Thanks for addressing this topic! If you are living in an area with lots of traffic, I highly recommend a safety vest. Whether you are changing a tire on the shoulder or helping at a wreck, you don't want to get creamed. Also, if the occupants of a wreck don't seem to be in immediate danger (smell of gas, smoking engine, or precariously balanced over an abyss) don't move them. They may have spinal injuries that could leave them in a wheelchair for the rest of their life. The fire department will put a KED on their back and drag them out. Another handy tip...your basic car jack is a powerful spreading device. Work smart, not hard.
One time in the winter I slid off the road and hit a tree. The air bag was helpful and my seatbelt locked up. I was literally trapped 2 hours until a passerby stopped. So even just a pocket knife would'ved helped to cut myself free so I could check for injury or try not to freeze to death.
Very Nice Kit! So many car crash's happen each day and not enough people are prepared! With the tools you just showed us I think more people that end up in these crash's have a better chance of surviving until medical help shows up! I really like that survival tool you showed very very nice! And that life gear flash light light stick can really come in handy! Also cant beat the price! Great work and Great Kit sootch! Just subbed you!
Hey Sootch, I saw on alone wolverines channel that the reason the light is only 5 lumens is because it's used to check the patients pupils. Just thought you would like to know. Keep up the great vids!
I would actually consider throwing in a couple emergency blankets (yea the silver ones), a pair of mech gloves (incase you have to pry a door move twisted metal) and a couple regular self contained light sticks (car wreck can mean gas or to hang inside the car to make it more visable) but a good kit.
as far as stopping to help at an accident, or even breaking down yourself; it would be INCREDIBLE to test and show us what permanently mounted vehicle strobes you would recommend for the budget minded. Too few think of it. God Bless.
dsashwood Tend to agree with you. Convenience & compact. For a "Car Survival Kit" my thoughts are for something like this, if a purchased kit, within the same general price range. www.walmart.com/ip/Urban-Road-Warrior-Emergency-Kit-22-Piece-Kit/39586720#about Only a few dollars more at $75.89. Personal choice was to build our own starting with a $10 +/- first aid kit and adding other items applicable to our travel situations. BTW, there are a number of less expensive auto escape tools available. Here's an example that has reviewed quite a few good reviews. www.amazon.com/Seatbelt-Breaker-Emergency-Escape-Tool/dp/B002AMAXNA Just my 2-cents FWIW, as everyone's circumstances are different.
That's kinda pricey for what amounts to a boo boo kit. No Tourniquet, quick clot, abdominal dressings? 1 item that can be used as a pressure dressing and some tape and wrapping for small 2inch gauze? You can't pack very much wound wise with that. You for $100 I've built my kit that works well for gunshot wounds or vehicle accidents. I seriously doubt you could do much with this at all. Maybe minor wounds, but certainly nothing serious.
SensiblePrepper So my question is. I live in a cold climate. Were during winter temperstures at night routinely get down to -15 degrees. My question to you is, those packs of water. Do they freeze when you put them into the fridge??? Or are they like soda in which it takes longer because they are in a vaccum sealed enviroment??
"Drinkwasser" on the portable Water. Nice german! It should say "Trinkwasser". We germans love hard letters! Even a profession of love sounds like a war declaration in german. :P
I'm always confused when I see such Videos like this one... BEcause it seems to me that having some "emergency" (or Just first Aid) stuff having in your car isn't common in the US (Maybe I'm mistaken with that...)... It mainly confuses me, because where I live in Europe, you must have an first aid emergency kit that has to contain at least some specific items in it in your car by law... (and yes, police is controlling if you have that kind of stuff with you on routine checks :D)
JacksonOfAllTrades I was just wondering, it always seemed to me (as I was watching videos like this) that having things like first aid or some emergency stuff isn't common in the US. But good to know it is, especially if it's not enforced vy law :D
TheTyrial86 Setting up random Checkpoints for controlling the speed of passing vehicles, if the driver drunk alcohol, the existence of a standardized medkit... maybe "routine check" was the wrong word... :D
Claus Celeda Well I was just wondering is all. Police can not surch your vehical without a reason. So I was just curious is all. Thank you for responding. Have a good day or night. On your side of the world.
The flasher is too small to be seen. The knife is the only thing valuable. It's an overpriced useless first aid kit with mainly useless band aids and gauze. Okay for kids baseball games injuries but not major trauma.
I think a more accurate name for this video would be "Car Medical + Rescue Kit" or "Car crash kit". Although this gear would be useful for survival its not really survival focused.
Sootch what do you recommend I do, we have two cars and I can only afford to make one ghb can you help and explain a good reason for your solution. singed, lance
Nice video! It gave me some good ideas. Sootch, what's your opinion on Soylent? www.soylent.me/ It's marketed as a 100% nutritionally complete food replacement, just add water. It has a stable shelf life of a year, and is relatively cheap per day. Seems like it could have some utility from a prepping viewpoint.
Thanks for addressing this topic!

Definitely didn't expect the price to be as low as it was, seems like a great value, with plenty of room for your own additions. Thumbs up, Sootch!
I love all of your fire videos and all of your survival kits. Thank you very much. I appreciate your help. Keep up the good work!!!
At 7:23 "whatever sootch your needs" hahaha nice one sootch.
I've got one for my wife's car that I bought at a Canadian Tire here in Canada and agreed, very impressed with the contents and quality.

Been waitin' for this kind of video about car survival kit! Thanks!
I just did a review on their Auto Rescue Knife
I think swapping one of the ice packs for a QuickClot type product would be helpful.
Great pack. That T3 Tactical Rescue Tool looks interesting as well :)
They sell the first aid kit without the tool (but with the case) for $40 as well.
Definitely better than most of the pre made kits at stores.
i am sorry, but that is a pretty minor kit that I can make at walmart for half the price. I don't see how its worthy of a review.

I bought that T3 online but I didn't know about the kit. Statgear also has an "EMT Tool" too. The T3 by itself costs about $40.00.
Nice kit! Could always add to it...but a pretty good start!
Whatever Sootch you're needs :)
tjats sweet i think ur one of the best youtubers on youtube
as far as stopping to help at an accident, or even breaking down yourself; it would be INCREDIBLE to test and show us what permanently mounted vehicle strobes you would recommend for the budget minded. Too few think of it. God Bless.
as always great video!! gotta a few ideas for my own kit.
Nice review video. Thanks for sharing.
Kind of a weak kit in my opinion..I feel like for the price I can make one that's better. I guess it's convenient though...

Thanks man i like your reviews
The Life Gear flashlight also has a whistle on the end. Just take the cap off and there it is.
great video ,cheers from norway.

I have one of those glow stick/torch lights. I got three from somewhere.

"Drinkwasser" on the portable Water. Nice german!

4th but I got to get ready for school I'll watch it on the Bus.
I've been looking for something like this for my car.
SensiblePrepper there is an emergency wistle on the end of the life gear light stick and they do have them in red I, have one
Not a bad kit, but for the price I can make own that's better.
Carson017 Obviously. You always pay for convenience in pre-assembled kits.

Many people in the US do keep emergency items in their cars, but it's certainly not enforced by law.

Claus Celeda What quantifies as a routine check????

The name and the logo somehow reminds me of star trek. O_o
:D
Nice feature of that light. :D
There is also another one for 40.00$ that has everything except the knife.
The flasher is too small to be seen. The knife is the only thing valuable. It's an overpriced useless first aid kit with mainly useless band aids and gauze. Okay for kids baseball games injuries but not major trauma.

Nice emergency kit but def not worth the price, i like the tool to brake the glass..
What did you add?
now i have this kit ready i only need a car.
Sootch what do you recommend I do, we have two cars and I can only afford to make one ghb can you help and explain a good reason for your solution.
singed, lance
6:30 needs a cordage so you can make a light halo...
That's a lot of accidents
Disappointing for the price.
Love your videos though. I have used a lot of your ideas in building my own first aid/survival kit.
I clearly meant one.
Do any of you know what vet wrap is
Just an fyi for everyone .. this is a link to the web sight to buy the led glow sticks from the video. :)

More of a boo boo kit and for 40 bucks that's way to much
I wouldn't use this kit...
