It's in a book, the Los Angeles BB murder cases, Yes, he was burned badly, but he lived and was put in prison, where he died of a heart attack. Light could've easily found out about him from hacking the prison and he had a reason to because he is connected to Naomi. Case closed.

Its interesting how the gothic “B” font has the gothic “L” within it too. Its clever that the author incorporated that, as B is L’s Backup and made to be a second L. It’s incredibly fitting.

When Naomi and L tried to figure out who the murderer was, BB decided to commit suicide so that L fails to solve the case and thus loses to BB. But at last he was caught committing by Naomi herself, forget L.
I always thought of Mello writing it in between L's death and his death, when he was in that super-secret underground bunker place. Perhaps he was doing something like foreshadowing. I mean, he had to have known he would die sometime, and with all the Kira madness, he probably thought he'd die soon, and "like a dog." Hence, the whole last few sentences of that chapter.
L and B are the exact definitions of yin and yang. While L is good, he's not completely good, he will and does break the law to get his way, he also cheats and uses people. And while B is evil, he's not completely evil, as he only kills people to get L to challenge him. He only wants to be better than L, not rule the world or destroy humanity.

i've thought of this too. while light would probably seek his aid BB would, wishing to pass L, try to kill him before L could. He would, like L, surmise he is Kira. the fact that he'd be unable to read his death would confirm it. while L needs the law beside him to fully punish kira, BB would gladly kill him if he escaped...he'd even make a game of it.

I have a question that's been bothering me since I began reading Another Note. Mello is narrating, but where is he while he is narrating? In the beginning, he says that he'll probably be dead by the time people find his book, but at the end of that very same chapter he says he "died like a dog." Is he writing while he's dead or alive?
@CripShat27 well the fact that Mello was in the middle of getting himself killed considering that this is a case dealing with a serial killer who could kill you so easily with a name and face and him being one of the main targets this only is common sense that something bad will happen to him and that is most likely death
