Same thing happened to me a million years ago. Very small child at the movie "once upon a time in Mexico" (super violent movie). The worst part was that the poor kid turned around in his seat and was staring at all the moviegoers. I guess that was better than him watching the movie, but super uncomfortable for everyone else. My husband said something to management, but they said there was nothing they could do as long as the kid is with an adult. I don't think you were being a Karen or maybe I'm just a Karen too 😂

As a mother, I would be pretty upset if someone went and told a manager about my own parenting decision. It wasn’t really your place to decide how to parent another persons child or to talk about what time their bedtime should be or what they should or shouldn’t be watching. If you have children one day then you can decide that for your own kids.
As a mom of a 21 year old son I understand that people questioning parenting decisions isn't necessarily acceptable but there is a difference between that and speaking up for a child who may not be able to speak up for themselves and this movie incident is the perfect example of speaking up. As a child who grew up being abused which resulted in trauma PTSD I can tell you I wish someone would have spoken up on my behalf. Granted what I went through was systematic long-term abuse which is different than a parent taking a kid to a scary movie in many ways, the one commonality is trauma, a scary movie can result in traumatizing a 4 year old. When we see situations like that we have a duty to speak up in the hopes of helping a child to avoid trauma and seeing someone get their faced ripped off would traumatize most 4 year olds if not all of them. When my son was little a lady at church told me I should make my son (who was 4 at the time) sit down and not move during services and that I should not allow him to color in a coloring book when he should be listening to the service, that is questioning a parenting decision which was wrong of that lady to do so its important to understand the difference between being a rude, nosy Karen and speaking up for a child in a situation that could be potentially traumatic because no child should have to grow up and spend their life dealing with trauma PTSD.

The movie theatre situation never happened to me , however what is always surprising to me is baby at concerts?! I mean yeah they wear headphones but mostly they have nothing from that experience
Honestly babies are everywhere you wouldn't expect them to be. I've seen people bring babies out to hike on 90+ degree days in national parks and that is LITERALLY DANGEROUS because they cannot manage heat stress like an adult can so they are endangering their baby's life. The park will still be there come when they're old enough to carry their own water 😖

No no no you did the right thing ! I have a 9 year old daughter and I can tell you I'm a very very cool mother perhaps even too cool sometimes her father tells me off. But I would NEVER show her a horror movie especially in theatre. I personally think you did the right thing. Because even if the child assures me he wants to see it and it will not scare him, he doesn't even any references, how can he know it's not going to be too much ? And when it's too much it's already too late ! I would not have taken the responsability to have my child terrified even if he says he's okay.

When I was little my mom took me and my brother to a haunted house, the scariest freaking haunted house in the county 😳 I was traumatized. Im 48 and STILL will not go into one now because I have awful memories of it. Plus they always watched scary movies at home when I was little, and nobody paid any attention to little kids being in the same room 🤷🏻♀️ That kid will probably grow up hating scary things too because at such a young age it's so much scarier so we remember it longer 😳 Btw I love love your makeup look! I was a pumpkin head with my friend for Halloween hahah! My friend and I spent the whole month of October working on our costume and that was honestly my favorite part of Halloween. We did a paper mache for the head and painted it and it turned out amazing!

If a parent brings their child to see a movie in cinema, and they've been allowed, both from the parent and the staff at the cinema, then its not anyone elses business.. and it IS totally Karen to talk to the staff about it - no doubt about that 😅 Im kind of thinking, dont u have something better to do? 😂
How is that Karen? A 4-5 year old child shouldn’t be in a horror movie at 10 at night. I wouldn’t bring my child to a movie at that time of night at that age period, just out of common courtesy to other people because it’s hard to keep a child that age quiet and still.
