Looking forward to seeing Geoff with a spade and rocking a cement mixer 😅😅😅 Drive way time!!
Think it's time to build a new driveway 😂😂
Yeah I was a bit shocked to see the driveway when the alpha rari first pulled out.
I was just about to say new side project is the driveway.
Yes! That driveway is a liability
Happy New Year. There must be a local concreter out there who is a fan and can give you a special New Year deal. Get it done...you won't regret it.
Adds value to his property also surely
(unless it’s simply rented garage space)
Drive way build series !!!
DIY ..dirt to tar-mat perfection
Better do some home build on the driveway Jeff🚜⛏🩹
Jeff, the rockstar is looking better better each time you put your magical hands onto it just love your builds. Can’t wait for the truck.
That'll be a great day with Benny. Saw you on Larry Chen's channel, fantastic! It was a great review of the work done on the Alfarrari
I'd really love to see you make the boxter look all pretty like the other cars, especially with that cool hardtop, really would love to see you treat it to decent paintjob.
Maybe even try your hand at wrapping.
Anyways, happy New year to you and the good lady and the rest of the viewer's, God bless you and best wishes from the North West of England
Jay 🙏🏴❤🇦🇺
That little Porsche is gonna be a lot of fun! Here’s to a great 2024! 🎉
The Audi v8s do sound epic. My dad has a rs4 and it’s so tight a high tech sounding for a v8. That and the brakes are the only great things about actually 😅
Happy new year 🎉🎉🎉
Awesome Jeff ! Redline lightweight shockproof gear oil is great at speeding up the shifts. works great in subaru 6 speeds to stop the notchy shifts. not cheap but worth it.
The Alfarrari is incredible, but this is my fave Jeff project 🙂
The Rockster is cool!!! You will need a Racing brake system for the track. Original stock brakes will not least.
Great job mate. The gear changes looked a bit tough, was wondering if something could be done to make them easier, would be worth it especially as you are using it at the track. Happy new year!
Happy days , have a great new years day
Love the V8 in there. Great idea.
I've been looking at PPRE engines lately.
NZ bros doing rotary engines properly. Mad Mike uses them.
A 3 rotor would fit easily in my boxster. 😊
I think (assuming it’s the same as the 987) there is another fan to exhaust hot air from the engine bay. Intended to stop the ancillaries from cooking themselves when the engine bay temps get too high. Might not be relevant to a track car but worth checking
It did have it but I removed it and mounted my oil cooler there.
Cool I forgot about this one
If you ever need an external battery isolator don't move it, just add a remote cable to it.
Very common in competition vehicles.
Would work if it was an actual killswitch and not just a battery isolator. The engine would still run if you disconnected the battery.
Motorsport iso needs to be accessible from the driver's seat with the harness on and needs to shut down the engine.
Then you run a cable so it can be accessed from outside and it needs to be on the left lower edge of the windscreen
Happy new year 😊
Jeff, something that may be relevant to putting 18" wheels on:
You may already know this but in case you don't, when I was researching putting some Cayman 18" wheels on my 1997 986 I came across a factory alert type notice that indicated that while 18" wheels fit the recommendation is to not drive the car hard (which I read as race) with them on. This warning applied only to the very first 986s so '96, '97 and maybe yours. I'm afraid I can't remember and haven't found the alert on the web again. My reading is that the suspension mounts weren't up to the task of handling the higher cornering loads that larger wheels might generate.
Nice job, so you know also to work for a good enough result. Nice
The only thing that's missing on the roxter now is the neon green paint 😁
And the underglow neons 😅
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is a very worthy project. Pure function. No need for pretty, just keep it (kinda) road legal.
Some sound blanket in back would be good. hah Roxter sounds brutal.
Looking forward to another fun year, happy new year
Happy new year mate, amazing to see the awesomeness you achieved in 2023! I hope you will have lots of good times hooning your fantastic fleet around in 24! 😎🍻
Happy New Year
Saw your meeting with Larry Chen the photographer, car society recorder.
I think you put yourself across well, and the history of the build with him.
Why didn't you scuff the pins and spray them black, to match the pin catches.
Happy new year mate, looking forward to seeing what you do in 24.
-Spanky
Happy New Year to you and your loved ones.
Sounds way better than before, looks like it goes way better than before too. Are you going to tidy up inside before first track day, as it looks like things are a bit loose behind you?
Thanks for another smashing year of content mate!
Thanks for a big year of great content mate. You gave the channel a diverse platform for us to get the courage to have a go with our projects. Again thank you and all the best to you and Mrs Jeff for the new year. Can’t wait to see the effy start.👍
Nice step for this build! Finally running!
I always wonder if there is some leniency in Oz regarding driving with no plates in a unapproved prototype or if you're just crazy enough to risk your house and your license. In France it would be the latter but we all can be crazy enough to forget about what's at stakes.
No leniency in Oz at all, believe me. He's just lives in the sticks and takes his chances.
Happy New Year Jeff. 🎉💥🎊🌞
I love your air freshener, where did you get that from? 😂
How much merch do we need to buy so you can pave the driveway? ;)
Original 2.5 5-Speed still? You think it is adequate for the 4.2 and track use?
Awesome build by the way!
Good thing you don’t get snow!
G'day Jeff,
The bonnet certainly looks better. When you were on the test drive, you had a problem with 3rd gear. What was the outcome.
So, thanks for sharing ✌️ Peace from Melbourne/Pakenham.
Auguri di Felice Anno Nuovo (Happy new year how we say it here in Italy)
Great seeing the boxster!!
i think you need to build a driveway lol thanks for the vid mate.
Jeff's driveway needs more love........and some concrete 😁
I don't have easy access to the Audi V8s specs. However is 94 degrees C somewhat high for the 'switch-on' cooling fan temperature - especially for a car destined for track work?
Sort the gear linkage before you stuff up something, it should be a quick fix?
The gear-changes then ?
What did I see?!? do you have a peugeot 206 gti or s16 in your neighborhood, in australia ???? Have a good year !
I thought it was always better to put the kill switch on the positive side…
amazing build, do you think any larger of a dohc v8 would fit in it?
What engine are you thinking?
@@bernardwarr4187 glad you asked lol, top of the list would be nissan vk56 and toyota 2ur for really nice build and performance but extreme reliability even when pushed... after that really any high revving v8 would do well, bmw s65, gm lt6, ford coyote/voodoo/aluminator, amg m159, even any ferrari v8, I could keep going but anything beyond would be impossible to get
Hi Jeff. Do you have link to the heavy duty wire crimps - would love to be able to sort my own battery leads - thanks for the video.
I don't but you should be able to grab some from ebay
Cheers Jeff. @@HomeBuiltByJeff
Good too see the Roxster getting some love again.
Sounds good 👌🏼
Cool project. Its giving me trauma flashbacks of doing engine swaps back in the day, and the endless issues that you run into! That being said, I would like to put a K24 into one of these for a street and track day car
The fact that the engine is in the middle is the biggest headache with the Boxster, just because it is difficult to get to things. If it was a front engine car it would have been much easier in a bunch of ways :D
@nictarver2988;
Nic Tarver, if You view the BoostedBoiz channel, there is a video showing a fellow which visited them about a year ago with his Porsche Boxster/Cayman with a K-series [perhaps K-24] swapped engine. Kyle had recently bought his Cayman and stated his possible intention with a K-Swap to his also in the future.
Also see Tuning with Nick in Toronto, Canada who has a K-swap kit for the Boxter & Cayman, also 911.
Depending upon Your location, access, availability with engines, parts, components, ECU-ECM, etc. there are many options
Also see Squonkwerks Garage Masserati f136 V-8 [4.2 L] swap in their Porsche Cayman convertible which they road, rally race; certainly other f136 versions including Ferrari f136 4.2, 4.5, 4.7 L with cross and single plane crankshafts; all DOHC
All The Best, Sincerely

Is that still the original gearbox in the roxster or is it the Audi one?
Did you put the kill switch on the negative connection just because it was easier or prefered to the positive?
Most online forums mention connecting it to the negative side.
I have used kill switches since the 80's and every guide I used said to install it on the negative side, perhaps there are specific cases where the positive side is used but I have not seen it.😀
It's fitted to the negative terminal in order to eliminate the possibility of unintentionally re-energising the electical system - e.g. by connecting the top of the battery post and the car's body with - say a spanner.
I think with all these high powered cars, it's time for a concrete driveway ;)
Holy crap, that bonnet is like a piece of wet pasta, no structural integrity at all.
What about the gear change?
The doorstop special
Jeff, do you still have a "day job" or is UA-cam enough? Technically that setup isn't a "kill switch", its just a battery disconnect. What's that whining noise? belt problem or just alternator under load or? I sure love the sound of that motor! (I've got the 420hp version)
Looks like it might be time for a driveway resurface video...
Hey great concept. An Audi V8 in a Porsche. Its a 924 X 2 or on steroids. Love your work Jeff.
❤❤❤
I dont know why, but the engine sounds like its not revving freely, sounds like its fighting itself???
Loving watching slowly but surely the ugly duckling turn into a Swan
I’m surprised no one has mentioned the honking noise the car is making.
That whining noise? Heard it.
You beat me to it! Sounds horrible!
Yes I thought that, kind of fluctuates up and down
Could it be the power steering? I know there have been issues with it
It is new. I need to have a bit more of a look but I have an idea.
please never drive without a firewall! If a high pressure fuel line pops, you could be dosed with fuel in the rolling car stuck in your 4 point harness. These are life changing injuries. Be safe, please. T___T
Could you post a link to those quick bolt you used on the front bumper? Or what they are called? I can’t find them.

How come I didn't get a track invite?
My car probably wont be ready, but still....
As a Boxster owner I both love this and hate it (in terms of loss of purity, but hey, it's being recovered from previous abuse).
FWIW I put a "kill" switch on mine too but it's one that bolts to the battery terminal and the cable then connects to it. No need for a bracket and extra cable. Doesn't really allow you to take away the switch key like your one though.
The ugly duck... That's a nice project to do some updates :)
You need fix the driveway
👍🏻🍺👏
Please sort your driveway! A little form work, some steel and concrete would be easy work for you mate. Your cars deserve better!
Love to see the Roxster battle Tony D'Angelo's Powerkraut one day. (If Jeff ever gets it finished)
A lil dusty. I'd wash it before taking it in the shop..
Forget the truck…..build a driveway
The air cooled 911's had a Electric break booster. Do you think the one in the car is Stock?
You can't head to the track with a fake carbon fibre bonnet? Why not hit it with some paint from a can? Anything is better than fake carbon fibre after all.
Lose the spare wheel lol
That 3rd gear at the track is going to be very bad, always losing momentum and should be really anoying
so fake carbon - farbon
Farb in German is Colour 😂😂😂
The worst bonnet ever with fake carbon………I’ll take it says Jeff🤦🏼♂️
And STILL the ugliest Porsche in Australia!
Sooo ... it's basically a bucket of bolts, with no power, no handling, no reliability, no purpose ....
You'll need to reverse the RWD cars into the driveway rather than reverse out
Самый уебешный порш
Fake carbon should be criminalized. 😬😁
You might like to glue a couple of aluminium L-profiles to the inside of the bonnet. 🤔
I bet it will flex and vibrate like hell, and once air finds its way under it, all unexpected things starts to happen.
Vibrations/moving is not just annoying, it has negative aerodynamic effects and finally things risk to break. 🫣😊
Looking forward to see this build evolve over time when you find out what needs fixing and improvement. 👍
Yeh was thinking the same thing, the bonnet could do with some reinforcement as its so thin and flexible. Would also hold its shape better when the bonnet is lifted.
I will see how it goes. If it is an issue I will do something about it.
