Being in a open relationship is like doing 100 mph, you could drive like that for a while even for years you might make all the right turns running smoothly but your eventually gonna crash and someone gonna get hurt or even worst, either someone gonna fall in love with someone else and completely ruin your relationship or someone gonna want to stop while the other person doesn’t there is jealousy from the person your sleeping with that could add drama to your relationship even violence there chances of pregnancy even when using every form of birth control also more likely than not increase your chances of a std, the only redeeming quality about open relationship is there usually complete honesty and also fulfill you urges, temptations to be with different people but if you can’t control urges as an adult really grow up but I guess different strokes for different folks but not for me

Betrayal seems disastrous and like a trust busting act. I'm an old man, been married to the same woman all my life. lack of communication or communication skill, tempers, lack of emotional intelligence, inconsiderate behavior toward the other: those seem like the chief reasons couples bust up. All that being said, when a woman wanted to sex with me, I laughingly said "with your husband's permission". I thought we were done with that topic. She got her husband's permission though. An intelligent couple could explore their options, risks, etc just like they would if they were going to an amusement park. If your wife rides an exciting scary roller-coaster, she doesn't emerge off the ride a changed person. She still loves the same things she loved before and hates the same things she hated before. Knowing yourself and understanding and appreciating the commitments you made to your wife as a partnership in friendship, love, help, caring are all key to surviving happly in my opinion. If you're happily married for more than a dozen years, you didn't marry her for her sex - and she did not marry you for your sex. You're married to her mind, and that is who you're married to.
