David Austen retired that rose. I am desperate for cuttings. NOT to sale, for my own garden.

A great resource is the HelpMeFind website...here's the link to nurseries that sell Graham Thomas www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=2.1839.1&tab=16&lvl=1&qn=1&qc=31 You can search to see which may have it in stock....many have already sold out for the season. Suburban Lawn and Garden have it on their 2024 list of varieties that should soon be available. Good luck - it's a great rose.

Do the Austin roses do well in Kansas City?

Yes, David Austin roses do well in Kansas City and are very popular. You can see a collection in the garden bed at the west end of the Laura Conyers Smith Rose Garden in Loose Park. If this is not trained as a climber, how wide does it tend to get?

Graham Thomas will probably be at least 3 ft. wide, and as tall as you let it grow. It will want to be a climber, so you will have to prune long canes throughout the summer to keep it from sprawling. Other Austin roses that are the same yellow, and are genetically programed to be shrubs instead of climbers might be lower maintenance. Suggestions include Golden Celebration, Charlotte, Molineaux, The Poet's Wife.
