Hello Loves! Today is all about the Chanel Chain Vanity with Top Handle. I figured instead of just doing a WIMB on it, I seized the opportunity to also include a mini review since I've never talked about since I unboxed it 7 months ago and I wanted to give a little more detail behind my thoughts on this bag. You guys will hear me say "Maybe its just mine" quite a bit throughout the video but I felt I couldn't express it enough, my experience with this item, so far, hasn't been the greatest, but I sincerely hope that isn't the case for everyone. The vanity styles look cute, but this issue of needing two hands and how it falls open make this style a no for my personal collection. It does look great!
Omg, finally a true Chanel vanity review! Thank you for this, I have been on the reserve list for this for 2 seasons but wasn’t excited about it for some reason. It’s so cute, but seems high maintenance. We’re already cute, and high maintenance, we don’t need our bags to be too! lol 😂

I bought a light blue top handle vanity and the zippers drove me nuts so I ended up selling it. However, I’ve since purchased caviar vanity without the handle and the zippers are buttery smooth and fell back in love with vanities!

This is why I like your channel, your honesty comes first. I am a Chanel lover but I have never understood the craziness and the idea of converting a vanity into a bag. I had the LV ones and I tried once as a handbag style, and omg it drove me nuts until I got home that day. I realized I am a classic girl, a vanity is a vanity and it’s not a purse. The opening was my main problem and the leaning forward while doing it. Also, the zipper getting stuck etc. I can also tell you that the top zipper leaning on top of the bottom is not a control issue, my LV nano and mini did the same. I think that is because of the handle wait and the zipper getting softer 🤷🏼♀️.
To store it I would but it in the dust bag and hang it on a hook! But truly I’d sell it! So many more fun bags out there! Your collection is amazing! ♥️♥️😘

Terrific review. Try lightly stuffing with air paper. Lay her on her back for storage, so the chains don’t dig into lambskin?
She’s a little beauty! Regarding the zipper- run some wax paper on the zipper teeth. Don’t worry not messy n will not mark your zipper. It smooths the zipper immediately!! Works great on vintage zippers, the famous PS mini n bumbag zippers!

I owned the LV cannes and found that one really difficult to open. Strangely I find this vanity fairly easy to open and close. I don’t keep the zippers in the center though 🤔 also if you just zip it a little it keeps the bag closed in my experience. What a bummer it’s not all you hoped it would 🥺
It would probably be nice if it had a removable chain, so you could store it easily & just use the top handle for a dressy look.

I finally bought it in black caviar leather, no handle. It's so kyot! I avoided the lambskin because of the wear it will get. I actually saw a lambskin one in store and saw a potential Crack in the leather.

Try the chain strap felt wrap? Or roll up the chain in lots of tissue paper? That'll help. Samorga makes the felt wraps xx
I’ve used a felt pad for the chain as well as wrapping it in tissue paper, still a pain in the ass. 😆🙈♥️

Minnie, I feel exactly the same way about mine😊I've had mine since summer of last year and I believe I've worn it once or twice, I just find that I am not reaching for it. It does not wear well, the zipper is a pain, and the corners 😞. The design concept is beautiful but the reality is not what I am looking for. I am not particularly a fan of lambskin and it doesn't wear well on this bag either, she won't be with me for too much longer 😂. Thanks for sharing 💖. Your reviews and feedback are always welcomed.

Don’t mean to be too forward, how much will you sell your vanity case ? Is your’s with the handle or without the handle ?
If we can make a deal, is a win win situation & you can use the $ towards your new denim bag.
I got the rectangular light beige vanity (bigger version of your cube) and the zipper is super smooth. I never struggle to open it. However I bought a black cube (same size as your cube) from fashionphile and I struggle with the zipper like your top handle vanity and ended up returning it. So I think it's a quality control thing. Maybe because the zipper gets sewn too tightly around the corners so there isn't enough give for the zipper to go around the corners? Not sure...
I agree, it definitely seems like the zipper is too tight. ♥️
I have the micro vanity. It only fits my Samsung flip, keys and lipstick. This is what I carry around these days (post Covid era).
Sell it before there is more wear and tear of the bag. It is not a forever bag and won’t make you happy in the long run
How does this compare to your Gucci globetrotter beauty case or did you sell that one ?
The Gucci Globetrotter was wayyyy easier to get in and out of.
It is a big help to see what is in your bag.
I had the same issue with the indents on mine, too! Unfortunately, I figured out a way to store the chains AFTER I messed up my bag. I put the chain inside the bag and then put a rolled up piece of bubble wrap under the rest of the chain that is sitting on top of the bag. Hope that helps!
That’s EXACTLY how I’m storing it now! 🙌🏻 I swear it takes me more time to store it, than to switch into it. 🤣♥️

love the look but hated the ease of use :( i didn't have the top handle and it was still so cumbersome to open and close and the zipper sucked...wear and tear was horrible as well...so away it went! :) hated using it :( great video! people need to know :)

I think Chanel’s best vanity is the trendy vanity. It’s more of a bag. Also one of my favorites in my collection and I get a ton of compliments! I don’t like the other style vanities very much😩

The way I would store it: put a box behind the bag, wrap the chain with a felt or the white tissue coming with the bag and leave the wrapped whole chain on the box. Doing that you can prevent the chain from touching the top . I have the pearl crush version so I understand your issue, mine is much easier to store since it has grommets and I can just tug the chain inside the bag. But congrats on scoring this vanity bag, you won’t lose a penny selling in case you don’t love it. So eventually it’s still a hit 😁
I don’t see myself selling it anytime soon, but I’m happy it’ll keep its value just in case I change my mind. 😄♥️

hey would you recommend chanel lambskin square mini in 22c beige. i am scared of it being light colored lambskin but really like the color
Yes I noticed the indentations of the chain immediately so what I did is used a hanger to hang the chain on it or you could buy a hook to put on the wall of your shelf, or the small bag display rack. I had to do the same for my lambskin 19 bag with the small chain that rests on the bag because it was leaving indentations on that bag too. Because it's so short i tied a small scarf to lift it and tied the scarf to a hanger as well. The goatskin 19 doesn't do that.

What about “storing the chain” by Hanging the strap on something taller behind the bag, i.e. a necklace holder or some other sort of stand. It’s a beautiful bag but like you say with the downsides for you it’s not super user-friendly.

I personally wouldn’t do that, the quilts on the back will flatten.
Question have you thought of buying a stand and hanging it by the strap. Also maybe take it to Chanel and see if it is quality.
I might take it in just to see if I did get a faulty one, but I have a sneaking suspicion they’ll tell me it’s normal wear and tear.
I hope you sell it as it sounds like you aren’t happy with it. Strike while you can recoup as much as you can.
This is why I refuse to buy Chanel lambskin. Who wants to spend that much money and not have a durable bag?? But Chanel has been making so much more lambskin bags past 5yrs to the point I believe they don't want their bags to last. So customers (who can afford) buy a new bag every season or so and less of a resale mkt.

this is a vanity case, not meant to be used as a bag, this is a case you put on top of a table an open it as you open luggage. It's not a purse.
That is completely incorrect - these particular 'bags' are made to be used that way and Chanel labels them for this use. Hence the name Vanity Bag along with the strap.
If you look at runway pics, they are used as bags.
