Very cool project and great idea Tomislav. Really like the design you came up with for this and the angular sides as well as the stacking approach. These videos are really instructive and fun to watch. Thanks to all of you for the time put into making them. Yours is the third of the four I've watched (I'm way behind on these). Will finish up watching Sam's video.
Hi Tomislav, Loved this project and that you got the inspiration from your child's toy. I enjoy the four ways concept. It's a great idea. I also enjoyed reading your profile in the woodturning magazine (issue 403) last month too. Thanks Ciaran
That is art. And functional, too. What a fantastic design, Tomislav. The average person wouldn't come up with something that complex and well completed. Very good work!
I have not seen such a unique set with useful features in form and function, Tomislav. I have been following your work for over a year now. I have definitely picked up many finer tips and tricks in many aspects of woodturning across tools and techniques. You deserve many more views and followers
Very nice! I might steal that design and perhaps personalize it. I see so many turners on YT using a gouge for almost everything. Kudos to them. In my experience, I've had catches with a gouge, and while I still use a bowl gouge quite a bit, I use a scraper quite a bit more than most. It cuts nicely (not really scraping, as I would define it) and I almost never get a catch! (much like my angling abilities. ha ha!). Anyhow, I'm encouraged to see that a turner as experienced as yourself, also leans fairly heavily on a sharp scraper. May 2025 be a prosperous one in every way for you Tomislav!
To my knowledge, a lot if pro turners use scrapers and its great tool. The important thing is that you find your way and that you like it. All the best to you as well in 2025
Another awesome project. I want to wish you a great new year, and thank you for your inspiration and teachings as I grow in my turning journey. Thank you and blessings to you and your family!
Happy new year to you and your family. I hope we will have a lot of turning videos from you in 2025!. And this time, out of the four projects from the other 3 gentlemen, you have my favorite one!
All the best for 2025. An interesting design, I had just seen Richard’s and this is a very interesting alternative. It does make me think about alternatives more so thank you. The stacked tenons is a great idea.
Thank you Bert, all the best to you and your family as well This is video in how I sign my work ua-cam.com/video/Ywm9XHBiMK0/v-deo.htmlsi=-V99fgMkHh9m0GXz
I think your wife should get it for jewelry and make another one for your son if he wants one. Cool design. Will go and watch the other’s turnings now.
Its just a name to be easier distinguished from other lineup I plan to have. Its scraper by nature and what is different is the shape and angle and notch for shear scraping into details.
Happy New Year Tomislav. Great project, beautifully done. I have a question on your screw chuck. How do you decide how much of the screw is need for any project. I guess the depth of the wood will dictate it a bit, but is there a formula for how much of it you use?
Hi sir All the best to you and your family in 2025 🎉 I don't use formulas at all , wood thickness is a factor, but also what you will do on the side where the hole is. If its a plate, then I can't use all the screw as it will probably be too deep, but also if I use all the screw ,sometimes it's really hard to get it of. If you use bigger backing plate, then screw can be 10mm deep, usually I always have it around 12mm, that is deep enough and holds great and easy to take it of later. I had have a hold by just one or 2 threads ,barely few milimetars for specific job.
@@tomislavtomasicwoodturning Thanks Tomislav, that is very helpful. I know what you mean about it being hard to get off! Happy New Year to you as well. Have a great 2025 and keep making the videos, I always look forward to seeing them.
Hi Rachel For now shop is closed until I send out second batch which should arrive in next few weeks, that is all sold out but I do plan to launch pre-order and that way many more turners will have opportunity to grab a refiner. I plan to launch pre-order somewhere in February, depending when the batch will arrive. Thanks for understanding and watching my videos and supporting my work 😊
Very interesting. How cold is your shop? Still above freezing? Not sure where you are in Croatia so I could look up your weather. We had a couple of days above freezing but I wasn’t able to get out to the barn despite my good intentions. Also just wanted to confirm the sizes of the scrapers you are using here, I’m estimating the square end is 12mm (½”), bowl 19 (3/4”, less sure on this one), and the Refiner we know is 1”. All are about ¼” 6mm, or is it 8mm thick?
Just a bit over freezing , I don't mind the cold as much as ultra heat during summer. You have guessed all dimensions correctly and all scrapers in this video are 6mm thick. I think Crown doesn't use 8mm as that could be great alternative but for this application 6mm is good enough. Thank you buddy for watching and comment 😀
@@tomislavtomasicwoodturning it looks like you have somewhat warmer temperatures than we do, more so in the winter. And are actually slightly further north than me just south of Ottawa, Canada. Always interesting to compare locations. Thanks for confirming the scraper sizes.
A great project that should spark a heap of variations.
Definitely a project to adapt!
Thanks Richard 😊
Tomislav we love these 4way videos it is a great concept thanks SO MUCH for your contribution to us mere mortals :) thanks so much.
Thank you soo much for kind words 😊

You got ambitious for sure, Tom! Didn't know when to stop, eh? Great project!
Tomislav, these 4 way videos are excellent content, I throughly enjoy these ! Please keep them coming!!
Thank you for supporting what we do.
I just like that they stack so neatly, another useful project!

Very nice, a great design, off to see the other three.
This was a fun project and enjoyable to watch. I seen Sam Angelo's I call it a tie!
Nice job and a good use of small peace of wood
A wonderful project. Also could be used for chocolates. Many thanks for another fine video!
I like chocolates, hmm I might make one for us for just that purpose 😀
As usual really great project, nice and clear explanation
Thank you!
I thought it was a toy when I saw the thumbnail. It is a brilliant idea for spices. Or bead making projects.
A lovely piece. Love it. Thanks for sharing. Now , on to watching the other guys.
An absolutely beautiful stacked box. An amazing design that is perfectly executed. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you my friend
WOW Tomislav, this is a brilliantly done project!! And the outcome is stunning. This is something I must try. Thanks for sharing! 👍🏾

Ooh now im in love with this design - but my skillset is not anywhere near there to make a couple for my bedside tables 🤔
Its not that difficult it's just time consuming but it relatively straightforward ☺️ one step at the time
Cool idea tomislav well done mate, something I'll have to try,
Cheers from Will 👍 😊
Hope I'll see your version on video as well☺️
Hi Tomislav. I was wondering what you use to sign your pieces? Happy and Prosperous 2025 to you and your family.

Nice project. How does your refiner differ from any scraper?

Big city! I think I remember you saying you live at the edge of the city. That was before your recent move. Are you still near the countryside?
@dagwood1327 just a couple of minutes away, still in countryside, basically in forest☺️☺️

If you rounded the outside edges, it would look like a bee hive.
Indeed, that is why I didn't wanna go that route, I wanted something a tiny bit different ☺️
