      @@savierhernandez7391 I got the 60 Liter version and it works fine for me. I spend a lot of time outside and I can fit everything I need in there. It's very durable, I once hiked 7 miles in a straight line through rough terrain and the pack got no damage. The raincover takes up much space in the top, but that's OK for me. The sleeping bag compartment can easily fit a 3 season sleeping bag in there. The hib belt pockets easily fit a smartphone, food or gloves. It's really a great pack, but I got mine on sale for around 170 dollars. I never regret it and for me, it's one of the best packs on the market, because of the Anti-Gravity system
      It makes 20 kilos feel like 15 kilos and in summer, it won't prevent sweat but I sweat a lot less wearing this pack all day long

    Thank you for a real world look at the backpack. I appreciate they attention to detail. This pack is a million times better than the rucks, framed and not framed, including my big Tactical Tailor pack. The materials are not as durable, but hopefully I'm not low crawling across a mountain face with my Osprey. :) I just picked up this pack, still brand new, on Offer Up. (got a great deal at that!) Prepping for a 12 day trek at Philmont Scouting High Adventure! One thing I noted about my Aether 70 AG was that the rainfly wasn't included with the pack. I love the features. not sure I'll use the day pack that comes with it, but it's still a nice feature. Thanks again!

Looking forward to getting to use it this year and have planned on doing the Cateran Trail beginning of May - The Great Glen Way & Speyside Way in June - The East Highland Way in August before going to Morocco. Glad I seen your as I did not know you can clip another rucksack into the Aether AG. Will look into this. Thanks for the fantastic review. I bought this pack from REI Outlet and I was surprised at just how little information there is in its use. Things like adding a secondary pack using the hidden loops or what the extra buckle clips on the side were for (cinching the compression straps when the pack is less full) were left out of any instructional information from Osprey. You laid it out in very straight forward fashion that left me with many "a-ha" moments. Osprey doesn't even address the pockets and storage in the Daylid. So thanks again for this in-depth breakdown of the Aether. I am now feeling more confident about my purchase and looking forward to using it soon.

    Excellent "real world" review. The owner of our local shop did a great job fitting this pack for me. My model is older, equipped with the "day pack" lid instead of the pack cover and underneath mesh pocket. Your set up is more practical; however, the pack is just plain excellent and easy to carry. Night and day from the huge mountaineering pack I suffered with for years. Your pack organization is excellent.

Mine didn’t come with a rain cover. Perhaps that’s a difference in the US version. 45 lbs is still 45 lbs, but noticeably different feeling after a full day with this system. Good review. I’ve been looking at this pack for my new hunting kit. The only thing I’ve found that is a little disappointing is the the day lid bag is only available on the USA model at the moment. However osprey have said they are going to be selling it in Europe as of from feb 2920 as an accessory. I think the days of dedicated hunting back is over. That said a bow or rifle boot ad on would complete this pack for me.

I honestly had no idea there was a section for a water bag inside. I thought it was just a separate storage area. NOTE THIS: i have bought it, with just 5 liters of load capacity under my previous backpack (Karimor, a beast but with an outdated suspension system).
    HOWEVER: when packing, I noticed that to the most extent it does not carry 70 liters unless you really hardcore stuff it to the max. Which makes operating with the pack a serious challenge on a daily basis.
    RESUME: if you are really to pack 70 liters and often need to pack/unpack, maybe go for the 85 liter! I love the suspension system, but as a "packer" I personally think the Fjallraven Kajka is a beter option, however their suspension is very medium.

    Hey Paul ! I'm about to get this one in the 85L version but I found there was another 85L+ pack : the Xenith. Do you have any experience with this one ? My main concern is about comfort as I have slight back problems. Thank you and have a nice day !

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  3 роки тому +1

      I'm afraid we don't stock the Xenith, so I can't check first hand, but having had a look on their website it seems the main difference is the Xenith uses a slightly more rudimental backsystem, whereas the Aether uses a suspended mesh backsystem with more adjustability. If you can, I'd try both and pick which one is more comfortable. Kind regards, Harry.

      I currently have the Rook 65. It is too basic with only two external side pockets for water bottles and the like. The Aether is a by far better pack and choice. The USA version has a built-in day pack at the top where he showed the raincover. Consider the Aether or Atmos.

    I am trying to decide between an Atmos AG 65 and Aether 70 for 1-2 day winter mountain camping with a typical load of around 12-15kg. Which pack would you recommend? I need to be able to attach walking poles, ice axe and camera tripod.

      The Aether has a few more features including J-Zip front access, compatibility with Osprey's Daylite series and StraightJacket compression, however they both feature a very similar backsystem, will both carry the weight specified and will be able to carry poles, axes and a tripod. If you can, try both on to feel which one is more comfortable, however you won't be disappointed with either. Kind regards, Harry.

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Markus, the mesh is surprisingly tough and is used in ares less prone to wear. But, as always, it depends on how hard and how often you use the pack. A good dose of common sense should be applied to the expected lifetime of such materials. Paul.
