Yea it will differ mainly on what engine your starting out with. Some engines can make 400 on stock motor with a turbo and be very reliable, and some will have to be build. Just depends on where your starting point is
I really think you should invest in some proper bolstered seats. At that rate of horsepower you need some support. Especially in such a light rigid car.
That's not the point though. Even if he's going in a straight line or not, things like torque steer, road imperfections, and g forces could shake the car and if the driver isn't secure he can mistakenly turn the wheel at high rates of speed and lose control. Hope he invests in some soon.

Hey there Dominic. The civic is under the "knife" right now. The engine will stay fairly stock. Adding an upgraded clutch, fuel pump, injectors, new ECU (Hondata) and will be tuned on a dyno. Some minor suspension tweaks (rear sway-bar upgrade). The shop (slowmotion motorsports) said that a similar build they just did was putting out around 349hp at the wheels. Yes, you are right, the turbo's seem to be the way to go for the BIG numbers. I'm just looking to have a little fun and won't be racing this.

Yes, should be fun, for sure. The supercharger + intercooler (good for about 320hp at the wheels) is around $4500 list. But i'm adding quite a bit of other stuff, exhaust, gauges, dyno time, etc... With parts and labor, it's going to be around $11k. My wife is pissed, but hey, fathers day is a good excuse as any. I can't wait to pick it up. I'll probably put up a video or two. I won't be anything as insane as this 700hp monster - LOL, but should be a fun little sleeper that can do some interesting things on pump gas.

Seems to be making decent power. did 544/489 on wg boost (20 psi). hoping to get it on the dyno in the next two months and see if I can crack the 790-840 area...maybe somewhere around 30-37 psi if you seach borgwarner s400 you will see the white wrx
A couple years later ..Only scary cause everything started shaking 115 mph usually not that scary. Scary ?. 165 when you have to let it coast down before you can hit the brakes .
