    I'm a stone cold unbeliever; however, I have to thank you for your videos. The UA-cam "faith-tech" community's generosity has made it possible for me to figure out multiple audio tracks in Abelton Live and a lot of midi control nonsense for the tribute bands I'm in. It doesn't make me any more religious, but I have a warm place in my heathen heart for the tech staff at churches. Thanks Again!!

      You sir have had an experience with Jesus through their videos. They don't do this because of their own desire to share. That's literally Jesus through them. Being a believer isn't about being religious, it's about a friendship with your Creator.

    What you should do in order to lessen signal dropout is to use a better access point for your router because normally the antennas in those routers even in the high end ones are not fully capable of streaming to multiple clients with QoS and low dropouts therefore for a whole setup with a band you should have a separate router with QoS capability. In my case i have a ubiquiti edge router that assigns the ip address to the iphones and manages them quickly enough but doesnt waste its cpu resources in wireless processing as that is handled by a separate wireless acces point (ubiquiti AP pro nano) that runs multiple clients and at a much higher bandwidth(1300mps) this allows for a) being able to have the router in one location with multiple Access points deployed on stage so there is no dead zones or weak signal areas that a traditional router may encounter and then b) I am able to hang those access points on stands minimizing 5ghz dropouts that are caused by simply blocking the device from the routers antenna as 5ghz signal is much more faster but easier to disrupt than traditional 2.4ghz which is slower but can bounce and travel around walls, objects, humans, etc. To put it simply a traditional router from best buy does the roles that a network has 1)routing 2) ethernet switching 3)wireless accespoint and while it does a good enough job it is not a master at any of them. I can say that for a full band setup in the future you should use a dedicated router and dedicated acces points to have the best wireless coverage and signal the only limitation/ bottleneck here would be the iphones antenna and sorry for the long comment but i am a sound guy and a network nerd and just wanted to give my idea that works with my band to help out others too.

    • @aeiplanner
      @aeiplanner 5 років тому +2

      @@vf_goldkmphogina9570 That's not difficult. CAT-5 is the most widely used quality of cable mostly due to it's value. It can be ran up to 100 meters = 328 Feet without signal loss/quality. CAT-6 isn't much more expensive and is slightly better isolated from any interference. In either case your communication protocol is the same, just the quality of cable that's different. You would plug one end of that CAT-5 or CAT-6 ethernet cable into the Mac/PC where you're running the software, and run it all the way to the stage (you can run it overhead, or along with the normal snake that you'd run from your console - doesn't matter much). Plug the other end into your wireless access point which you would keep on stage and all of your musicians and singers who are using the system are in much closer proximity to the wifi access point, so the signal doesn't have to travel very far. This is far more reliable than keeping a fancy router with powerful antennas next to your console/pc way in the back. Because between you and that console you have a crowd of people who are presumably using wireless devices.

    To the latency topic: You can't notice the latency, if you only listen to the signals coming from the same (maybe delayed) source...
    You should compare the signal of the iPhone to the signal from your bodypack to see, if there is any latency

    I’m hoping to get a quick response from you. We just got 3 performers up and running for a test run of this system. I am wondering if you first noticed that the quality of sound was a little more “digitized” than normally used to. That’s the best way I can explain my result so far. It almost sounds like a doubler effect is on each channel through this IEM system. What has been your experience so far? Otherwise, we love it. We even set up a room mic and the ambience gives so much more feel back to the IEMs.

    With it coming over wi-fi, I wouldn't expect there to be latency, as long as there's enough bandwidth in the wi-fi to handle all of the devices. There should probably be a separate wi-fi router for AV than for everything else or you could have so many devices connected to the network that it couldn't keep up.

      @@Churchfront The problem with this is that it's so dependent on so many things. In the future, if this company does release the android app they will get a lot of 'hate' from people with cheap android phones where this won't work because the 5ghz WiFi signal is lacking. The same will happen when mixers will implement this functionality. People will not read the manual and think: "this 50$ wifi router will be good enough" and will have a bad experience.
      I like that this is working for you and I'm curious for the future development. As a WiFi expert (pro WiFi in the enterprise) I'm curious how this will work with multiple connected devices. With the current standard (802.11 AC) there can only be one device "talking" through a WiFi channel at the same time because of interference (which thus adds latency when more devices are connected to that one network). Also the traffic is only possible in one direction (half duplex). With the coming standard (802.11 AX), that issue will be resolved. BUT it only works when EVERY connected device supports 802.11 AX, otherwise it will fall back and have added latency.

      What type of router are you running? Did you also select the optimal channel and change the width to 40hz on the router? The only other thing I can think of is maybe there is a ton of interference at your church? I know at my office there are dozens of wifi networks, so maybe it was just harder to find a clean one there and would never be perfect. But at the school we meet at there are not nearly as many.

    • @jonburton3517
      @jonburton3517 6 років тому

      I use the same Linksys 5400 that you guys use. There are a good amount of wireless signals running off of the 2.4GHz band but pretty much nothing else on the 5GHz band. Right now I have it set at 80hz but I’ll change it to 40 to see if that helps. Hopefully it works. I love this system and I really want it to be successful! But if the pops and stuff don’t go away idk what I’m gonna do. Brandon from Audiofusion came up to my church to try and troubleshoot but he didn’t find any reason for it either... just gonna keep tweaking things till it works I guess lol.

    • @Churchfront
      @Churchfront  6 років тому

      @@jonburton3517 I saw a HUGE difference by narrowing the frequency to 40hz. I bet that would help. It's not 100% perfect but 99.9% there.

    Jake have you tried singing and or talking in to your mic while the channel is soloed? I just cant get the Latency low enough. In the mix its not as noticeable but when by itself it sounds as if there is a chorus Effect put on my voice and I am not sure what or how to combat that. In the mix with Ableton running it was not noticeable but when soloed by itself it shows up , Sound is so clean and really want to move forward with it just not sure about the Latency issues.

    • @Churchfront
      @Churchfront  5 років тому +1

      Yeah, the latency is definitely noticeable when it's just me and I do know what you mean about the chorus effect, but the upside of the clarity of the mix totally outweighs that minimal latency.

    Hi Jake
    Thanks for all the great work you are doing.
    This looks like a great idea to expand our monitor system. We are using the Yamaha TF5 console and are using all it outputs already between monitor mixes, parents room and an induction loop.
    Do you have any idea how to set up the Audifusion with the Yamaha? Especially grouping channels together like you did with your drum channels. If you know or hear of anybody using a Yamaha digital mixer I would love to speak to them about this.

    • @Churchfront
      @Churchfront  6 років тому

      Thanks Eugene! My guess is you should be able to replicate this setup on Yamaha. If you can make a subgroup mix with your drums and then route that mix out the digital sound card, it should work great.

    4 years ago I was a stone cold atheist. My wife is a believer although she really never had a relationship with Jesus. That’s really the idea. Anyway , I decided that I would talk to God everyday and truly seek the truth. Regardless what the truth is I want to know. By the way, believing in evolution takes way more faith. My journey took about 2 years. I now have a rock solid relationship with Jesus and can’t believe just how stupid I had been. The Bible actually makes sense to me now when I read it. If you truly examine all the evidence and look at everything with an open mind you can only conclude one thing. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. I remember as an atheist thinking that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of. I now know and understand there was no other way. Tears still come to my eyes every time I talk about it including now.

      I used to be a Christian, following His word with full compliance, but I finally found that Scientology was the real answer. Evolution is clearly a distraction made by Satan to make lots of money, and when I first heard Metatron's voice instructing me to follow Jesus I wasn't sure it was real, but I went along anyway. Long story short, learning about Lord Xenu from the teachings of L. Ron Hubbard has set me on a path, and now I feel so stupid for having been a Christian. Blessings to the messiah L. Ron Hubbard. Lord Xenu loves you, and wishes everyone peace.
