Step Back In Time At The 1904 Worlds Fair Exhibit At The Missouri History Museum!

Follow along today as I checkout the new revamped 1904 worlds fair exhibit at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park St. Louis Missouri. It's one of several free attractions in St. Louis.
With its 20 million visitors, 1,500 buildings, and widespread representation from 50 countries and 43 states, the 1904 World’s Fair made quite the impression.
More than a century later, visitors experienced the event that transformed Forest Park for seven months-and St. Louis for generations to come. Over 250 artifacts told the story of the Fair in this exhibit, including furniture from the Chinese, French, German, and Irish Pavilions; trophies from the 1904 Olympic Games, which were held on-site; and artwork and photographs of sights and scenes at the Fair. Visitors learned the stories behind the Fair’s design and construction; took in the souvenirs and clothing of attendees, participants, and workers; and reflected on the aspirations and visions of the future held by men, women, and children in 1904. What a cool history museum! SO cool that they have a 1904 World's fair exhibit! I love the model of the fair grounds. So cool to see all the innovation and things they were creating. Canada displaying 34000 lbs of asbestos is interesting lol. I like that Brazil brought coffee for visitors lol! This is so cool to see glimpses of this fair. Thanks for bringing us along :)

This looks like a fascinating exhibit. I wish there were still worlds fairs. I would love to go to one. I suppose with tv and internet and ease of travel now, it isn't really necessary to have worlds fairs. But it still seems like it would be fun. There were so many fascinating things to see at the 1904 Worlds Fair. Thanks for sharing this exhibit with us!

Oh now that's very cool! I've been to three in my time. The first in 1962 seeing the Space Needle in Seattle, Washington. The second in 1967 for the International and Universal Exposition, Expo 67, Montreal, Quebec. The third in 1986 in Vancouver, BC, which was the beginning of the transformation of that city for sure!

Ok had to do some googling. No wonder Forest Park is so neat. Some of the Ponds and cannals are from the fair. Looks like the Ferris 🎡 wheel is at Six flags in Missouri

It was a wild time I have a relative that delivered beer during the fair. He lied about his age 🤪 at least that’s what I heard. I haven’t seen a world’s fair in all my life.
