Does anyone know the meaning of the lyrics? As far as my interpretation, someone stops to tie their shoelace at a traffic light before it turns back to green, and run across the road, not realizing it has changed, so cars are coming? I assume they get hit, and the song is about that?
Ruth Barder I have listened to this song a bazillion times in several points os my life and the only sensible interpretation is the following. A man is chillin by a dry fountain in Valder Field and he thinks of these recent days. Some time ago he had to go to this council thing, but he was so late they fired him. Next thing we know he is desperately looking for a job at a department store, even for low pay, uncertainty and closing delays. Now one can imagine the reason he came to this field is to relax and escape from the struggling pain of the city and such. But then it gets interesting because he is not the only one in this Field. The song describes a She and a man who cries, so at least there are two people, which is great because now the man doesnt feel alone anymore. The story is then left open ended. I think this adds some meaning to the already beautiful song No matter what Wells sings, that combination of warm voices and smooth instruments is fantastic. I would even say this type of songs gave ideas for the lofi genre to develop.
So in the second part of the lyrics, a woman found dead wearing gown made from Vlader field, and her partner was found to have killed himself in his house...?
Why is it that sometimes that I like some songs, it isn't known by others? I don't know & I don't care. As long as it isn't a different song that is WAAAAAAAY popular. Songs that I listen to must be LEEEEESSSSSSS popular or no known at all. =) It's okay, we all have opinions.
