll get another decent extension
Imagine a dude coming on here and saying “I hired a financial advisor, and invested the rest. I’m living off the interest. That’s how I spent my first million!”

I don't believe this guy is a pro athlete. Or a millennial. Austin Ekeler has more financial moxie than a lot of 40-something financial planners! ! This is a guy everyone should be looking up to - totally switched on, setting himself up for success & enjoying life at the same time. A brilliant example of how to have your cake & eat it too - without being taken for a sucker by every jeweller, car dealer and nightclub owner who's your best friend right up until your credit card gets declined. Fake gurus take note too - doing 1-handed chin-ups while actually READING a book, managing your growing property portfolio and owning a 2020 Stingray is a legit flex. It blows me away that so many can squander so much money. Just $1m invested properly can set you up to live very comfortably indefinitely. But maybe I can say that only because I don't have lavish taste. The most expensive thing I've ever wanted besides investment property is a Tesla Cybertruck(the $39,000 trim)
Now my plan once I'm in the league is to buy a used car a small house under 100k or an apartment then spend 25 thousand on all the things I want or need like necklace ect so that leaves out my million if I buy a used car for 20 - 30 k would be 155 total and then give a mil to my grandma because she has helped me
