My person and I had always been very open and vulnerable with each other (which had been difficult for us to do with others, to the level of depth that we had). Roughly two weeks prior to our Tower Moment, I was experiencing a lot of hot and cold behavior, and did feel emotionally invalidated; which I never felt in all the years we had known each other. As I’ve written in past comments, I’m not excusing how he behaved towards me during that time. However, I have healed. I have forgiven him; and am open to having a conversation with him. Allowing him to hear that I forgive him. I am willing to give him the opportunity to move forward together.

As crappy as this might sound; I hope he truly does recognize how he hurt me. It’s not easy in life post stroke. I told him if I ask him a question to just answer directly. Making obnoxious joking answers is going to get him a blank stare. Tossing in my face that I can be obnoxious doesn’t help. Yes, I’m obnoxious at times, too, but it’s completely different. I told him I feel like I’m being mocked, no matter what the intention is. It finally came to a head when I was sick yesterday and I kinda slammed the fridge shut. He told me “I can’t have this out of you”. I told him I’ve asked him a few times to just answer me directly when I ask a question, this is my post stroke life. I get “you’re always so defensive”. That’s not me being defensive, that’s me being matter of fact. Period.
He’s had horrible exes. Hell, we both have. But that’s no reason for him to disrespect my wishes when it comes to what I ask in regards to what I have to live with as someone who’s life has changed due to a stroke. I’m not stupid. In fact, I’m still pretty damn smart. He’s even commented on that. Some things just don’t connect like they used to.
He’s not angry at me - otherwise he wouldn’t be speaking to me - and he made some things easier for me to find while I basically slept 24 hours away while sick. So perhaps things did click with him. He’s not one to really talk about things. He just changes how he does things. Honestly, I’m fine with that. My exes constantly talked in circles. I’d rather things just change for the better than talk and talk and talk. It’d still be nice to hear “I’m sorry” in some way, tho.

I did try and try to save him but was put down, undervalued - it was master servant.
We had 3 children and the family unit was destroyed.
