All solid choices. Wish I was able to have gotten my hands on mirage back in the day. He looks like such an interesting take on the figure. As for me, that optimus takes the first spot (mostly since I don't have jetfire) Classics OP simply has something about his design that feels right. The chunkiness of the joints. Just the right amount of movement where it's needed. Along with a very addictive transformation. I didn't get a copy of the mold until AoE in that 2 pack with evasion mode optimus, but I adore it as much as the original.
Classics Optimus is one of my favorites honestly, I thought this would be an easy list to do but it turned out really difficult because of the scope of the "classics" style, I could probably do a second list with all different characters.
Alright the Energon Prime abuse is starting to get borderline exploitive
These were my Transformers. I finally had the income and means to purchase the figures that I has always wanted but was unable to get as a kid. From that day I found Astrotrain at Toys R Us when visiting a friend who had started working there I was off like a rocket and my wallet will never ever forgive me.
I was proud that after hearing your choices for 10 through 2, I was able to pause and correctly guess which figure you had in the number 1 spot, but let's be honest even though he might only be my second preferred figure of the classics... objectively he is the best figure that came from the line.
That said my favorite is the Warpath that came from this line, wonderful transformation, impressive articulation, and one hell of a fun action feature. He earned his place of prominence on my desk and even with some of the amazing figures that have come since I don't see him ever losing that spot.
I am ensconced in memories thinking of this line. I had two Optimus Primes, the Ultra Magnus that came with the Skywarp that cemented him as my favorite seeker, and even tracked down a Nemesis Prime. Hunting for Jetfire and finding him in Illinois on my 21st Birthday Road Trip is one of those unbreakable core memories that will always stick with me.
Probably, just the fog of memory, but did I pick up that Hound for you or did we pick him up simultaneously? I just remember being in the old apartment and opening the figure and commenting on the design and the pack-in Ravage.
Speaking of Galvatron it was two years after he had released when I picked up Generations Scourge and realized I wanted he and Cyclonus' Dad for the shelf and I found my Universe Galvatron at a Rite Aid and was willing to pay drug store prices for a figure that was totally not worth it, but did make the family feel more complete.
This was also the first and last time I collected all six main seekers, and an Acid Storm for good measure, I do apologize though I no longer have my classic Thundercracker or I would find a way to fly him over to you.
I think that's enough, but the nostalgia for my Sophomore year of college and those nights spent playing Rock Band with my Headphones on every Sunday are strong....
Thank you for this list (even if you did put Sunstreaker and Onslaught on there)
What's wrong with Sunstreaker and Onslaught? You got a thing against awesomeness?
@@TTMMH42 It's mostly that they are two figures that I never had... plus I've never had the affinity for Sunstreaker and Sideswipe that most other Transformers fans do.
Classics Optimus is my favorite transformers toy of all time. I’ve been on a collecting journey trying to get every release of it.
Currently I have the Original Classics Prime, Shattered Glass Optimus, Magna Convoy, Knight Ginrai, Crystal Convoy, Cloud Convoy, United Ultra Magnus, US release Ultra Magnus, SDCC Nemesis Prime, United Black Convoy, the unreleased wonderfest Black Convoy, and AOE 2 pack toy colors Optimus.
I just need the Henkei, the Platinum Edition, and the Lucky Draw and I’ll have them all.
Overall fantastic video! Keep up the good work! If I could throw any constructive criticism at you I think you should add some background music. It feels too quiet when you pause during sentences or transition.
Thank you. I've thought about it. just need to find some copyright free incidental music to try out.
Yeah, I think galvatron is super clever. And if his 1 AM didn't always fall off, i'd be really happy with it.
He Actually Has A 3rd
Cannon Mode NOT Listed
in The Instructions... But
It's BECAUSE He Becomes
A Parts-Former, As It
DOESN'T Use His Legs!
Nice 8th Doctor nod.
You considered getting that upgrade kit for your Cliff?
Nice classic choices a lot of these i wasn't able to get myself and what I had , i got rid of in my purge ine reason was for space and the other was making room for the wfc trilogy figures and the legacy trilogy even since those the lines that I decided to go in on .
Classics survived my last purge. Not sure if it will survive the next, but this was a really fun stroll down memory lane for me.
@@TTMMH42 it is and if I had the room and space I would of kept them but I needs the money and house feels less cluttered so I have no regrets on getting ride of them after all put your family and yourself over your hobby .
Great pix! I love that Jetfire as well. The Japanese version of that Megatron is a thing of beauty.
Just getting back into Transformers again since i was a child in the 80's, I would still pick up a few every now and then but not regular at all. Super intresting topic to go through some sort of time line as to what and when has been released. Basically everything released since G1. tOP VID THANKS.
My personal favorite is the Hot Rod figure
He Was Called Rodimus
in Classics Line, As
EVENTHOUGH He Matches
Hotrod, Hasbro Couldn't
Licence Hotrod Name...
They LATER Licenced:
"Autobot Hotrod" Same
Thing Happened with KUP
(Sergeant KUP).
Transitions confused the heck of me until I realized what you were doing. lol
Megatron
Cyclonus
Onslaught
Scourge
Drift
Astrotrain
Thundercracker
Hound & Ravage
Jazz
Warpath
Great video, bro! All splendid choices. 🤩👍
My personal fave is still the Scourge mould. It was simply ahead of its time and remains contemporary to this very day. Its integrated (concealed/in-built) C-Clip weaponry, fold-out landing gear, full pose-ability (nothing lacking really), easy availability & overall design make this true for me personally.
Stay true to yourself, man!
PS. I still actively display the trio of 'Classics' Combaticons too; namely Ultra Takara Onslaught, Deluxe Movie Vortex (retool of Tomahawk) & Scout/Basic GDO Brawl (redeco of Breacher). 😊
Nice, I like Scourge a lot also generations warpath. There's so many good figures over those years
I still have my copy of Optimus, Cyclonus, got a repaint of the Jetfire and this video really nice. it reminded me of a simpler times, thanks.
I'll say it, I like the Classics Cyclonus alt mode better than the Kingdom one.
*Gasp*
I mean I don't blame you it's great. But I do like the Kingdom one more now
@@TTMMH42 and the Kingdom one isn't bad, by any means, but I just feel like the Classics one is more substantial. It has just the right amount of chonk for my taste.
So... almost all of them?
Jet fire can also combine with optimus
Electronic Silverbolt,
SkyDive, Rodimus,
Hound, Mirage, Dragstrip,
Ramjet, Dirge, Skywarp,
Grimlock, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee, Megatron (Tank), Scourge & Yes, Galvatron! NEVER Got Cyclonus
Or Even Astrotrain & Ironhide
Was Indeed Garbage🗑
I do love Universe Galvatron...but yeah, it has issues.
