HEY FAM CHECK IT OUT! 🔥 Funky Turntablism: REMASTERED ->>> ua-cam.com/video/E35SU7BeTxU/v-deo.html
My man! You are the king! This is the video that made me want to learn how to DJ! If you don't mind, could I perform this routine?
Killin it bro! So smooth
I hate how late I am
HEAT⚠️🔥🔥
bro after 9 years you still here
Thank s
Many people call themselves DJs these days, when all they do is fade tracks from a laptop. So happy that the original breed of DJs still lives on.
Amazing. This is REAL DJing.
👍
now, this is a real DJ
Finally a real DJ with the hands on the vinyl and not on the knobs
Yes on the vinyl destroying the grooves of the record
@@nemesis8195 boo hoo vinyl purist
@@jacobpeck9372 yeah, when your favorite Illimatic first pressing or your favorite straight outta compton first pressing album isn't playable anymore you should consider becoming one too
@@nemesis8195 Let people do what they want with THEIR records, if you don't like it go cry in your safe space
Honestly, vinyl was CONSTRUCTED to withhold it's integral form, so it can withstand overall wear. Whew! 😣 Basically, with all things, they don't wear down with regular playing, but much more with "cuttin' & scratchin'". If ANY DJ wants to mix with them, and get butts on the dance floor, MORE POWER TOO YOU!!! 💖
Wow 3.30! Is he using a sticker to jump back the needle to create a loop!
Daniel Rodgers Good catch - you can hear a slight thump at times - Nice!
Daniel Rodgers Didn't notice that wow that's crafty!
S!!!!!!cki wit it @3:30 with the sample loop
+Daniel Rodgers And? This is what real turntablist did with real vinyl before the digital bullshit!
Wonderful! definitely one of the best analog turntablists in recent years
yeah you won't find a set like this thats been made in the last five or so years
This man is still liking comments. legend
He is indeed 😎
1:26 was hard asf. The way that scratch was slowly fading in.
ok, this is an art form. This shit is jaw-dropping. I hate watching modern dj's just bump their head up and down just turning some knobs on an mp3 song
+Harry D. Truth
Turntablism is a lost art form
+Harry D. Well.
There are more and more possibilities of automating some of the moves and all is left to do is pressing a button for an analogical process. (Of course for beat matching programs are still in their child days, but improvements are on their way).
would you beleive angelo has never even battled? dont interest him.....
Skillz
You are very Disc Jokey👑
Look everyone! No button pushing! So refreshing to see this.
As a guitarist of many years i've never really given much thought to Turntablism (not out of any notion of disrespect or anything) . Never saw it hands on like this and god damn that just blew my mind. that sounded incredible and there was so much going on, i think i would like to try my hand at learning this. very inspiring.
It’s such a rush it’s like a drug when your physically manipulating the music and when the speakers are loud and your moving that music through the air ! Man it’s so amazing feeling and when people who hear it love it even better . The opposite of that is when you mess up a mix and it crushes you cause it doesn’t match and it’s like ahhhhhh like a punch to the face but this guy man he’s on point the entire time no bad mix no skips no nothing
I come back to this video every few months. 4:48 is pretty dope, love the crab + volume fader simultaneous combo there.
Another funky mix please!!🔥🔥
Still watching in 2019 and beyond!
Fuck that 2020
2021, hello
2021
2021
This content aged very well, you could easily pass this video as being uploaded in 2022
Unreal. It's now on my favourite list.
DJ Angelo, thank you for keeping the real art of turntablism. I feel very proud when I see pros like you who kept the original sound of analog scratching on two chanel mixer. As a former DJ myself, I used analog Stanton, KAM and Vestax tables and 4 chanel Behringer mixer or 2 chanel Rane mixer and I scratched the shit of my tables during my gigs in Bulgaria. I stayed away from Final Scratch and Serato. I played my gigs by memory , knew each single record, where to drop the needle, where was the break. I played 1980s break beat, techno, house, UK classics from Tony Thomas to Frankie Knuckles and John Digweed. Please, keep the art of analog dj- ing alive and please keep making more mixes like these , they sound innovative and fresh.Much respect from USA .
Nothing better than some old school RECORD SCRATCHING!!!
I wish there were more DJs like this around. REAL DJs.
Been 8 years and the comments section is about 3 days old whats happening!? Is Turntablism comin back? So fukin fresh
Turntablism never went away, but the use of vinyl is becoming increasingly popular again.
the smudges on the mixer tells you the amount of time and effort he spends to master his craft.
talk about dedication.......
#respect
This video is 8+ years old and I see comments hours and days ago! Shows that people still like skilled musicians and crisp turntabism.
Some of us are seeing this for the first time.👏
Will never die for me!!
This. the OG is way better than stupid EDM shit or those skrilex type of music
Imagine this 500 years after, itll be classic will be taught in schools
Dat rythm switch on the vocal sample at 4:00 is just masterful
Now that is a real dj. No laptop or controller.
richierich9696 yeah keeping it old school true dj style
A controller does the same thing. It takes just as much skill to operate either
It's still fire tho
Ladies and gentlemen, THIS is a real mix!!! A true dj.
People these days don’t appreciate the hard work put into “marking” your vinyls using tape, now the digital turn tables does all the work for you
I can't believe UA-cam only recommended me this just now. This is an amazing performance! I'm a new fan!
I cant believe YT fkked this up with their copyright sh1t.
3:30 WOW
Revisiting this video years later, it's still insane. This is real DJing
Me too !
Still great in 2024 ❤
Ong I been watching since I was in middle school
Hehehe... Crazy "number one dj"! Yes indeed! your Skills On the point and so Many analog Cue Points
Peace
This is the definition of cool litteraly
Nice! I haven't seen no one do this on real vinyl in a while. lot of Dj's use Virtual dj and serato and other programs which nothing is wrong with that but to see someone change up records in their set is a whole different game and he's not looking at a laptop while he's doing it. Now you got special effects mixers and whatever, this was refreshing.
Complete. Needle drop stickers all over the records, static burns from practicing in the same spot over & over again. Switching real vinyl. Adjusting volume. Tweaking the pitch shift. Juggles, scratching & mixing. No effects with buttons. All with the hands.
No pre-production, which is what all the battles have become now; leading to👉who has the best engineer/producers & has to do the least amount of work during the battle.
I SINCERELY miss the days of a TRUE battle hardened turntablist.
Stoked to see some still keep it alive!!!!!
DJ's today can not do this! they TRASH!!! >>> DJ ANGELO diffrent CLASS!
this is the best turntable video ever
1:15 just killed me inside bro wtf that's so clean
Same bro
That sick "Manual Echo-out"
This style of DJing is becoming a lost art. Thanks for keeping it alive.
i was like 16 when i first saw this. now im 22 this never gets old 💕💕🇵🇭
NEW VIDEO ON MY CHANNEL! "Analog vs Digital"
+DJ ANGELO really nice work, man
YOU are the Number 1 DJ!
This is fucking art.
Dude.... I have watched this clip very many times... This set was a passion piece, all vinyl beginning to end in 2011... With all the technology that was available then.... This is the last set executed like this in very many years... #MADMADMADMADRESPECT....
You can do it
After all these years, I still think this is the most well thought-out and skilled routine ever performed......
This is *Real DJ,* not those that plays music with Virtual DJ in auto-mode
Richard WILSON gatekeeper
@@mafianskyt9445 Exactly, these people are simply nostalgic and will hate modern stuff just because it isn't done the way it was done like 40 years ago.
I must have seen this at least 50 times & I still love it 😊 D.J. Angelo PLEASE do a few more of these videos... maybe even a 30 minute set or longer. I can’t get enough of this type of DJing!
Same!!!
Dude I’ve been askin this for years!!!!
Have never understood why DJs like Angelo don't have a net worth of $40 million but if you can shake your fist in the air or able to make heart signs using your hands, then you're worthy of making big money.
Mike Cola because he has skills and all no doubt but this is not music which you can dance to, PRODUCERS like Martin Garrix tiesto KSHMR earn that much because they PRODUCE danceable music which people actually like to listen. I hope you know why I’m emphasising on PRODUCERS.
@@tesseractgamer7341 people dont dance to Tiesto. They stand around and take selfies
Yeah... It’s really niche now and you need a very specific crowd to vibe to this. But if I had this skill (I’m learning), I would just share with the masses online like Angelo.
Bud is still pinning comments after TWELVE years. 👏👏
I love it when the beat drops at 2:49. Got that old school feel to it. Much love, Dj Angelo.
Raw!!!! No effects or dvs or cues
Can we appreciate the fact that this was made 11 years ago and he is still hearting comments?
Ye, and yours was only 8hrs before mine hah
It's just great juggling. It was inspiring for me that 11yrs ago.
Just discover this video, what a banger
@@Ez2_Pr3y yeah man our music teacher played it for us!
@@Rotten_bonesXx
yo that's cool, clearly we didn't have the same music teachers at this time lmao
9 years later in the modern world, but I wanna try to go vinyl when I go forward, this is the real lit way of DJing!!!!!
12 years ago is crazy
I used to love turntablism, then it got too complex, technical and all about speed, I love future tech an moving things forward but sometimes we should jus appreciate funky grooves and awesome dedication and skills that goes into this with jus vinyl and a crossfader. I smiled all through this, might have to watch some classic kentaro now
I haven’t even heard more than 30 seconds, and I can confidently say that this is one of the best mixes on UA-cam
That's why I love old school hip hop
4:18
Sampling the whistle from "(Sittin on) The Dock Of The Bay" By Otis Redding like that is the type of shit DJing and sampling were made for. What a perfect touch.
I first saw this 4 years ago but keep coming back to it. It's still an amazing set to watch!
me to haha
I grew with this one
I come back to this video every once in a while to see this absolute masterpiece. The video that started my DJ-journey.
Twelve years ago, time sure does fly.
This. Ladies and gentlemen. Is how you DJ for real.
Absolute respect. 👏👏
After almost 10 years still blowing my mind!!
This is real djing. Not all that ddj crap. Now imagine you put this kid on those. Pioneer ddj set up. Fire
Vinyl and record marks. Thank you for keeping it real.
10 years and still this do be funkin
dude just how much skill it takes to do this is INSANE
grandmaster flash would be proud.
ayye lol that show dope as hell my bruh lol i wanna be a dj
no custom wax.... this is what im talking about. OLD SCHOOL!!!! i love it!!!!!
12 years since I liked this vid.... better than ever
Thanks for your continued support and amazing comments! NEW VID! 🔥 ua-cam.com/video/uwaYuVS6TjU/v-deo.html
DJ ANGELO How do be a good dj
Still my favorite DJ Turntablism of all time, been coming back for like 8 years LMAO
Just got a love, scratching, huh. One of the best music forms out there.
2023 and it still bumps.
i always watch this vid since 2012, always good.
even 10 years later still my favorite funky video ever
Never get tired of this
Ah yes a DJ who's actually a disc jockey.
2:40 Gang Starr - Now you are mine
Вася Нормальный YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH
You see, kids... those stickers are old school hot cues lol
The tape on the record as a cue point. maaan!, my era of djing, no digital markers. Quite simply a masterclass in pro djing/turntablism. The guys now are great at what they do in the digital age -but this is a demonstration of raw skills which I feel has been lost within the technology availiable making a lot of the skills that used to set you apart from the amateur dj, and the reason why you were a club dj in the first place, obsolete. Still, BRILLIANT SKILLS angelo. I watch this vid often and completely appreciate the skill. thanks for posting like 6 years ago!!
Almost 10 years later and you still give hearts! What a legend!
This is the video that made me want to start scratching when I was younger.
I've got a turntable now and I've been scratching nearly everyday.
Absolute legend, you can just hear the ammount of taste and work and hes making it look easy. Great work!
🙏🏽✨
Been watching this for the past 6 years. It still sounds amazing.
Honestly, I've learned more about djing from this video than a whole lot of tutorials
Yo this is the golden era music!
I never get tired watching this set
Watching?
the old school come back I love it
Actually don't know how I ended up here but I am thanking the algorithm. What I just saw was sick!
Hell yea that's that real old school style way to keep it real
when being a DJ took skill. Im 27 and i remember seeing a DJ when i was like 8 or 9 years old, and they were on vinyl. I see DJs now and they have a laptop and a beat machine in front of them and they think they're a god. This took an extreme level of skill.
tj1990 i agree bro
tj1990 i agree, the advance of technology ruined everything and just made it simpler i hate the idea of it, hard to come across this nowadays smh its straight up whack thats why im stuck in the past n shit listening to the 90s rap and hip hop fuck all this new age trap shit its garbage no talent whatsoever
You shouldn't compare "real" DJs to DJ:ing producers that are on the stage just for entertainment.
A producer sure couldn't make good live music but likewise a DJ would be absolutely clueless trying to compose anything with a digital audio workstation.
beautiful old school hiphop. back when DJ'ing actually takes proper skills and timing and beat management
Back when music was really good and scratching was a thing. Goddamn I miss those days!
I remember watching this video years ago and it just popped up again. Its crazy how that first few seconds stuck in my mind after all these years.
This is so fucking sick.
There's something about the classic analog that the digital remaster just doesn't capture. This will forever be the Funkiest of Turntablisms!
True it's so raw. Made me buy two 1210s in 2012 🙏🏻
2:20 Angelo went off 😂
Fr😂
how can a hip hop fan not like this??
Refreshing to see a DJ that still uses records instead of a Serato.
really nice classic style
