That's not his claim tho, if you listen to all the caveats he adds it's nearly impossible to meet his demands no matter how bold faced liars they are, so it doesn't even deserve praise for boldness. It's all just the typical weasel-speak we get from media.

Brand destroyed himself. Even Maher agreed it's a false equivalency. Maddow may of may not have told the truth, but it wasn't a consistent pattern minute by minute, day by day, year by year that we see at Fox. Many experts even agreed with her at the time. Then he just went on a rant and raised his voice.

I mean, I get your point, more Americans should be talking out for the truth in their own country, but it’s not the 1700s us British care about America and what happens in it and we want the best for the country so it’s not surprising he is talking about this. He wants a free society to exist in a west that is continuing to fall into a regime. Here in the uk, things are completely fucked, I can’t wait to leave here, our government and police have turned against us. We purposely tricked into artificial positions that keep us divided. Pro Life vs Pro Choice, Universal Healthcare or not, White Power or not, Trash Gay-Trans and etc. or Not. Make it easy, just pick a side? Doing the easy is not always the smartest thing to do. Meanwhile the real problems are hidden from plain view. Only the Rich loves Citizens United and NOTHING is done to change it.

@@stumble_leiner Because it was a false equivalence. He asked for an example where people on a news show knew the truth, communicated to others what they believed to be the truth, and then went on TV and said the exact opposite. Brand never gave a response. Ivermectin is not a COVID cure, Rachael Maddow isn't a scientist, and there's no evidence they knew differently while relaying this information to their audience.
I'll grant you that Maddow should apologize for saying that about the vaccine, but you should know that the scientists that worked on the vaccine told everyone it wouldn't prevent you from getting it, and if Maddow should apologize for saying it then FOX and others should apologize for saying the vaccine would kill you, or that it sterilizes women, or that it causes heart disease, or that it's a vector to microchip you, or that it's a hoax, or that the whole thing has been manufactured... you need to compare like with like.

He was hoping he could just distract and talk over any examples so no one would notice. Unfortunately for you sir, Russell is one of the most intellectual, well spoken, and well read people in the world. He would not say shit without being able to back it up. Unlike msnbc

He initially critiques Russell and says, “that is not a fair comparison” but after Russell mentioned joe rogan and ivermectin Maher says, “that is a pretty good example” or something similar.

Seen John Heilman on several shows for years, I can tell you exactly why he was so smug and defensive toward Russel: because he was on a show in which he wasn't being portrayed as the smartest, most clever guy in the room. Russel was clearly the smartest, most well-informed debater up there and you can see and hear the jealousy and insecurity in Heilman 's voice and posture.

He is one of many mouthpieces for ‘The Current Thing’ who pushes the narrative of The Current Thing until the next Current Thing comes along
