And then there's a small minority of Independentistas, who call for the true independence of PR, something that the other parties don't want as it will lose all funding from the American Republic. Corruption within the government is bipartisan, and have plagued the island for years.

As a born and raised puertorican with my mom and sisters still living in the island, I have to say that every single question Mr. Smith asked was a question I was wondering about and would’ve asked him myself. That’s what makes an outstanding interviewer; precise, courageous, direct, sensitive, straightforward, impartial, knowledgeable and prepared. It took me two days to see this interview from start to finish. I’m ashamed that this man was in charge of my island, of our people and resources. You can really see throughout the interview how the sweat started to build up. His administration really failed us. I hope the next administration in charge helps us heal and move forward.
I think this is a moment of reflection. This raises a lot of awareness and it makes me think about the rest of the politicians who are left. Of all the corruption still uncovered and all the chats that exist. I’m not very hopeful that the successor of Rossello will be worthy of continuing this term. If it goes like i think it will, it’s going to be a person surrounded by known corruption scandals.
For now, we should take a moment to digest these past years and reflect. But we should also celebrate the resiliency and determination of all the people who had enough and protested. At times our best resource lies within us, the people and our voices. We took charge when the man in charge didn’t. Forever proud of our people and beautiful piece of land!
