I'm 39, my Papa is 69, & our cousin is 61. We got Sweet Soul Music by Arthur Conley as our one and only Go To for Karaoke. I'm hoping this be our Second "Go To" song we get down to. I really feel the music in this one. Thanks CCR!!!
Thanks For Sharing....and The Comment Sir !
You wanna see something really scary?
12/7/24 or 12/8/24. After midnight.
This is the Saturday night special too.
And the 38 special
3 becomes 12 and 8
12/8 special
The scary part is like Ronnie says
Dump all people to the bottom of the sea.
Escape and fly my friend
Funny, that's what comes to my mind every time I hear that tune... good ol' Dan Akroyd
Just got hit with my favorite ear worm, thanks for the video! :)
Let the midnight special, shine a light on Dot
A man in Houston got put
in prison, Miss Rosie wants to free her man, before he gets executed at Midnight, that's my meaning of this masterpiece
Fuckin A
No better music in the world
The best rock country
Sugar land prison.Texas
Yonder come Miss Rosie…
It's a house with slaves. One of them is the narrator telling us what's happening. Can't complain about no food and Rosie wants her man freed.
Thanks For The Comment Sir !
@@LyricsMeaningXYZ My pleasure. Best Wishes from England.
Actually, it's about a train that goes past a prison.
@@timscott6570 If you read my next comment, you'll see that.
I think, this is a prison song. It have some sense since the song tell you a couple of situations... When you woke up and march to the table... Miss Rosie coming to free her man..
Read more about it . It's a train that went past a prison. Driver would shine his lights extra bright and sound the horn as he went past.
Thanks For The Comment!
when i was a kid, i thought this was a truck drivin' song, and the Midnight Special was an extra-large black coffee you could get at truck stops. because it's black as midnight, and you needed it AFTER midnight....you know, to help you stay awake on the road ;)
driving from IL to FL around 1989 (i was 9), we stopped for gas around 1 am, and i asked my dad if he was gonna get the "Midnight Special". he had no idea what i was talking about :P
messed that one up, i guess ;D
This song won't leave my head, guess I gotta listen on repeat till it goes away.
Thanks For The Comment !
Who came here because of 'In the tall grass'
Thanks For The Comment Sir!
Never grow tired of this song.....
I found this: The “Midnight Special” was a passenger train whose front headlight would shine onto the prison at Sugar Land, Texas as it passed. The train was a symbol of good luck and hope for the prisoners. ---The light of the Midnight Special supposedly meant that whoever the light shone upon, their girlfriend/ wife was on the train coming to collect them/ bail them out.
It is so crazy still to this day wifey will take black people's music and make it their own LED Billy did it first Credence made it famous
You wanna see something REALLY scary?

The Midnight Special is your Last Meal!
... Miss Rosie... She come to see the gov'ner... Not gov'ner but Govnuke ! Must be closer. All languages talking same: Governor is govnuke ( bull sheet by English ) I'm listened I'm agree.
So what the hell is the midnight special?
This song keeps me at peace of mind
No apparent author, but this song is one of hope for prisoners---the Midnight Special being a train that passed by with it's headlight on bright for the prisoners--that they may have some hope of freedom. Trouble is, they're there for a reason. So the song is pretty cool, but the prisoners can still shove it, for the most part.
