---------------------
In this clip, DJ Paul talked about his outlook on the current hip-hop landscape with artists like Lil Yachty and the mumble rap craze. He also discussed the Tekashi 6ix9ine phenomenon and how he agrees that he possesses a similar energy to Onyx.
Later on, DJ Paul praised Master P calling him the "smartest" rapper in the world outside of maybe Eazy E. He spoke about how rappers would be afraid to drop records the same day as anything Master P put his stamp of approval on, whether his own project or one of his artists. DJ Paul said either way it was going platinum and other rappers took notice, often changing their release dates to avoid him.
Bout Time Master P Get Credit For What He Did To The Music Industry & Beyond
King L.A. Smith the white folk don’t like how he hustle them
Real Talk
@@leach713 lol facts I just literally posted that
Master P was the first person to get out the hood all 3 ways:
He sold dope
He was a rapper
He played in the NBA
#hoodgoat #reallegend
TONEakaSHOW most underrated comment on here💯
BIG FACTS
The trinity!
He didn't play in the NBA really. He played preseason and that was more for marketing
Chrisaaad
Did he get paid to play?
Was he in an NBA uniform?
Then stfu hater
Uncle Luke kicked the doors in ,J Prince and Tony draper held the fort down , then Master P came with his army and took the war to another level that's how the South Won 21 years strong.

That's why Eazy E and Master P on top of my list... often underrated and disregarded which is a damn shame
Every young black man should look at Master P as being a businessman not just as a rapper . Dude was a genius
B Amos85 should Asians and hispanics too? What about white people?
Chrisaaad anybody could
Well said.
B Amos85 OK thanks
he learned from j. prince
Master P is the pioneer of the indie Hustle! Were following his blueprint rite now to this day! Outsmarted the Industry! #TrilleTalk
Sunshine Z TV great minds think alike 💪
Coop DaTrille Sure did
And Master P is following the J Prince blueprint the originator of the 80/20 rule in hip-hop music
Marques Williams I'm hip! J-prince is a legend foreal! And makes low key boss moves!
Master P 😆😆
DJ Paul your a LIVING LEGEND!!!! Please don't ever compare yourself to lil yachti!!!!
Glad he mentioned eazy e as well! People sleep on his GENIUS! #TrilleTalk
Coop DaTrille just think after BONE THUGS what he could have came with.
Chris Sams man! He was gonna take Bone to another level. And I think he would've got his hands into Rock n Roll.
He had a deal for a eazy e Super Nintendo game way before everybody and “ruthless bass shakers” before he died.
BrxRck I'm hip! And that game "Hitting Switches" he was bringing out looked just like Grand theft auto 🤔
Eazy E birthed the biggest names in rap... Dre,snoop,Eminem, Snoop, nwa and so on
Lets be honest not just Master P but them producers for no limit made that label nobody had beats that banged as hard as them no limit beats back then
Andrew Price
Word.
Beats By The Pound certainly had a way with using heavy percussion.
Mmm
That no limit soldier beat went hard
FACTS.. late 90's.. the beats Even made Silk tha shocka sound cold.
"Beats by the Pound" when P lost that production team after ghetto d he started falling off didnt sound thesame no more. I got tru on my stomach. I been down wit no limit since ghettos trin to kill me 94. Mamas bad boy. No limit forever
Master p paved the way for hip-hip to get real money nobody wasn’t getting real money until master p came out .

CHRIS KARSSEBOOM then how was eazy worth 50 mill when he died?
Damn who else feels like Vlad been interviewing Dj Paul all month...lol
Hope your not complaining
DearDenverPodcast Complaining about what? I like these interviews because he goes in depth with the questions, I just wished he uploaded the full videos instead of a bunch of 8-10 minute clips.
Jose Delgado paul is the man though
Blackbottomquise I never said he wasn't. I love Three Six Mafia. This is about all the short videos Vlad been uploading before everyone starts bashing me I just wished they were longer.
It seems like he released a full vid of DJ Paul not too long ago but keeps giving these short vids lol
Suge had Pac and Snoop. Puff had Big. P outsold all those CEO's and he was the biggest star on the label and he was the best rapper CEO.
TopShelf Diddy full of shit wouldn't pay his artist
TopShelf best rapper CEO fuck outta here with that bullshit
he aint lyin
TopShelf Mystikal???
Mystikal really blew up after No limit tho
There hasn't been a record label since No Limit Records distribution by Priority Records where regardless of album sales they put out an album either every week or two or every month. Especially in the spring of 1997-2000.
Gotta admit, P turned 1k into millions. His hustle game is phenomenal.
Echadh 10 K
E-40. Great businessman as well.
40 still waiting on that check on that liquor deal though, it made money but the cat he was partnered with, murdered an investor and killed himself in Napa. But yes, 40 a great businessman.
On 2Wheels No shit?
E 40 show master p the game
Yep, there was a CBS 48 hours about it. Some Napa Valley winery/brewer mogul who was actually a Ponzi con artist.
www.cbsnews.com/news/48-hours-investigates-a-tale-of-money-wine-and-murder-in-napa-valley/
E-40 used his first Jive Contract to buy a $3 million dollar house in 1993. That house is worth $45 Million now
I just appreciate Paul & these interviews. I love how Paul shows love to these new artists. Even if I think they are horrible, I like how he always has been a fan of rap music and hip hop.
Master P was the greatest hustler to ever come into the hip hop game.. he the reason why pretty much everyone rapping now. Trying to get rich quick. He also the reason Albums have more than 10-12 songs on it. He was the first one putting out 18-20 tracks on a album. He also the reason everyone dropping so many projects in a year. Used to be an album every 8-12 months.
Now we need a Percy Miller interview
Jeffery Hatter tell Vlad to get up with me
Master P lmao
If lil yachty is really in today's top 5 rappers hip hop is really in trouble.
allan fulton hell yeah he might be a good person but his flow is well way below avg.😂😂😂😂😂
slofever512 he's fake
cortez smith i know lol
For the kids not us old heads
Lol he isn't even top 20 in today's hip hop
About time Eazy gets credit! There would be no such thing as Hip Hop because it all had a gangster influence after him
God's Chosen People ice cube
TheBg29st He was a kid
Master P's biggest mistake was firing Beats by the Pound. Never put out any bangers after they were gone.
High Impact Cranium Penetration I agree. They still put out bangers but it just wasn’t the same.
Didnt fire them , they left. They were used to dealing with P when they had a problem but P was playing ball in Fort Wayne so that communication wasnt there anymore.
Ehhhh trapped in crime by c murder, streets made me by Soulja slim and world war 3 by Mac were all classics post beats by the pound era
Not true they put out some bangers
Actually he did put out hits after that
Master p know the business
Master P sign me I just need 1 chance no money
What's your Ig do you have music out
Master P I'm in UA-cam type in kissing kush play the album that's was all free style but it's good I can do better
Master P open.spotify.com/album/4STuVgSDjo9at2JXyp3xNC
Master P when is mia x coming out?
P could have signed me and made me a platinum artist. All No Limit albums was basically compilation albums
Young Doggie
I respectfully disagree.
The solo albums had a lot of features, but the personality of the artist still shined through on the project.
BLACK MAN So Skull Dugery and Lil Italy were good artists?
Young Doggie
Not really.
Now that I think about it, SD sounded like a rip off of Scarface.
LI was alright. Nice guy, though. I met him once back when I was a kid in middle school.
BLACK MAN x
The No Limit run was crazy in the South I remember when I stayed in Alabama dudes had the TRU tattoos lol
I had the master p action figure he came with army camo fit 😁😁 shit even lil romeo and a few other rappers had bags of chips lol
nigga you gay
Yung pop909 nigga. I was 19 when started blowing up. How old was u and Vlad? 😁😁😁😂😂😂
Master P really used the music platform to expand his career in many other ways.
Master p is the 🐐
JayJay_foo - Sure am
Something different about the N. O. mentality. P built a rap empire and he isn't even a good rapper. Tyler Perry built an empire and his movies aren't great and he can't act. Both of these dudes went to the negotiation table with leverage though. They did it the right way. From the ground up. They invested in themselves so reaped a bigger reward than people going to the table asking for deals. Spike Lee can say what he wants about Tyler Perry but Tyler never had to start a go fund me to try and get a movie made. The tripped out part is I like Spike's movies a lot more but Tyler is obviously the smarter business man.
Jason Stewart Well Said, That’s 💯!
Jason Stewart tyler did a LOT to get that far...
Ever heard of Ghetto's trying yo kill me?
@@Vilkkuz that's a dope ass album..P was dope, it was just easy to hate on him because he was such a boss and knew how to get bread. It's a lot of rappers that's not super lyrical and people hold them up high.
every time jay z or diddy get praised for being great businessman in hip hop when actually master p dwarfs them and without master p they wouldnt be as rich as they are now
Master P the last Don! The No Limit days were crazy💣🔪🔫
Santo Trafficante Boss
I still vividly remember people in the hood blasting NO LIMIT music from their car stereos.
Fun times.
They had shit on lock back then.
P dropped a album every week . Literally every week for 2yrs
We were buying all of them
Thanks for the eazy e mention
Yea master p was smart af but 3'6 mafia was hot back then one of my fav rap groups
Donte Oliver check out my remakes bro. you won't be disappointed...
3-6 might have as much money as P. They got all of their publishing outright. 🤔🤔🤔
Ch. 2 World Domination, The End.
DJ Paul shouting out KLC/Beats By The Pound and Vlad talking over it... Vlad need to interview KL or Fiend or smthn
😂 @ 3:19 , Vlad had to be about 25 when he bought that doll.
lol
😂😂😂😂😂 Paul said P made them other fools change their release date!!! I don't doubt it all ALL!!! I STILL bump that No Limit TODAY!! Ghetto D STAY in rotation!!!
Who remember Dj Paul winning that cooking show about ppl opening up their own restaurant about 8 years ago? Juicy j got turned up and left the show before the finale
mav stevens lmao nigga was kickin signs and shit
Just mad he wearin the golden ticket from Willy wonka
I have to agree with the Master P theory... I only purchased 1 or 2 of No Limit Records albums and they were albums no one else was interested in, but I did see how Master P "regulated" the industry when it came to selling records.
Memphis, Houston, and Louisiana is and will always be the REAL sound of southern hiphop, not ATL. Atlanta just made southern rap more popular, but most southerners, especially on the western half of the south, still listen to Master P and no limit, UGK, 8ball&MJG, 3-6 mafia, Boosie/webbie, Scarface, etc. East Coast rap isnt that big in most parts of the South....
all truth to that..
We don't consider Atlanta the south, they are east coast, check their time zone
Abraham Robles Big Facts
yup. Im from Texas and 3-6, Master P, 8ball n MJG plus Boosie always got mad love here. can't say the same for acts outta ATL.
A.J. Abdullah I hate how Memphis swear they not in TN I was in the feds in Cali and they was hard on dem Memphis niggas Dey was tryna get the whole state but when it come time dey be like Memphis and not TN. Bitch shit
Ice Cube up there, too...
Lucy's Pearl but he came under eazy e blue print
YoungBlaze - If memory serves, they beefed and Cube branched off into his own. Can't honestly say Eazy made the Cube we know of today.
YoungBlaze He Wrote For Eazy How Was He Under His Blueprint?
Jalen Bryant - That, too.
Cube is the G.O.A.T.
Master P learned from Eazy, Too $hort, and E-40.
HipHopR&BLover Jon And Jt The Bigga Figga
Now that's true u know shit
HipHopR&BLover Jon and Jay Prince....Master P seen J Prince in the club n ask him how was he making his money...J Prince told him Music Industry and the rest is history....
GFM Nothing Else Matters Word. P has said that in a few interviews
No your wrong
36 does habe lyrical ability though, specifically Lord Infamous, R.I.P....but style, flow, charisma, and insane production is what made them legendary
Everybody wanted a No Limit Chain back in the 90s. As well as the Cash Money piece & chain. Louisiana couldn’t do any wrong back then
I looked up to master P as a teenager in the 90s. I still look up too and respect master P. Why you think I have his pic as my profile pic?🤷
People sleep on No Limit artist. Alot of them had original style and Talent. Don't pay attention to the Silkk the Shockers and Lil Romeo's and Make Say Ugghs.. Listen to the Macs, Fiends, Soulja Slim, Kane n Abel, Mia X and Mr. Serv on. No limit was a classic label with classic talent. Plus the production was solid.
DJ Paul seems real chill, not a hater.
R.I.P Lord Infamous & Koopsta Knicca
NO LIMIT FOREVER
BrxRck Forever 💪💪
Paul I would put u & juicy up there with P cause three 6 mafia is just as legendary as No Limit
Master P these Rappers’ “Uncle” & “Business Mentor” in this Rap Industry! 💯💯💯💯💯
Vlad you're not a "Hip Hop guy"
You're a journalist, relax.
Dawg Pederson do you know he also a dj look up the biggie and 2pac mixtape he did....fire...
oscar navejar does being a dj mean your a hip hop guy? Im asking for a friend
Hahahahaha
Dawg Pederson well he was a dj first that hip hop and use vinyl not a computer..that hip hop
Dawg Pederson according to Joe budden he a hip hop guy not a journalist guess everyone has an opinion
We have been praising Master P for years but if it weren’t for J Prince there would be no blueprint! P said it himself
Was never a huge threesix fan aside from their main songs, definitely remember hearing sippin on some sizzurp on that old tv channel "the box", but DJ Paul is becoming one of my favorite interviewees. Smart, humble, funny and self aware.
Thank you
Master P get your fake profile ass outta here
Young Doggie 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Young Doggie Ughhhhhh
Y’all forgetting about e40
Crazy coming back watching this interview yatchy is a crazy writer. Now seeing who all he written for. Back in the day I would’ve said hell nah but he up there with the writing
Master P always kept it real REAL LIFE music and lyrics 💯
true master p is like almost the president of rap
DJ Paul changed my opinion on this new rap shit. I'm a start giving the new shit a break now after hearing this interview. Now... am I'm going out to buy any of this mumble rap and other shit!!! Now I ain't quite there yet!
And he's right. P does what he does
J prince and Dame dash to!
Eazy e and master p are the two guys that I can call the godfather's of hip hop💯💯💯
"They weren't the most lyrical group"are you kidding me go listen to project Pat mista don't play then say that.

"DJ Paul is a dog, one you do not trust!"
Joe King u love him tho
YoungBlaze it's a lyric idiot
Young Doggie 😂😂😂 That made me laugh! YoungBlaze, I wasn't really saying that, hence the quotation marks.
“I gotta stay Fly-iiiiiiii-till-I-Die-iiiiiiii!”

My Ninja Paul!!! Here is a Man with Integrity,Ingenuity,Diplomacy!!!! The minute U start talkin down on ANYBODY,without just cause, especially if They arent around, thts whn things wnt go right 4 U,leave these Young Guys alone, let Them do Them
You can tell Paul wasn't feeling when Vlad said P was putting out quantity over quality. Most of the albums were good. I thought Skull Duggery was a terrible rapper but his album was actually good because the features.
Vlad: "So what you think of boo boo Mcfly music?"
DjPaul : "Yea I like him he dope"
😭😭😭😂😂😂😂
fast forward 5 years and master p is now a cereal salesman
A bra Salute DJ Paul talking dat shit 💯 OG shit..Salute Master P
Wow, one of my top favorite artist I grow up to (DJ Paul), talk about another one of my favorite artist (Master P).

Yeah we need that No Limit series Vlad. Mia X, Fiend, KLC, Mr Serv On, Mystikal (He just came home), just to name a few

Vlad you need to do the no limit interviews. Everyone you can find from the bay, new Orleans, priority, suave house, rap a lot etc
R.I.P. XXX
The only reason I'm debating on checking out any of weirdo 69's music is because Paul said it was official but I'm still might pass.
