Ngl, i used masked dancer and persona master a lot, it is very versatile. You basically got access to a wide range of skills without actually spent time grinding for those Archetype just to get access to it, and Persona master basically help you set up for big nuke for magic build. Very cool but royal masked dancer still clears when you got hands on them
Brawler carried me until the baby boss in Martina, as it nukes everything with meteoric fist(Just use First Aid to fully heal him which costs 2 MP!! Thats on hard mode with every dungeon day one.
I would definitely give Summoner and Devil Summoner another chance. Persona Master is nothing without using it to make Eupah OP. Inflicting a one time light weakness and then using summon deity is one of the best skills in the game. Of course physical is better in this game because of crit and the double crit accessory. Just because physical is broken doesn’t mean magic is bad or not good. Also Summon Harvest God is the best healing skill in the game. Modified Summon Dragon lowers attack and defense by 1 stage and is a very good skill. Add hyper from Warlock and Royal Summoner is amazing. Please test it out at some point because it seems like you are glazing physical
Pretty sure Tycoon also has access to "Money Power", which is basically Hero's Proving (can target any allies), but uses gold instead (which you can cheat it out using fortune abascus that eliminates money cost) which makes Tycoon even more busted
I actually use the Samurai buff moves on Strohl. After watching so many vids I think I actually play games differently from most. I go off character personality and job personality when I play and try my best to make those happen with the tools I have.
Brawler lineage is mostly useful for grinding the weaker enemies in the dungeon before getting to the boss. The multi target, multi hit synthesis skills clean up rooms by themselves, and even if you do have to heal afterwards, it still results in major mp conservation. I wouldn't use brawlers in boss fights, but they certainly serve a purpose outside of them.
The real strength of the royal warrior is being able to use the sword that increases synthesis damage (no other classes have this), thus saving you the trinket slot to put on him the ridiculousness that is gamblers manual instead of overlords sash, doubling your crit damage. This build literally one shots all bosses in the game as long as you crit. You could argue this is not valid cause its not the archetype that is busted but the equip combo, but imo you should definetly consider equips, just like how tycoon isnt that op busted if you dont use their busted weapons.
For anyone who runs magic, i just want to point out that hitting a weakness is pretty much the same damage wise as critting. So if you run like elemental master with a element staff (i used fire) and take masked dancer as a debuff support you can do insane damage like the tycoon. Just use the passives that increase cost / damage of synthesis and make enemies fire weak with masked dancer and go to town. I was hitting 10-25k in base game at the end.
@Leon-dragneel are you saying this is with a crit? I'm not about to go through the trouble of testing it but whatever setup the physical builds use, has anyone tried to do a magic version to see how high the numbers go

I don't understand why people aren't talking about Warlord's synthesis skill Dynast Formation, it's a full party heat riser by 3 ranks, Front Boost is already very necessary to optimize damage. Warlord can pretty much be the ultimate support and also inherit trickster's debuffs.
@Danewd98sChannelgaming for me it's not that much better than formation of vigor to justify double the turn icons. Plus I don't typically want to be a warlord
@@purplatypus7405There’s an accessory that removes a turn icon cost of synthesis skills, I think that would easily solve the problem of using 2 turn icons. Imagine using 1 turn to give max heat riser to your whole team.
@goooodenzo maybe but I'd rather have reflecting, dodge, or damage accessories. Formation of vigor does mostly the same job and you can run it on any archetypes. Like dynasty formation is good but not busted at all imo
mainly inherit vidyartha and half synthesis mp cost + equip utilitarian manual and u get the best support in the game,. alongside junah to only charge the party, then let mc and either strohl or basilio to 1 shot those poor bastards
I really don’t see the issue with Brawler Types HP use opposed to MP. I don’t really look at it as “MP in Exchange for healing items” since I always have one party member with a heal to compensate for my brawler always having less health. But the huge upside is Hulkenberg (my brawler main) has NEVER rain out of MP the few times I’ve had to leave a dungeon it wasn’t because of her. It’s also one of the combats mechanics brought over from Persona so I kind of love it. I did the exact same strategy with Phys skills in Persona to make certain characters infinitely reliable as long as I can still heal.
Debt Collection is super useful though. I spam it during gauntlet runner battles or when Im about to leave a dungeon and I make 10k mag from a single fight. Or you can make a bunch of cursed loves and go into the desert area and farm it off a weak enemy and get like a million mag. Sure it doesnt have a combat use but its incredibly useful when you want a lot of mag.
With regards to the elemental Dragoonshots that hit multiple times, there is a Bow (Nasu's Longbow) that guarantees all multi-hits hit their maximum amount, so that might make a difference here.
Hello, sorry for the dumb question but i’ve recently started playing Metaphor (about 20 hrs in) and after watching this guide i realized strength might suit my play style better, however i already invested like 25 points in magic and only 11 in strength. I really like magic but i heard there is no respec system. Is it true that gear and archetypes matter more than your overall build?
Warlord’s an odd one. If you’re optimizing, then formation of vigor, plus front boost, plus their weapon that casts matarukaja at the start of the battle is kinda peerless. But it’s kind of a “win more” class, so I get people not rating it as high. Maybe once we get a dlc superboss that actually requires optimizing.
1:08:32 Getting repel from gear instead of passives is much worse, all the superbosses in this game will instakill you if you wear repel gear but passives like the Royal Knight won't trigger the instakill attack.
All of my Royal Archetypes are maxed, here's what I can say about them: - Royal Berserker lives up to its name. Full offense, weak defense. - Royal Masked Dancer is a pure debuffer for me. Add the late game masks depending on what you need. It's versatile. - Royal Summoner is a party deleter. She goes well together with Royal Masked Dancer's weakness debuff. Problem is it's too MP hungry, but that can be fixed with passives and equipment such as Shield Blessing and boots that buffs a stat at the start of battle and MP gain per turn. RS doesn't need any passives with how much damage it deals, but hey, more damage is always welcome. - Royal Thief is an evasion tank. Combo it with Knight's Proclamation (Not Holy Knight since it automatically guards. Guards don't dodge) and you have a great, unkillable tank. The level 20 skill is already available using an equipment from a magic shop in the early game. Equip Heismay with evasion equipments and you have an unkillable tank. - Royal Warrior is just Royal Berserker but with Slash damage and some multi-hit skills. If you're an SMT or a Persona fan, you know that Hassou Tobi is a broken skill. Don't be blinded by the "weak" in the description. That skill is broken as hell. Just put the Hassuo Tobi in the Broken OP tier. - Royal Knight... How should I say this. It does its job, but that's just it tbh. The damage is garb. I'm sorry, but if I have to rely on reflect just to deplete the enemy's turn icon, I'll just choose Royal Thief's dodge. - Prince. The best against human-type enemies and Hero's Cry is great. Armageddon's Final Sire is just an optional boss's Megidolaon but now you're using it. In Persona 3, it is the Armageddon fusion skill.
Sure but there are good reasons not to just leave everyone in the back row. *But* that's where the Commander line comes in. Being able to shift everyone to one row *and* giving them 2 stacks of a buff at the same time is incredibly valuable and sets up Mediline perfectly.
Surprised you haven't mentioned Paladin's Line Guard and Magic Guard Synthesis skills. Those have carried me through all the trial dragon fights, being able to put up phys or magic block on the whole party is insane. Edit: So, finished the video, agree with most of the placements. I did use Masked Dancer lineage a lot, and would probably place it higher cause of sheer versatility. Also the Summoner was great for clearing dungeons cause of all the multi-target skills, but then I'd switch her out for someone else before the bossfight. I didn't use tycoon all that much, so I don't really have a strong opinion on it - I keep hearing how busted it is though, so that's probably right. And oh boy, the Royal Destroyer. You were 100% right in ranking him high, but I'd probably put him even higher, into the Broken OP tier. I ended up giving Basilio the accessory to take two turns in the row, and in the endgame my whole party setup revolved around buffing Basilio and debuffing the boss by the time the turn gets to him - and then he'd unleash with 2 Wanton Destructions in the row. Combine that with Royal Cry, and nothing survived past that turn, especially with the Protag also hitting with buffed-up Royal Slash.
Put charge on berserker. Thats the solution to all fights. Beat the game in my early 60s, which seems a good bit lower than the norm. Let Heismay dodge. Have Hulkenberg reflect. Protag makes more press turns and give Basilio the item to move twice. Game over baby
Is there any consideration for the Utilitarian Manual for some of these classes? I know there's other very good accessories but 1 turn icon masquerade charge defined my endgame team, and a few other supportive classes like Warlord I can't imagine would want any other specific accessory which makes their utility much more accessible.
Except prince is a unique lineage, so monolineage boosters (which are the most substantial in this game) get completely butchered by the sole fact of the prince being there, so I guess if you want to funnel all your damage into MC at the cost of everyone else, it should work, but still far from ideal compared to a monolineage team, especially compared to a quad tycoon or samurai/royal warrior comp
@@tuvieeclips if your a physical team or your main damage dealers are physically then the monolineage team isn’t that important. Because physical does so damage that just buffs/debuffs, and correct passive will be more than enough to nuke everything. However if your running a magic team then the monolineage comp is almost a must need to help somewhat lessen the gap between physical and magic damage. Magic doesn’t get near as many damage passives compared to physicals, which is sad but expected of Atlus
Hi is it possibile to max them all out in the first run? That’s mean you constantly need to change archetypes in your team party or only on MC? And also should you level archetypes only on main character or on party members because I see if you change their Archetype the start from 0
@andry6164 you can easily max out all archetypes in the first run however it will be time consuming post the first 1 to 3 characters but totally doable if you desire it. You will unlock lots of ultimate weapons as characters get maxed out which is a good motivator
Royal berserker is the most broken archetype in the game with phantasma doll. Literal Back to Back wanton destructions doing like 30k+ per turn is insanity considering you literally gain press turns from it after turn 1 where you have to do your first attack to implant the weakness. There only being 1 hard fight who repels phys really lets it dogwalk the entirety of the endgame, especially since you can get max buffs/debuffs and 3 wanton destructions in 1 turn with the crown item and heros icon.
Honestly pretty good list will say I disagree on some takes you had especially with the warrior line as not as many enemies have a resistance to slash as you make it out to be and I’ve personally used that class for most all boss encounters to otk it with the hyper carry set ups and it’s been pretty fun doing it on regicide.
@dandrecarter4498 magic is suoer viable and can beat the game as the game is pretty easy but magic on average is weaker the further into the game you get with it being kind of OP early game before it falls off
Any difference in opinion I have regarding class placements are down to differences in playstyle I think. I like spamming synthesis skills and being flexible. Also outside of the end of the game, I avoided grinding for MAG and most of my Aexp items I got from mastered archetypes were used on unlocking the royal archetypes for every character.
Multihit attacks are based off of AGI, not LUCK. The wisdom tooth in the optional dungeons tells you this I believe in the dungeon to unlock the Bond for Faker.
summoner really is pretty bad when it comes bosses and late game but its practically a jack of all trades with high power that you dont have to really think about the skills they dont have and switch them up to face another set of mobs. Not to mention it easily has access to a lot of AoE and almighty in its kit without doing synthesis or raising another archetype, similar to masked dancer tree. Still its good mid game but gets outclassed later on once you raised a lot of archetypes and inherit their skills
I just have a few trophies left for platinum so gonna start up a new game + but... how do you get the reverent crown- I dont remember finding that on my first playthrough.
@@BarnzTTI think you just have to unlock them but it pretty much means mastery outside of the super late ones, as you have to master to get the next tier
If you value high difficulty, then the comfort of backline taunts should be given more value. We can easily provide points for what we prefer but having a consistent value system makes tier list and opinions more respectable
@@purplatypus7405 exactly, which is why comments about taunt being cringe seems disingenuous. Cause that’s where you get the most mileage, in regicide where things hit hard. “Cringe” is not a real reason something is not good, just shows how you can’t separate opinions and objectivity
The stuff you say sucks does not suck to me. Sucks is like useless, and that's never the case. Not that good I'd say, but you're WAY too harsh on some of these classes and skills. Some of the same things you said "SUCK" has done me lots of justice. So sometimes I think "Sucks" is more situational if anything.
@@saviormonroe-lh7oh I want to agree with you but the only statistically goated magic comes from summoner, not devil summoner, but summoner, and it can still be beaten by tycoon and samurai
@saviormonroe-lh7oh you can go in if you want but magic can't crit so it's damage is much worse the further into the game you get. Magic is very viable and you can easily beat the game as its an easy game its just weaker
@@tuvieeclips y'all act like every enemy can be beaten with some type of physical damage. And in order to guarantee crits you have to do a lot. One spell can get close without so much customization. And some enemies are much easier to kill with magic.
@@purplatypus7405 to say Magic sucks is just wrong.. so many fights where physical does NOTHING! Magic is more than viable. And once a magic weakness is exploited you can kill that enemy with one hit. Crit isn't needed. But you NEED crit to kill most enemies that are weak to a physical attack for almost 90% of the game. So yeah, have fun trying to get crits all the time. I'll just hit something with severe magic that's weak to that element and make it MUCH easier on myself. I can agree that magic is situational, but "sucks" is extreme.
tycoon is so broken. i beat red dragon in regicide with 4 tycoon and it so easy. but even it broken and can beat hardest boss but still have 2 enemies that tycoon can't beat ( platinum and golden big tooth) 😅
IMO: The Archetype system is bad, it seems meaningless compared to other Job system. If some innate skills of Archetype can adjust/replace/change (whatever), maybe it will be more fun.

Faker has 2 of the best defensive skills to inherit Dekaja and Makarakarn, ennemy loosing 2 action points if hitting your magic barrier makes it Op
Já suspeitava da classe mercante, resetei há uma semana atrás pra buildar melhor. The best class.💪
Calling Vitalja bad is crazy
Summoner is godly wtf
Warrior class drops off hard. Warrior class needs a lot of help to shine and perform.
I love the tycoon......
I used full magic team the whole game 😂
@dandrecarter4498 magic is suoer viable and can beat the game as the game is pretty easy but magic on average is weaker the further into the game you get with it being kind of OP early game before it falls off
Any difference in opinion I have regarding class placements are down to differences in playstyle I think. I like spamming synthesis skills and being flexible. Also outside of the end of the game, I avoided grinding for MAG and most of my Aexp items I got from mastered archetypes were used on unlocking the royal archetypes for every character.
royal knight is broken, half mp cost passive skill+ utilitarian manual , use ultimate guard nullifies one non-Almighty attack for all allies. lol
Multihit attacks are based off of AGI, not LUCK. The wisdom tooth in the optional dungeons tells you this I believe in the dungeon to unlock the Bond for Faker.
@@rundasfromhalo8586 i believe he says it's luck not agility
summoner really is pretty bad when it comes bosses and late game but its practically a jack of all trades with high power that you dont have to really think about the skills they dont have and switch them up to face another set of mobs. Not to mention it easily has access to a lot of AoE and almighty in its kit without doing synthesis or raising another archetype, similar to masked dancer tree. Still its good mid game but gets outclassed later on once you raised a lot of archetypes and inherit their skills
Bruh royal warriors synthesis is hella broken. It will freaking one shot every freaking enemy if used correctly. And yes that includes final boss
can you please make a timeline for all the Archetype, its amazing deep video.
@@waleedaljaber7989 there is a pinned comment with timestamps
I just have a few trophies left for platinum so gonna start up a new game + but... how do you get the reverent crown- I dont remember finding that on my first playthrough.
Pretty sure it was a reward for unlocking a portion of the archetypes on the protag. It’s not the 100% one but whatever was before it.
80% archetype mastery for the MC
You have to just unlock it or you have to master that archtype?
@@BarnzTTI think you just have to unlock them but it pretty much means mastery outside of the super late ones, as you have to master to get the next tier
@@ToesTeaTy Thank you.
If you value high difficulty, then the comfort of backline taunts should be given more value. We can easily provide points for what we prefer but having a consistent value system makes tier list and opinions more respectable
@michaelyang838 this tier list is from the perspective of hard mode and regicide only. Lower difficulties are not considered as I've not played them.
Also, to keep saying "magic sucks". Lol. I'm just going to say I disagree. You obviously didn't go IN on your magic builds.
THANK YOU…..YES SUMMONER SUCKS SO BAD….so many channels rated it super high, it just flat-out sucks
tycoon is so broken. i beat red dragon in regicide with 4 tycoon and it so easy.
but even it broken and can beat hardest boss but still have 2 enemies that tycoon can't beat ( platinum and golden big tooth) 😅
IMO:
The Archetype system is bad, it seems meaningless compared to other Job system.
If some innate skills of Archetype can adjust/replace/change (whatever), maybe it will be more fun.
