Hi Anne, so sorcery I missed this, the foam is fairly thin - less than 1/8 inch.

Marlene Jones you can buy acrylic blocks, Fiskars brand has some good quality ones. You can find them on Amazon at a very low price, just bought some.

Little wooden blocks you get from several places like a toy store, a carpenters waste bin, crafters hobby store or hardware store with a wood cutting section and again their waste or have a two by four cut into blocks. The dollar store often has a bin or bag with woodblocks for toddlers.
