I wait until there is a storm and head out into that....sometimes you are beyond the kill zone after the storm abates and can continue to drive all around the big nothing. I have driven to the plains of silence and its just salt flats that seems to go on forever.....but I will say this.....The Big Nothing is formatted and could easily have been inculcated into the game...Its replete with mountains and gullys, old roads and car graveyards......After seeing this area (And its HUGE) i have found a scrap icon on the right hand side of the map up naer the top end, yet there is no scrap.....I believe they did have plans to make Mad max as big as the big nothing but finances curtailed that (Drastically).....its magic driving out there, and be careful of the edge cos once you fall down onto the salt flats there is no way back....
There is a road at the left of gastown that doesnt show on the map it is in the killzone of the big nothing If you follow it you'll eventually find a bridge and the entrance to a tunnel
@ElectroCarsSuck it is on "the heights" region next to the northern most enemy base, theres a street that suddenly stops on the map but if u follow it, it eventually reapears and goes on until the big nothing

+Homer Simpson I am not sure, it is located in the big nothing -north east- .. There is a lot of glitches in the big nothing (including dev-testing sites) , but this one is kinda the largest area I've found.
+Homer Simpson the final convoy took place in the dead barrens. I do believe this was just a testing area or pre-cut alpha content. devs like to be lazy and leave things in out of bounds areas instead of removing them from the game.

It is not a mod, he simply went out into the big nothing during a storm, but be fast, storms dont last long
