    Hello.
    I have been experiencing an sensorimotor OCD crisis (blinking and eye movements) for two months.
    I went through an OCD crisis (also Sensorimotor) 19 years ago, but after a few months I recovered by myself. Now I'm stuck again. What technique would you suggest, since you have had this type of OCD before?

      Pedro Aleixo I take it you are scared of being stuck like this forever?

      Absolutely ! This is my biggest fear and what makes my anxiety grow. Not being able to live my life normally again.

      Pedro Aleixo a large part of sensorimotor recovery is about getting comfortable with it, the only reason it locks comes down to the irrational belief that life is awful if it locks where in reality you can still live well enough and get things done and don’t notice it much of the time, the less scared you become you quickly drain it of power.

      I see.
      Besides trying to decrease the time I am scare of it, Do you recommend some kind of daily exposure to the compulsion (blinking and eye movement) to make me get used to it ?

    How do recommend dealing with existential OCD when in social settings? For example, I will be enjoying my self with family or friends, relaxing, drinking, eating, or in conversation and my OCD will pop up out of nowhere and say, "What if you're the only truly conscious person here and all the other "people" are simply projections of your subconscious mind?" My anxiety will then spike, I will feel nervous, and I will kick myself for not being able to simply enjoy the company of others. Solipsism OCD is highly inconvenient for social creatures like us human beings. Thanks.

      Tim Westchester why would it be so scary if solipsism was reality?

    • @timwestchester9557

      @@OCDRecovery I guess because it would mean the relationships I have with people I care about aren't "real" the way I think they are i.e we are both conscious beings sharing a similar experience we call life on this planet we call Earth? I'm not sure.

      Tim Westchester when you watch a movie are the characters real?

    • @timwestchester9557
      @timwestchester9557 4 роки тому

      @@OCDRecovery No. The actors could be portraying actual, historic people, but no, they are not "real". If you're suggesting to just treat like life like one giant movie, doesn't make you curious as to why it's happening in the first place?

      Tim Westchester no what I’m saying is when we watch a movie the characters are actors but we get lost in the film and forget that and experience it as if it’s really happening. The same if the world was in a solipsism world we would forget that it was that most of the time and enjoy our life as if it wasn’t. Everything you enjoy in life you could still do but what OCD has latched to is the “connection” part. It wouldn’t be awful not having that connection you don’t “need” it you would get used to it, it wouldn’t be ideal but not terrible. Once you see this and make peace with this and accept this it lifts. OCD is only latching because it knows you are very scared of this once you aren’t you won’t care about it or believe it. Whilst in it you feel as if you are experiencing the world locked in this world constantly in everything you see, I know I have been there.

    I’m 17 years old and I’m going through hell rn. I have had no problems before this but a month ago I ate an edible and it fuked me over so bad. Ever since then I’ve had horrible anxiety ever since and I think about what I’m thinking/feeling every second. My brain doesn’t let me not think of anything else. That’s the worst part. I can’t stop thinking about it. Do you think this is PTSD? OCD? Just anxiety? I feel like I’m never going to be the same again

      Reno DiBono I imagine it’s your fear of being stuck forever that is fuelling this
