She is right about the importance of choosing the right neighborhood when you come abroad. The neighborhood will determine the school, the people they will interact with, etc. Of course some kids make it no matter where they grow up but it’s better to not take that chance. This also includes not choosing areas where your child is one of very few black children. Basically, find a place that doesn’t have extremes. These things are important to consider.
My first time of hearing so much wisdom and articulation from a Ghanaian woman. From start to finish ...she nailed everything . 👌🏿 you have earned my respect. Calling a spade a spade ..... respect from Düsseldorf- Germany 🇩🇪
Wow! This lady's confidence swept me off my feet. We need to instill such level of confidence in today's youth. Aside her confidence, she is smart, learned, deep, straighforward and experienced. She is right on ambition. If you want to succeed, align your ambition with that of your partners. Surprisingly, most African men shy away from ambitious women. Brothers, let's learn to support our partners to achieve their ambition. Woman do likewise. If your partner wants to climb the academic ladder, lend support. If they aspire to head their companies, give them the push and help them with your connects. Let's manage ambition. It should not become unhealthy competition, envy or jealousy. Lets support.
This lady is very intelligent I support everything she is saying I live in Toronto and all what she is saying is true. I like her idea about those who go to church why go to church for somebody to tell you what to do it doesn't make sense
I agree with her on some levels. Exposure is key, It's the greatest investment you can give to your kids. Capitalize on all the resources you can get in and around your community to give them all the exposure and surround yourself with like minded individuals. As Td Jakes once said, if you live in the ghetto , take a drive out to see what life is like beyond the ghettos. It's a very deliberate effort to make your kids stand out from the bunch in terms of successes. It's no walk down easy street.
She’s in northern part of Canada 🇨🇦 and it’s very coldest 🥶in Canada 🍁. What ever she’s saying is very true and in 90s is totally different from now and Toronto is more Ghanaians and very busy then Montreal. I understand her because she was in her teenage years and she wasn’t mature at that time and now she’s mature enough and she knows what she’s talking about and I like her life style, nice interview 👌🏽👍🏾❤️😍
I’ve been in Canada longer than this woman and I came here at the age of 12. A lot of what she said is true but not all. I’ve had a lot of dealing with the police and some of her analysis are false. When I first came here, I was the only Ghanaian in my school. The other kids used to call me African booty scratcher. I had to fight to gain respect. There was a culture shock. Imagine coming from Ghana where you can fight in school and face no consequences compared to Canada where even a fight could put you in jail! Our parents didn’t know much when they first immigrated to Canada. Their focus was building a house in Ghana and also taking care of the family back home. That was the reason why a lot lived in the ghetto because rent was cheap and that affected the kids they brought here. A lot of them smarten up later on in life and moved out of the ghetto to buy houses. A lot of the kids who grew up in the ghetto had bad influence because that’s what the ghetto brings. Some end up in jail but others are also successful. The biggest issue in Canada is our Ghanaian leaders. They still reason like people back home. Other cultures have community centres and other things but Ghanaians don’t have shit. All they know is going to funerals every weekend. The next generation of Ghanaians would make a big difference and change in Canada. She touched on the men not having dialogue but the women also have a part to play. It is possible for a woman to earn more than a man in Canada and some women use that to belittle the man.
God bless you this is what I am facing here in Canada I catch my wife having sex with her former boyfriend in our house after questioning she got mad call the cop for me and they kick me out I am now paying child support for my kids
@@solomonbebli3953 If that is what happened to you then you need a DNA paternity test to ensure you are the biological father with all due respect. Some women have a toxic character.

How do you communicate with other tribes when you don't understand their language. DJ, I am happy you made her aware of her myopic observation about other Ghanaian ethnic groups.
Exactly! If Ashanti's or Twi-speaking men are eloquent, deep-thinking, know what they want, and great communicators, why hasn't she settled with one? This is the problem with a lot of Ghanaian women, especially those in the diaspora. Myopic and close-minded observation. My wife who is an Ashanti dated Ashanti men but settled with an Ewe man.
There are lots of decent and well spoken Ga and Ewe guys out there, just that, she's living in an environment where black guys are in the minority . I wish her all the best, any way.
Nana you are the best and very thoughtful and truthful,I hope you well in meeting a matured partner,it’s not easy,it’s like each for himself and God for us all,my advice again is take a Bible and read it keep reading it
Sometimes some of the children don't listen i brought three of my children to uk twins and their elder brother my advice to them was for them to be serious with their Education but the twins did not listen to me some times children do not listen to their parents especially some of made in Ghana children
Oh Lord, this woman is so straightforward about truth. Please, can we hear such truth from anyone in New York? Because with my understanding, Toronto and New York and New Jersey seem to be similar when it comes to the Ghanaians lifestyles
it actually depends on where you live in those places that you just mentioned. If you live in upstate the stories are always different. Upstate are always good to raise your children but be prepare to spend money for your good life, security and peace of mind...but life there too can be boring if you're someone who loves to party.
