I love using jab jab into portal into down air then side air. Using the portal gun in combos is always so satisfying and it does even more damage with the flame portal perk.

Ah. The Anti-Infinite combo system was introduced because of those types of combos. Shaggy can do those very easily as well. Arya can to some extent. Although there are the instances of down air spamming teams like Velma and Jake that would probably trigger that system much quicker allowing for sooner breakouts of those spammy true combos.

"Arya can To Some Extent" She can 0 to death with up specials and down airs in rotation while mixing other moves in as well causing a true string. Which is what the Anti-Infinite combo system is in place to prevent. A True Combo where 1 move is used within that rotation 4 or more times causing every follow-up move to be in attack decay even if it hasn't been used once. "To Some Extent" also eludes to the fact that she can't do this as easily nor can do it as long as other characters might be able to. I know recently they nerfed her capability to do it even more, but they are looking to allow Arya players to follow-up her up special a bit easier without making it guaranteed. So this statement still stands correct.
The combos in this game are kind of finicky, it took me a bunch of attempts for it to connect. It relies on the AI pulling away in the right direction and ground bouncing.
@@Ian-hz8fl I only tested it a 0. I'll have to try it out in some real matches and report back. I have the AI set to "dodge during hitstun" which makes them change their KBI each time, so sometimes they would go too high for me too.

no the anti infanite combo system is in place because of harleys and bugz and jake has basically 0 true combos

Probably won't be revisiting combos. I made a Shaggy combo video and they changed the trajectory of his stomp too.
At 20-30 seconds im trying the combo i cant connect the portal with it why
Hitting the jab further away helps, the trajectory of the opponent is different each time so it doesn't always work.
Everytime I use the whip he hits twice
You can input a different attack or dodge before the 2nd hit to cancel it.

I’m level 14 and I get seem to get that portal combo to work the portal always ends up farther than where the guy lands
If the portal is going too far you might be hitting the jab too close, but it also depends on the opponents knockback influence.
