Hey Paul! I bought a Scalextric American Street Dual set for my mechanic buddy's two young boys for Christmas this year to try and pass the hobby on to future generations since my wife and I don't have kids yet... But, almost regretting my decision after seeing these reviews and knowing how good those BRZs are out of the box! Anyway, awesome to see you teaching your boy and sharing such an awesome hobby with him. Much respect!!

Thanks Ryan, the BRZ's are Policar. Scalextric cars can't really run out the box without magnets. I do race several Scalextric cars and they need a lot of modifying and parts to run well. Grab a slot.It white kit for a great value cheap car 👍🤟
We are going to do a lot of HO videos over winter, I know that is what you grew up with. I had the AFX Formula 1 duel set which I have actually picked up recently as a vintage set.

Great review Paul and Leo,same question as Daz how do you find the thumb controller? 👍👍

Thumb controller is fine, I don't notice a difference between that and a standard controllers to be fair. I am not sure about hobby controllers but you can get thumb hobby controllers which I have seen people use at the club. With Policar you can easily upgrade to hobby controllers as it is a stereo jack connection so Scalextric controllers would fit (older stereo jack type)

Great review. Great video. Thanks for sharing. I've been thinking about tracking that drift set down.

Great review and yet to try a Policar track. Do they drift? are the cars 360 like the Scalextric cars?

Hey Doug, no the drift name is just marketing. The car reviews will be in the next part, if you take the magnets out you can slide them around which is a great selling point as you can run adjustable magnet strength or take it out.

Great review, loving the Dad & Son duo, I'll include Leo to the young track fans shout out at the weekends - he's going places! I like the way you presented the different layouts too, great stuff! 😎

Had an issue in file uploading so that is why it is in parts.

Paul how did you find the Thumb Controller compared to Scalextric Trigger Controller ?

Hey Daz, I don't notice any difference to be fair but we do have Carrera GO with thumb controllers so we have used them before. Scalextric, truespeed etc will plug straight into the track as it is a 3 wire system so you have brakes which is what Scalextric Sport base power use to have. That is a great selling point as you can cheaply upgrade for not much. The controllers in my opinion is where they have saved money so those would be an instant upgrade if I was keeping it.
