Huyang was a complete savage in this episode. He doesn’t sugarcoat what he thinks, he tells Sabine and Ahsoka straight as it is 😂
He's got that old man, I've been alive so long I've forgotten most of what you already know so I don't give a damn anymore and I'll just tell you what's up kind vibe.
I was hoping Ashoka would’ve brought up Kanan when talking to Sabine about abilities without sight. Would’ve been a sweet callback but otherwise good episode, despite being so damn short.
Actually, thinking about that now, I feel like she 100% would have mentioned kanan. Now I’m upset she didn’t lol
I am just hoping that Thrawn has the most epic entrance in Star Wars history, like I’m talking shivers and goosebumps, that’s what I want. Please Dave, don’t disappoint us!
He has already. The show is tanking for a reason. Just baaaaaad. Nothing "epic" about it except how bad it is.
@@e.l.nortonwhat’s wrong with the show? everything’s awesome, many callbacks and references to old stuff, everything falls into the lore unlike the sequels, they brought in live action one of the best character from the clone wars, plus it keeps adding stuff in the SW timeline so that maybe one day we can look back at this sequel trilogy and say: “finally it makes sense” (even tho I doubt it’ll happen😂) but like… it’s great whatsoever so why you mad?

In general its not a big deal so far but it feels star wars and its not full of unnecessary fan service and akward moments.
And in a series some more filler episodes are needed to build characters like the first half here. I really enjoyed the sword training and some lore of the force. Second half had a good visuality and music.
It could have been longer for sure, that was my biggest issue here.
It brings the vibe of the prequels where actually the first 2 ep are quite mediocore too all in all but had a good sw feeling
@@mogyir I enjoyed the training scene also but felt like it went on to long, I think it was a 7 minute scene or something like that, I did not enjoy the space battle cause it never felt like it had any stakes or that anyone that mattered was ever gonna get hurt, plus the whole fly into the 3 foot long lightsabers was ridiculous but if there had been more story moments that actually mattered and moved the story forward I wouldn't care but since nothing was really happening the little things bother me a little more, anyway I'm still hopeful it will pick up and be a great show wen it's done but I just don't get the people giving it 9 out of 10 and all that, to me this was as mid as it gets. My dad introduced me to star wars when I was very young and I connect with him thru star wars but im not watching this with him or as of this episode gonna suggest him to watch it, cause he wouldn't understand wats happening cause they expect you to have watched the cartoons and so far it's not interesting enough to make him want to know what's going on, I want the best for this show not tryna be negative just being honest
I'm so glad they aren't just automatically making Sabine a super powerful jedi. My biggest worry was that she was just going to have all of this incredible power for no reason and not have to work for it but clearly that is not the case. Very happy so far.
She should never be able to wield the force, the Guardians of the Whills weren't able to and they were a wayyyyyy more dedicated to the force. I'm cool with her being able to use the training helmet, tap into the force, have small gains from it (reaction time in combat, more awareness), but she should never be able to force pull that cup.
It is so good to see Jacen Syndulla in live action. You can actually see on his right shoulder the pauldron (shoulder armor) that his father, Kanan, used in the first two seasons of Rebels. Nice little touch
Was excited to see him myself 🥰 just wish they had found a kid to play Jacen with turquoise colored eyes like his father though. Hera and Kanan both have turquoise colored eyes, so it would have been a better nod to Kanan
@@alexandernoir277me too! It’d b really cool if he grew up and… oh wait Ben solo has a tantrum and kills all the other jedi at the academy
“A long line of untraditional Jedi” actually refers to the fact that Ashoka was trained by Anakin, who was trained by Qui-Gon, who was trained by Count Dooku, who was the apprentice of Yoda. Yoda represents the Jedi establishment, but the line under Dooku represents an offshoot characterized by skepticism of certain dogmatic views of the Jedi.
Loved everything about this episode except for the run time. The scene with Ahsoka in space with her lightsabers was something straight outta the Clone Wars!
@@PepeToTheMooon honestly I wish they woulda just went with Ashley Eckstein over Rosario Dawson, cuz you’re absolutely right. I have no problem with Sabine being force sensitive. As long as it's within reason. No Rey shenanigans.
EXACTLY, that’s why I was hoping Sabine didn’t move the cup , and tbh I don’t want her to be able to do anything at least until the end. There is no reasonable way she should be able to use the force unless she trains HARD
I really hope this show doesn't reference anything from the sequels, ruined Mando season 3 with all the cloning nonsense, bridging the gap between these shows and the terrible new trilogy has killed Star Wars
Every single being has some level of force sensitivity.
But you're too dumb to understand that, clearly.
Rey had Palpatine blood. Granted, the character was handled terribly, but still... the sort of thing that would be no issue for a Palpatine.
I think it would be fine if she uses it as meditation and predicting moves in a fight but can never physically wield the force as she isn’t force sensitive and that would a fine line for Sabine
I was annoyed by the training scene when Sabine seemed shocked and frustrated at having to fight blind... she thought that was crazy? Didn't she fight along with Kanan after he lost his sight and was using the force to see ALL the time?
Yeah but kanan was a jedi knight trying to be a master to Ezra she probably expects a high caliber jedi to be capable of those feats when she didn't even know she was somewhat force sensitive
She has fought using her senses all her life, she just isn't used to fighting without them, her reaction is understandable.
Also as mentioned, Kanan was a jedi knight and a strong force user.
Its really nice, seeing someone who just discovered the force train in order to master it, unlike a certain someone we all know
But that’s not even happening Ezra and Kanan both said she wasn’t force sensitive, now Ahsoka says anyone can wield the force with training and practice? That goes against any lore and is just an insult. This is all part of Kennedys plan to justify things that happened in the sequels
@farwoodfarm9296 I disagree. Theory mentions that Lucas says everyone is Force sensitive they are just on a spectrum so to speak which makes sense to me
How tf can Sabine learn the force.. she’s a friggin mandalorian.. in that case give din djarin force😒

I think any force accounts she manifests at first will be defensive. She might be able to do like a small version of battle mediation if she ever becomes in control of her ability. She's a tactful and skilled warrior so it would make sense she's trying to use them offensively. That's why they aren't working. She's going to realize she has natural abilities beyond just fighting to try to manifest through
It felt like watching Shepard warning the council about the reapers, and all of them being in denial 😵
Which is why I hated it in both scenes, both in mass effect 2 and this, its absolutely stupid. They have the receipts that these issues are maybe not entirely what they are hyped up to be by the person calling for help but they've seen them in action the council probably watched sovreign blow up the citadel fleet and GOOD LORD atleast Mon mothma should know you do not want thrawn knocking about as she was litteraly THE LEADER of the rebel alliance and as chancellor she'd just even assemble a small task force to hunt him down, its just dumb writing for the writers to get the plot they want.
Plus also thrawn is a known war criminal in the eyes of the NR and a imperial grand admiral may I add, so yeh capturing him would be a massive boon in support from atleast the planets thrawn wronged, so politically IT WOULD MAKE SENCE TO DEPLOY A TASK FORCE.

In the EU, there is Corran Horn, who is force sensitive but cannot move things around or do what we knew of jedi at the time. His skills ended up giving him amazing reflexes (which helped him be a great pilot), and more mind control stuff. Its possible that sabine has different powers that we have already seen but haven't been honed. Things that Hyuong and Ahsoka arent trained to recognise.
Like Chirrat Înwa from Rogue One (the blind monk).
I hope that's the case. It would make for a more interesting character.
@@MrSpannners totally! I'd much rather see the limitations of a character and how those limitations are overcome
Even then, Horn could use telekinetic abilities under certain circumstances (absorbing external energy).
@@karlrovey it's still early. I'm not holding out for anything, either way. Just happy to see where this goes
Corran Horn was already a great pilot when he was placed into the Temple so his natural talents were boosted by force sensitivity. he was also trained to be a Rebel agent so his mental powers were already buttressed by a trained mind.
Sabine is a Mandalorian with an affinity for using weapons and craft plus her creative side. She can certainly use the lightsaber better than say, Din Djarrin . Ahsoka herself didn't really use the floating boulder training , so Sabine might not have fine motor control powers. Luke was trained by Yoda in both fine motor (rocks) and gross motor (the X-Wing) so he is more rounded as a Force User.
Hyuong has been training Jedi for a very long time, doubt it actually hasn't seen any Force powers.
If only Chopper was there to do what he did to Ezra and "help" Sabine move the cup with the force. Didnt Ezra also take a peek to see if it moved?
I hated the comedy in the sequel series.... but yeah, trolling is choopers thing and I need more of it.
Also this whole "The force resides in everyone" thing is not just information in books and interviews with George Lucas. In the very first episode of the Clone Wars (not chronologically) Yoda said it as well to his clones in the ambush episode. "The force resides in all lifeforms, use it you can to quiet your mind"
It’s about being force sensitive. And usually kid who are can use the force uncontrollably. For example Anakin while he was podracing, the only reason he didn’t die doing it, because normal humans can’t even participate in the sport, was because he could basically see the short term future. The notion that every single person in the galaxy can just learn using the force is completely universe breaking. Just another completely canon breaking thing by Disney Star Wars….
@@wingthomaux Right! I’m okay with Sabine maybe tapping into it to have heightened reflexes or some boosts to her fighting but nothing crazy. She could be like the guy from Rogue One maybe. I think people are misunderstanding the force resides in everything line, training helps but you could train vigorously for 50 years and you still aren’t going to be Jedi level. For example the point of Anakin was he was the most powerful force user ever. If he hadn’t trained, he might not have gotten to the level he was but even then if he and someone random both trained exactly the same way from day one for 20 years, the second person won’t be Anakin level…even if they trained harder

Anakin as a pod racer could simply feel everything around him and reacted accordingly. @@wingthomaux
It was short, but it was jampacked with so much, heaps of call back to other series and I loved the way Ahsokas view on the force
Ahsoka was so much like Anakin in this episode and it was amazing. In the opening scene when she was training with Sabine, she was just like Anakin in the Tales of the Jedi episode where he trained her. She even said "let's go again" just like Anakin. And of course when she went outside to take on the starfighters that was something Anakin would have done.
Going outside to fight ships is literally an Ashoka thing she does allllll the time in clone wars not really an Anakin thing . Everything else 💯 agree .
Yes. I saw a lot of Anakin through Ahsoka’s teachings this episode. Really it was both amazing and a hint of sad. She clearly holds dear those moments with him and it brings back some pain to think of them even though training.
But if she can balance out those emotions (which she’s better at) of pain, understanding and compassion for Sabin- she and Sabin will be successful.
I wonder if she's gonna come to the conclusion many of us face in reality "what worked for you, won't work for someone else." ANAKIN'S way of teaching Ahsoka worked for them, clearly. They just clicked. Probably because they're close in age-Ahsoka was 14 when she first enters the scene, and Anakin was only 19-20ish when he basically had to raise her and take her on as a sibling. He took that responsibility very seriously. Obi-Wan's way of teaching DIDN'T work for Anakin, and it damaged their relationship. And it seems like Ahsoka TRYING to emulate Anakin here, is what damaged her relationship with Sabine. So she'll have to find her own way to teach. Just like how Luke had to kind of learn how to train Rey after his failings with Kylo. You learn as you go. That was Luke and Rey's relationship.
I was veeeeery sceptical about the show especially after seeing the first episode and having yet another person survive a lightsaber stab through the body. But I really loved this episode, the interactions between Ahsoka and Sabine, really Top Tier. I remain sceptical though and hope to be positively surprised.
Everyone being force sensitive makes Han being such a good pilot makes sense and how he was able to dodge a head shot so quickly at close range in EP4.
@@TheRealDawny Legends yes, Canon no. His daugther Jaina is the one that speculated that he may have potentially possessed a mild form of Force-sensitivity. Idk where u got "above-average Midi-chlorian count" from. That isn't confirmed at all.
I wouldn’t attribute the headshot thing to the force. That was just a dumb idea to make it more apparent that it was self defense
Poe also grew up near a force tree and was unusually good at being a pilot too.
The most amazing thing in this episode is Ahsoka getting dressed and out of the ship to ''distract them'' in less time than it took incoming ships to get to them.
Or the fact that the ships so politely fly right next to her so she can attack them. They definitely could not have just come from different angles and destroyed everything. The suspension of disbelief is pretty hard to maintain.
Sabine’s struggle to grasp the force and Huyang’s constant jabbing at her inability to command the force, reminds me of the Legends novels with Obi-Wan: Rising Apprentice. I think it was in Rising Force where Obi-Wan was training with other younglings before they get selected for apprenticeship, where he was bullied for having the weakest connection to the force out of all the younglings.
Yup, and look who became the "perfect Jedi" in the end
Anakin was naturally better, but Obi Wan having to STRUGGLE probably gave him the chance to rise to even his level. If they both put in the same effort it would be wildly unmatched
@@TaMPiCo53 probably! It’s been years since I read those books! That’s the one where Obi-Wan fights Qui-Gon’s fallen apprentice right? That was a good one too.
@@BreMue obi didn't rise to anakin's level. anakin was 10 years younger than obi when he defeated dooku, while obi wan even with anakin got knocked out pretty fast. he only defeated anakin by pressing on his ego. he didn't actually defeat him using skill.
also obi wan tricked luke into attempting to kill vader by giving him a grudge, that being vader killing his father, obi wan is far more cold blooded than given credit.
This made me change my mind to being ok with Sabine learning the force. Loved this episode, felt so old school, like A New Hope
Yeah there were a lot of callbacks to ANH. The helmet training while flying, Sabine literally quotes Luke “I can’t see how am I supposed to fight”, the battle with Shin and Marrok, etc. Just hope they don’t mary sue her..
Ahsoka is becoming a lot like qui-gon, she is getting back to the roots of what the force is, despite everything the jedi told her, she knows the force has a way with things she cant even explain
which is good because if she continues this path one day she will become a Force Ghost and will be standing beside Anakin and Obi Wan
The Jedi's ways worked for OVER A MILLENNIUM. Just because they were defeated by the greatest Sith Lord who ever lived doesn't mean they knew nothing and Ashoka knows everything
@@TheSYPHERIA I never said she knows everything, looks like you meant to comment this somewhere else maybe?
There are a couple moments in Rebels where Sabine displays true Force sensitivity, but it's glanced over on purpose I think. Sabine feeling the Dark Saber getting lighter as she starts to get in tune with it. Plus her saying "he is coming" referring to Ezra running to the portal in the World Between Worlds despite not being able to actually see him, she just sensed it. Not to mention her ridiculous agility in combat, plus her crazy pilot skills. It's like if she isn't "over thinking it" she can do it.
Yes and im pretty sure that is the reason she was able to revolutionize imperial tech in her tween years, she never realized it but she had a gift to be able to see something before it happens similar to anakin building a pod racer

Meanwhile Bo used it pretty easily with one hand. Kanan said that you have to connect with the blade as your thoughts and actions influence it, the blade becoming an extension of yourself.
It just seems odd that Ahsoka refused to train Grogu due to his attachment to Din Djarin , but will train Sabine despite her huge attachment to Ezra.
Ahsoka tried to train Sabine and she learned from it, that's why she didn't want to train Grogu. Now she is giving Sabine another try.
@Paul_Ridgeway Not sure about that friend zone thing. Check how she touches the mural.
Ahsoka failed as a teacher to sabine and abandoned her. Why would she teach grogu after that.
I suspect, because Grogu's connection to the Force is so MUCH higher than Sabine's, the potential for misuse of his power is on a different scale should he turn to the dark side...
The force explanation in this episode nailed it IMO, I always had this understanding of it especially after the blind dude in rogue one.
The fact that they didn't default to making Sabine a mary sue with an immediate grasp of the force actually does call back to better character development in lore. The progression makes so much more sense and connection with the arc.
But it’s a way to Justify that Rey became a Force user so fast. Don’t let them pull the wool over your eyes, she’s not a Marysue but totally a Macguffin

Love how selective they’ve made lightsabers and the level of damage they inflict. Getting stabbed through the stomach doesn’t somehow cook your internal organs and turn them into mush, but yet can effortlessly slice through solid metal and blow up a spaceship👌🏽 pure genius level writing. There’s so much idiocy with star wars now you can’t even keep track
Nobody is talking about that. It's a massive insult to Qui-Gon.
The only thing I can posit is that when Sabine got stabbed it was more to the side, whereas Qui-Gon's was right down the middle, so it severed his spine? IDK. This show is terrible.
I'm having a great time with this series so far! As always, I appreciate your point of view, breakdowns and explanations. Loving the amount of in-depth lore happening here! Been a long time since the folks creating Star Wars have cared enough to focus on that aspect!❤
I liked the take on Sabine as a force user. We have always seen recruits with "talent," as Ahsoka said, but we've never seen someone try to train someone with ZERO talent. I'm hoping they just revert to her being a BA mando. It's ok to NOT be force sensitive....😅
I think Filoni will figure out a way to give her some kind of limited access to the force. A force 'spidey sense' to sense danger and move out of the way just before it happens for example wouldn't be overpowered and could be useful in combat. but I don't want to see her using any overt force powers like force lighting or force pushing that traditional jedi can use because they have actual talent in manipulating the force.
@@veeclash4157 Exactly. Like a connection between her and Ezra, or the ability to heighten her senses.

Did you notice at the beginning of the episode Ahsoka asks Sabine to do the Zatochi style? This is a total reference to the famous Samurai film Zatoichi the blind swordsman. Ahsoka hands Sabine a blinder....Dave is totally inspired by Samurai films and I love it.
The training sabine was doing with Huyang is also very similar to Kenjutsu. The training is for cutting form and technique improvement. In real life, they use bamboo mats.

Ashoka training Sabine is pretty cool I think. It's super unconventional. It kind of breaks the Jedi (and Sith) force monopole. Sabine probably won't be a super powerful force user (would be weird if she would be) but unlocking her force potential (even though it might be limited) combined with her other skills especially her mandalorian training can make her a very formidable warrior. Doesn't have to become a Jedi just her best self. What a great line and attitude.
Good episode, but I’m still afraid of the possible “Sabine can actually use the Force” twist happening later. I hope they don’t. Loving Hu Yang
It's actually weird to see people being mad at it. I mean, one of the reasons prequels were hated was because fans were mad at the whole midiclorian thing, since until the prequels it was perceived as anyone can use the force and be good at it (which didn't make much sense anyway). But now that the situation is quite similar, turns out that you can indeed use the Force but just with much more difficulty than force sensitive people. Yet fans are still mad
@@j02savage9I have, Kanan determined she wasn’t force sensitive when training her to use the Darksaber. I think if she trains a bunch and opens herself up to the Force she could reach a higher state like Chirrut Îmwe, but she shouldn’t be capable of using the force to do Jedi things
“Anyone can train to use the Force” just feels like a Disney move. What stopped iconic Mandalorians and Bounty Hunters from training to use the Force then. Seems like they’d love to be able to use it in combat. Sabine can train to have Force Powers, but characters like General Grievous, Jango Fett, Boba Fett, Cad Bane, Din Djarin, etc. can’t? When I seen Huyang using the 4 arms during training , first thing that came to mind was “get this man some sabers” 😂 dam. He’d wreck some havoc when needed .
I think it is great that they finally introduced the concept that ANYONE can become a Jedi. The only reason I know about this is because I watch your videos and showed us that George mentioned this as well. I also agree that people who are not force sensitive will definitely have a much harder time to do the basics. Since Sabine is not force sensitive her training will be harder and her late age factor is hard. The Jedi console only choose those with presents with midichlorians because they didnt want to deal with the extra time of teaching (That what I felt). I am still glad they introduced this concept because it welcomes more to the fandom to feel that "You know what, I can be Jedi with hard work" I am thinking for a young fan now since they know they dont have to be gifted with some force sensitivity.
I believe obi wan is a great example of this. Even if obi wan has more midichlorians, he was way lower than most Jedi but because of his way approaching things, he is poised and calm and determine, he was able to be on of the best Jedi ever. Obi wan is proof that you can do things through hard work and not based on the midichlorians
I loved seeing Jacen Syndulla! Kanan and Hera was my favorite relationship of all the rebel characters. And when Kanan died it absolutely gutted me. So to see his son bounding about with so much enthusiasm and desire to be a Jedi reminded me of Kanan. Of all the things he went through in the war turning him away from the Jedi order, giving him so much doubt, and yet reconciling himself at the end trusting in the force. I did notice Hera seemed a bit negative about Jacen training to be a Jedi. Don't know why. Maybe because there are so few teachers. Maybe because she fears he'll go on to do a selfless sacrifice like his father. Maybe he's not that's force sensitive. I know that this is not his story. It's not his time for an arc. Maybe in future properties. It's just cool to see him.
Same, when I fist watched through the show, I could tell they were setting Kanan up to die, but then him rescuing Hera I was like awe it's gonna be ok then the fuel tank went up. I was in shock but damn, went out like a BOSS, shows how great a Jedi he really was.
man i am LOVING this show so far, most excited ive been about star wars since the prequels
I had 2 issues with the episode. 1- "I can't see, how am I supposed to fight?" Sabine was literally trained to use the Darksaber by a blind Jedi. 2- For the 2nd time, protagonists pilot a craft directly into an enemy barrage, taking hit after hit, and the heroes' plot armor allows them to somehow survive. First the Phantom 2 did it at Corellia, and now Ahsoka's T-6 shuttle does it against this turbolaser barrage. Obvious plot armor is obvious.
Underestimating the power of larger scale shield generators there bruh. Not everything's made of Starfighter.
@@katomamundara8106 No, I'm not underestimating anything. Any weapon that ineffective causes me to not be able to suspend my disbelief. It's like the joke about stormtroopers not being able to hit anything.
@@highseasbanditry "That ineffective" - Again, you are underestimating shield strength. Took hundreds of pelts from Turbolasers to still fail to pierce a shield in the classic trilogy on a battleship (See: battle of Endor). This amount's about reasonable. These shields are MEANT TO BE HARD TO BREAK. This isn't a video game where shields are made of twoply.
@katomamundara8106 both the T-6 and Phantom 2 are Clone wars Era shuttles. The Eye has newly installed turbolasers and a reactor big enough for 7 super star destroyer hyperdrive cores
Excellent episode Filoni slowly planting the seeds for Sabine to harness the Force by the end of the series
Meanwhile Ahsoka fighting in space be like: “I’ll try spinning, that’s a good trick!"
You’re the only sw creator I will ever watch bro, I’ve seen so many channels dogging this episode and they have no fucking clue about any of the lore. Thanks for keeping it real.
Was worried a bit with the slow start, but it honestly serves as a lot of explanation for the casual viewers. From the midpoint on though, it’s pure Star Wars. Loved the action and visuals and especially marrok’s voice… can’t wait for the Forrest battle next episode
I actually liked the beginning too. To me it's always refreshing to see some training that a jedi goes through. And ahsoka explains the force very well even though Sabine doesn't seem force sensitive
Great episode. The only negative I really have is how short it was needed about 10 more minutes but other than that I like how it built up for episode four
I agree. This was the most classic Star Wars Ive seen in a while, it felt like to me. Generally, the whole show has been giving that classic feeling-
Ezra training his master’s son Jacen would literally make me squeal with excitement.
Or more like a season 3 moment 😂 hope jacen doesn’t pull a jaden solo and go rogue. Still that would make a nice story too I guess
@@PapaGrizzGaming Same man, Rebels crew is a family. Jacen already has the thickest plot armor with Chopper as his babysitter. 💀
Ahsoka echoes Kanan's words about Sabine's ability to tap into the Force. Sabine is blocking her own progress due to being too "Mandelorian" and stubborn. Sabine is getting setup to be a huge part of this story. I loved this episode.
I'm newish to your content but I have to say I absolutely love pretty much everything I have seen. the way you explain everything is amazing. always look forward to your videos
Midichlorian count is a major factor, in my opinion. From George's explanation, I understood them to be like mitochondria and the photosynthesis process in plants, where plants use photosynthesis and the sun to produce food, midichlorians use the living force to produce usable force that the being can then use to do things such as moving a cup, as Ahsoka demonstrates in the latest episode. I also think it is this process that is related to Anakin's birth. Like, what if Shmi was force sensitive, but because of her life she was never trained as a Jedi and never had any knowledge of her gifts, so the usable force produced by the midichlorians just got stored up to the point that the force affected her in such a way that, through her, a new life was created, Anakin Skywalker, a child of the force.
midichlorian count means nothing without training or study of the force. anakin is supposed to have a higher midichlorian count than luke but lukes study of the force and guidance from those before him makes him far superior than his father
@@WeeaboohJones except plants are none sentient beings with absolutely zero brain function and mobility of body.
i really like that everyone is force sensitive, but to different extents. it makes more sense than the force arbitrarily selecting people to communicate with
This is worse than Broom Boy. Broom Boy just implied that you didn't need famous parents to be gifted with the force. This implies that you don't need to have innate talent to wield the force, you can just train hard enough and one day you'll be a Jedi too. Then what the hell was the purpose of midichlorian counts? Why is the robot ignored when he points out that Sabine has the lowest force potential of any candidate he's ever seen?!
@@veeclash4157because everyone has the force in them like every single person has midochlrians .. like anakins you don’t need to know his count to know he’s incredibly strong but Sabine didn’t even know she had force potential
@@Monokazie But if you have 100 and I have 5 on the midichlorian count, that is supposed to represent how much of the Force we are able to access. I would be much, much weaker than you. Sure training, talent play a large role in *maximizing* the potential that you have; I could be making use of all 5 midichlorians worth of 'bandwidth' to the force through rigorous training whereas you are only using 70 percent of your total possible talent; you'd still be much stronger.
I am even more convinced that Balen and Shin are Dark Jedi now. Balen and Shin both seem to have a Jedi like focus in how they carry themselves and use the force (which only makes sense seeing Balen was a Jedi). Shin is young, but the control and focus she showed through the dog fight...no crazy rage or recklessness...really was impressive! I don't think Balen wants to kill Ahsoka....I think he wants her to join him! Maybe he wants to create his own Dark Jedi Temple, and thinks that Ashoka could be turned (seeing she was Anakin's apprentice) and used to benifit his plans, but doesn't want to let that be known quite yet. It will be interesting to see how things unfold.
Big Rebels fan and it was so good to see Jacen. He had a similar shoulder armor to the one Kanan had in season 1-2.
So excited for him to be one of Luke’s first students! I hope the Jedi academy becomes a great place for young Jedi to train! Who knows, maybe one day Han and Leia will have a kid who could join him there!
You know what the funny thing is? For a short episode, your breakdown was nearly 10 minutes shorter and I love it!
Anyone else come straight here after watching the episodes every week? 😆 obviously have to wait for our guy to post but geez i love the content & the break downs of each episode!
If I’m not wrong, Xiono wasn’t killed on the attack of the first order from Star killer base, in season two of Star Wars resistance there is a holo call between him and his son.
Also cool things that I noticed are:
1. The Zatochi training as it is called by Ahsoka or Huyang, where the learning padawan has to be blindfolded to hone their intuition, which is a reference to the samurai film Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman
2. Baylan's pose at the end reminds me of what Vader typically does when in deep thought. Making me think that he is essentially what Vader is supposed to be or look like if he hadn't lost the duel on Mustafar.
Yeah, had he actually won or at the very least survived with his skin/limbs intact, he'd have to rely on emotional pain moreso than physical, he'd be even more conflicted just as Baylan is.
This episode was literally best bit of star wars for me since 7th season of clone wars.
Sabine needs to be like the blind guy from Solo. Just has faith in the force and let’s it guid her. That would be great.
Did anyone else question how Ahsoka got her "helmet thing" on so quickly and off even quicker 😂 Can we get a theory on what kind of technology her helmet uses to cover her in that scene lol
shes had the ship for years and is a common species in star wars so id assume shes owned a full personal suit for years if not longer and that shes decent at putting it on and taking it off
Well you see the helmet is composed of the special q molecules that antman uses so that his suit can shrink or expand along with him when he uses his super powers... wait, wrong universe? Who knows! LOL, the helmet was probably just a custom job. Twileks are a thing in Star Wars after all. Each alien species probably has their own 'faction shop'. LOL
She can just put it on. Like it’s possible to get dressed in 10 seconds if your going fast.
These comments are exactly whay I think, but I think they should've added that in as a quick scene! Wouldve been so cool to see some nano tech or something.
Loved the fight scene and felt when the slices showed in the light it was Filoni explaining the saber bouncing off of storm troopers due to the wielder using the side of the blade rather than its cutting edge
THEORY: When I saw Marrok react to the Pergill and then Shin was shown to have tunnel vision on ashoka. I think that implies that she is dead set on impressing Baylon, and when he inevitably turns to the light, she will be crushed and may be the one to kill him.
Actually I believe this CONFIRMED the theory that Ezra is actually the man behind Marrok's mask. He has a special connection to Purrgills and would have had a visible reaction upon seeing them.
@@veeclash4157 definitely not, any other person would react to the giant space whales that travel through hyper space that are definitely uncommon across this galaxy. Shin is the outlier by not caring about these majestic creatures. I don’t think the Ezra theory makes any sense at all.
What if Elsbeth isn’t going to attach a ship to the ring? It has a command deck. What if the ring itself can make the trip to the other galaxy and Elsbeth half expects Thrawn to have some massive ship or fleet ready to dock with the ring and return to the Star Wars galaxy 😮
Well maybe Thrawn fixed the star destroyer he was on when he was hyperspaced to the other galaxy so thats why she has the giant ring to bring him and his ship back
It thought it was Meh and I respect you for holding the flag brother
Amazing Kurosawa inspired episode. That training sequence serves as both world building as well as setting up Sabine’s character arch. As a martial artist I appreciate the form and technique showcased by the actors while sparing. Much improved from the Sequel Trilogy baseball bat lightsaber fights. Also, I loved the space dog fight. Brilliant episode. It had the wonder and innocence of Lucas era Star Wars. I have high hopes for the rest of this season. I just hope they keep building up to a satisfying climax.
it's interesting how intriguingly emotionaless Ahsoka seems so far, expecting a great scene in the future where she lets her feelings show on a greater level.
@@CaseyPriceForsakenheroit’s almost like she’s seen some shit, what do you mean 😂
@@Mannequin22 I feel like most characters have awkward acting in the show so far. I still like the show it’s better than kenobi but I’ve still got issues with it
@Mannequin22 even rebels ahsoka has a lot more emotion in her responses and discussions etc. Not hating it. I love it. She just seems more shut off than before
Nice to see an online vid/review that enjoys this series! I’ve been thrilled so far! We truly have to most toxic fanbase in the universe! 🤦♂️
As someone who hasn't watched any animated series I feel pretty lost with what's going on, I don't think this show is for me. Feels a little silly like the protagonists are just flying through this easy with shields, lightsabering on the wing, feels ridiculous. I imagine same vibes to the kids animated series.
I think the lesson to be learned here is that what works in a kids cartoon doesn’t always translate to live action.
This was a really good episode. Ahsoka is grounded as a Master, good job Rosario Dawson! Also, seeing the apprenticeship in a series is super interesting.
I wish the purgills had smashed those fighters 😉
Also, the cinematography is gorgeous.
3:29 Yes...!!!!👍 I got all teary eyed while remembering Luke's training on board the Milenium Falcon.
13:20 Sabine jumps into the gun turret during the dogfight, giving me more flashbacks of a new hope 👍👍🎉
I personally don't think the Plo Koon theory makes sense. As Ahsoka being a good friend of Plo Koon, there's no way she wouldn't have known his apprentice. And she didn't seem to have any significant reaction to hearing his name earlier in the series.
retconning sabine to be force sensitive is the worst. So many loopholes in rebels.
I think the most of George that made it into this production was whatever beard hair the custodial crew swept off of it
Yes! Thank you! I didn't understand all the hate on this episode or even the show in general that I was seeing last night. This is the most Star Wars show to be produced by Disney so far and I love it! I was so worried that this episode was going to suck and be unnecessary filler, but Dave was able to add enriching context to the season in a very short period of time. I'm really looking forward to the next episode!
I really loved Huyang's line "long list of untraditional Jedi" because you can trace that all the way back to Dooku. So many references!!
Ahsoka - >Anakin ->Obiwan - > Qui-Gon -> Dooku. The only "traditional" Jedi in this line is Obiwan. Everybody else had unique outlooks on life.
@@Xcyper33 but even Obiwan took Anakin as apprentice against the advice of the council. All out of loyalty to Qui-Gon
@@AngmarPriest and Obi-Wan had a relationship with Satine that was strictly against the Jedi Code.
Wow man I was only thinking about anakin and Qui gon, thank you for broadening my perspective on this line! I actually just got shivers lol
@@ItsAv3rageGamerobi wan may have had traditional Jedi values, but we all know he was definitely not a traditional Jedi! And that’s why he is so beloved!
