Soon, we will all be dead. When I see stuff like this something stirs within. Something like a yearning for freedom and a hope I could do something similar one day. Good for you.
@@monkeymagic4555 they are right though! You get to an age where you realise that you have to enjoy life to your best ability whilst you are still able to… there’s always a solution no matter what the budget 🙌
I've done this with my car too (VW Touran). I use it to stay in when I visit London. I don't have cooking equipment as I park on residential streets, so it would look a bit odd. Then for £30 a month I've got 24hr access to a chain of gyms all over the country that I can use for showers/toilet. The feeling of freedom is amazing
Recommend window deflectors! They will covertly allow you to leave the windows open a crack to help with airflow and condensation. Plus they stop rain.
I enjoy seeing people camping in these little cars than the luxury home ones! way more fun to watch...it gets boring when people just have a family size home on wheels.. love it! 👍
THE JACKET IS SICK AF!!!!!! Talent for cosyness !! Luv that!!! Camper car was very cool!!! Awesomeness… I hope both your friends are swept up in popularity!
I've had a micro camper, vw caddy, for a while. As much as I love it and yes it gives you freedom unlike anything...its not the most relaxing thing. Having limited space, unable to stand, not always having security, the means to wash up properly or go toilet comfortably...as fun as it can be, sometimes I envy those comforts. This looks great though, props to you sir!
Thanks, Turnip & Ted. We had been thinking of replacing a car with a compact van - big enough for a toilet, fridge, basic kitchen, bed and room for a bike. I would take that step today, but hubby always needs longer to research and plan. Watching this video has made hubby more ready to find a van. It will mostly be my ‘daily driver’ and ‘support’ vehicle for when I go out for walks/bike rides (I need a toilet now 😀). I also plan to get away for tours of historic houses/castles etc, and go to “Van life” events. Having a van will give me a lot of freedom (once we no longer have the dairy farm, and have relocated). Ps. If you are travelling anywhere near SW Wales, let me know. Would be great to meet up
Hi, just found your channel, I also have a Toyota aygo that I camp in. I had a bed made, but mine goes down the middle, I didn't want to take my seat out as I need them. I am only a little un, 5/2 . I can not drive with the bed down as the front seats have to be pushed as far forward as possible, but I consider that as a safty thing, no one can nick the car while I am in it! I had a platform made, put a baby's cot mattress on it and it quite comfortably. I can get a little box in there that acts as a table for my one ring gas hob, so I can cook and get a cup of coffee. I also have a little loo, if I am taken short. Everything I need. People think I'm nuts. I do like the curtains I will have to look for them. Happy camping. One more new sub to your channel. X
I am laffin, this is a 90s throw back video for guys who have just done an all nighter and don't want to drive home. Loving the stellas too, sets the mood 😆
Amazing After the fridge reveal I was expecting loo and shower😂 Amazing conversion. I had the Peugeot version and loved it. Always thought it would be brilliant to sleep in it.
I think some ventilation or an extractor fan in the roof is needed, in a small space like that condensation will become a nightmare, which could turn into mould and damp issues.
Just a good airing with all windows or doors opened up for while every now and then, when it's dry outside, should do it. Plus 2 windows 10-20mm open when inside. Rainguards good. Can be an issue for full time car living.
We talked about getting back into making dens again. As a regular narrowboater this is right up my street. Using every nook n crannie. Brilliant Dave👏👏
I absolutely love this…. I’ve just told the hubby we are ripping his dirty work car out at the weekend! We already have a small bed like that plus a roof box so happy days! Thankyou looks so cool & easy too
😂 bit psst? Wow, well that will save some money when you're out and about filming. How cool. 👍😄 Like the magnetic curtains and that coat is great!. 😄 Aw your lil dog is so cute❤
As a tall bloke, I'm amazed at the 6'2" bed AS WELL as fitting everything else in there. You could never tell from the outside. You might even call it "a sleeper" 😄
Been following your channel for about 8 months now. Really enjoying how you're coming into your own with the presenting style and different topics of videos - really refreshing to see someone that says it how it is. The car conversion is brilliant also, amazing way to save money from hotels like you said. Also defiantly going to look into buying that jacket - such an awesome idea that!
@wanderingturnip Hi , new subscriber here. I'm very impressed with the aygo. I did something similar but much , much cheaper with my volvo v70 . Burner out of a bio ethanol fire does the cooking and heating, car shades uk is where I got the blackout blinds ( modified them using temu blackout material . No need to blackout the front meaning super stealth ( just looks like a parked car on any street) . Temu steering wheel table for eating . 6ft bed without compromising passenger seat which can be used as a recliner .
Might I suggest to give you even more space get yourself a poncho and a few bungees and attach it to the boot of your car and bosh you have a canopy to rainy days to sit and have a brew in your chair
Great little camper, but i am also pissing myself at the massive fire, it reminded me of operation good guys when Duncan said 'there is something about a fire that makes you feel safe' and i just imagined his legs going up in flames and him shouting 'put it out, put it out' 🤣
Great ideas, the curtains are cool. Storage solutions are key and the kitchen pull out is superb. Maybe help other UA-camrs do the same, I'm sure that'd happen? I'd watch.
Amazing. Got this small car and its so versatile and more than meets the eye. E.g. its able to lug with a cable holding in place a very high IKEA wardrobe without any issues.
Wow I used to have an aygo identical to yours i too have slept in mine , but I never thought you’d get as much room to lie down in ! Great cars happy camping ⛺️ xx
I did this for a year in a citroen xsara picasso. take the seats out and it is totally flat in the back. No need to remvoe front seats and 1.90M length available in the back. Inflatable bed, sheet, pilllows, duvet, plastic storage boxes on teh side with a 1.2M counter top screwed onto them (heap) - and a roofbox. Toured Europe in comfort and style, mainly in South of France.
Funny you should post this today, I was watching a video UA-cam recommended me yesterday where someone converted an old school bus into a camper van. I've seen both ends of the spectrum now from huge to tiny! Looks cosy!
Ahaha wow this is amazing. I think possibly the smallest "campervan" conversion I've seen, I wouldn't have thought it was possible. Excellent work, I love to see it.
3:33 cmon man, no excuse the pun? 😂 As someone who is looking into moving into a car full time(cost of living) and been looking into it for a while, you've seriously impressed me with how well you've done with such a small space, great job. Edit: I just remembered now you were mentioning months back about starting the second youtube doing this stuff and then hey you just mentioned it in the video 😂 who knows I might be a customer in future!
Cool car! It's like a japanese transformer capsule hotel on wheels. I've seen many super compact camper vehicles but this must be the smallest one so far, but it's still big enough for one person (and a doggy). I don't have a car or a license or even any extra money but if i had all three i would probably build something similar. I used to build crazy stuff when i was younger like a "cryo chamber" capsule bed, and i often design odd looking RVs and boats and tiny houses for fun (among many other things)
I do the same but I have a Skoda Superb Estate with limo tints. Kitchen is in the front passenger footwell. Proper covert. I can sleep anywhere and no one knows.

Those Aygos are great cars, but this ones the greatest of them all. Reminds me of those cool pod hotels they have in Japan, except its got better kitchen than my first apartment. Its even got a tiny bathtub.
Totally love this, i got little transit connect that i need to break out and go out in, but might do a car next as you get more comfortable drive. I would like to add some sort of heater.
This is a cracking idea and might get more usage out of my Suzuki Swift. However, you do videos of death of the high street, and everything bordered up. Isn't this part of the problem though, people doing alternative thing's causing hotel's to get bordered up. In a few years time you could be filming disused Travelodge's that have been bordered up, thanks to people going out transforming car's into camper's. Great vid though.
