My most heart felt condolences to all who knew and were inspired by Boyd, he was a giant amongst all sci fi modeller's, and a truly nice guy. RIP 🙏

It is a sad day,my condolences to Boyd's family .
Boyd was the reason I got back into modeling .I learnt a lot from Boyd from building kits and techniques, to learning basic electronics to light my models,watching his show from as you said kenny from the little brown dinner table to the current times miss his live shows they were fun and infomitive.
Can't imagine not having Boyd here to watch him doing biger and better model kit builds,show new and better ways to build models.my thought to Boyd's family.
He will be missed.
Years ago, I searched on UA-cam for a build of a Saturn V model I had bought, and wanted to build. Saw a thumbnail of this guy (Boyd) with this HUGE Enterprise Refit model kit (1/350) he had built. I was absolutely AMAZED! I didn't know they made Star Trek kits that big. Watched that video, and got hooked.
Watched all of his videos and live streams after that. Because of him, I have 200+ Sci-Fi & NASA kits in my stash. All of them ships! (Sent you a few of them Kenny.) I don't know how many of them I will ever be able to build, but I love collecting them! All Boyd's fault!
After I watched your video tonight, I went into my storage room, and stared at my model stash on the shelves. I just started crying as I looked at all of the models I had bought because of this amazing man who rekindled my love of modeling. I am so sorry that he is gone. I was looking forward to his new live streams this summer.
When he gave up live streaming a few years ago, I was happy to find your modeling channel. Love your live streams and videos. You have an excellent community of builders on your site. Good, friendly people!
Keep it up Kenny, and don't ever stop what you are doing. I think that Boyd would want that too. We will all miss him!
I love the hobby communities that built up around Boyd and HLI. After all these years, everyone continues to be positive, kind, supportive, and inclusive. And although I build models at a glacial pace, I always feel like I can contribute to those communities in my own small ways.
Boyd's diagnosis of cancer and now his passing from it hits me particularly hard. He truly is the single-most reason why I got back into the hobby at all about a decade ago when I happened upon his UA-cam channel. I had built plenty of model kits as a kid and have been a lifelong Star Trek fan. Over time, I ended up collecting kits more than building them, but Boyd's channel, his online forum, and then his live streams encouraged me to get back into the hobby and share with the community whenever and however I can.
I offer my sincerest condolences to Boyd's family and friends. Rest in peace, Boyd. You will never be forgotten.

@kltube1222 very well said! I got sick 10 years ago and couldn't work for several months and needed something to keep my mind busy. I liked to build models as a kid, so I bought a model kit and some paints. Model building as an adult is not like it was when you're a kid. As adults, these kits take time and a creative hand to bring them to life. Trek Works was one of the first channels that I found when doing a UA-cam search. Then I found Chris at Classic Plastic and, of course, Scifiantisy. I subbed and have been following these guys ever since. I have learned so much from these guys, and I always enjoy watching their content. Kenny is a good man, and I will continue to support his channel and watch his videos when they drop. RIP Boyd Compton, you will be missed!!

Glad you put this stream up Kenny, thanks man. What a loss. Trekworks and the really early Scifiantasy shows are what got me to pick up a forgotten childhood hobby. I've never built a 350 TOS Enterprise, I'd love to in the future, and when I do, it'll have a dedication to Boyd.
Oh no!! Chris and now Boyd..sad news, but thanks for keeping us posted. I was just thinking yesterday that it's been a little while since Boyd put out any new content. I was hoping that he was doing well. This is very sad.

Wow Kenny, this is very sad news regarding Boyd. I remember he was selling his build collection but this is very shocking to me. RIP.
