Couldnt believe the news about Wilko ,you could have blown me over with a feather. My go to shop for dog treats and toiletries and household goodies.
Our wilkos has had empty shelves for a long time ,went in yesterday (Tuesday) in our town it was very empty on the shelves,it will be sadly missed in our town we use our shop a lot for all kinds of everything xx

@@susanbroderick4197why do you care? No one is stupid enough to pay their sky high prices for pet treats dog and cat food. It's incredibly expensive here I'm not surprised they are failing. I paid £7 more for a bag of purina one over Sainsbury's that's saying something because Sainsbury's are not particularly cheap for cat food either. I was not impressed with Wilko sorry but they are just too expensive and that's why the end is near.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for them to he saved too,, I buy all my gardening supplies and Bird food from there. Its a gem of a shop!! Thank you for taking us shopping with you!!

Sad times unfortunately, online shopping is choking alot high street businesses and the move to cashless society is not good

Jane like you will miss WILKO when its gone us avid gardeners loved buying all our bits and bobs out of Wilkos . Sory to hear of your aches 'n'pains but you know a great healer is the sea water so each time i travel the 183 miles from Hamilton to Cleveleys i always go in for a dook in the water to keep the aching muscles supple and you never know we may meet some day as strangers on the shore. Hope you get well enough soon so we can see more of your blogs around the FYLDE coast

Planing for a giant mall of charity shops has been submitted.
it might become an original factory shop similar to Garstang. good luck to the staff that works there. bought my first suitcase trolley from the wilko cleveleys store.
I agree about the shops before Wilko on the site, but before them for a long time it was the Abbots coach garage complete with a coach wash. The booking office was at one time on the other side of Nutter road to the South of the back street. Next door there was a fortune teller's shop/office/booth.

It is sad to see the closure of another chain. I think where Wilko went wrong is when they stopped stocking food items. That has allowed B&M and Home Bargains to jump in there because they stock food AND anything you can get in Wilko so people prefer to go there.

I went there a few days ago and they had NO halloween items so was shocked to see the amount of halloween items in this video !

There have been a few last minute bids that have come in. Just that no one will know until maybe next week
The town I live in is where Wilkos started and has the main distribution centre SO lots of jobs going and major loss of employment to my town.

we lost lots big names stores in the past we will lose some more . shame Wilko gone into Administration no one knows what the future has in store for our shop No matter what future holds
Cleveleys will still be a town to visit and a town to live in residence and workers in town are proud of our town we have loads things other towns dont have Character beautiful beaches beautiful views and dedicated residence who love this town
It must be one of the greatest losses in the UK. Just want to know where I can purchase durable goods with medium quality with fair price at the most convenient area like High street? Now I have to find the trashy from poundland and b and m
The Range is a good store, and Dunelm - both great for all kinds of household stuff.
@@visitfyldecoast maybe. But the cookware at Wilko is the best bargain as I describe in the comment. Also, the Wilko pan is metal utensil safe. That would cost 40 pounds more if being Procook or Nisbets. range and duelm are not that impressive. TK-MAXX may be the better place to find good-quality leftover.

I work at Wilko and my store is still having deliveries and also have Halloween stuff in

Seemingly, the better ones (more profitable) will be cherry picked off by others and the less so will close. But that's not a wholesale sale sadly. The source for that is Sky Business.
There is bid that has offered to keep the name and keep 300 stores which is probably the most suitable one but can't see that happening.
