Yeah I agree. On a smaller scale it is similar to Sinner's journey. But then suddenly something clicks and everybody thinks you are winning out of nowhere.

Only Alcaraz has the potential to beat Sinner on tour right now. And that too only if he summons his early 2023 form. On paper, Sinner playing anywhere close to his best is reminiscent of Djokovic a la 2011...pretty much invincible.
While I think Carlos is the better player I jist think that in the end their H2H will be in Sinner's favour. Hes the only player who has beaten him in all three surfaces and he seems to be on another level right now. In their last match Sinner won pretty definitively. And while it's great to see Alcaraz getting back to his level, Sinner has been his biggest competitor and he's yet to face this version of him. Let's see how it goes.
Sinner is like the juggernaut right now, just obliterating his foes and evidently unstoppable. Jannik has that air of invincibility around him currently, which shrouded Novak in his prime. And their games are eerily similar - almost impenetrable from the baseline, can attack from both flanks with ease. I would argue that Sinner is more dangerous from the baseline because of his ability to go turbo mode (flat and super hard) consistently. But he has some way to go before he matches peak Djokovic physicality, clarity, and mental fortitude (probably unreachable). The next few years in all probability is going to be the age of the Sinner.
Sinner just did enough even not playing his best. Alcaraz's forehands today were like bazooka...was checking H2H between Zverev and De Minaur. De Minaur has only beaten Zverev twice, both wins came in ATP/United cup in Australia.
Murray made an excellent comment that when he started on the tour average 1st serve speed at the aussie open was around 176kph..this year it was 199! A 1 handed bhand will struggle to handle that speed offensively as a return of serve....so if the slice is played from the outset you are on the back foot straight away. Really only Fed had a good enough slice return to keep the server in a trading position from the return, and even he later on went on the offensive and adopted to drive the return (aussie open 2017). For me the writing was on the wall for Tsitipas when he lost to Kyrios at Wimbie. Virtually any heavy serve to his bhand and he lost the rally. Fed's grip is not as far round as Tsitipas and his swing is more compact..can the Greek adapt...hmm???
As a tennis player myself, I'm just wondering how the hell do you defeat Sinner, even if he is having a half decent day. The guy has absolutely no weaknesses from the baseline, and due to his reach and lanky nature, he can cover almost anything, rarely misses, and simply obliterates the ball from both flanks. I do however believe, that Carlos Alcaraz, with his immense variety can create some serious trouble for Jannik.
You have to break his rhythm. If you let him play his natural game he'll dictate the play. Medvedev did that for the first 2 sets but couldn't keep up for the entire match. Medvedev really surprised Sinner with his attacking game in the final and kept him off balance.
Agree on the first part, as the original comment implied using variety against Sinner is mandatory. Medvedev galloped away with the first two sets as Sinner was feeling the nerves. Once Sinner was settled, even the most cerebral player on tour, Medvedev, couldn't employ the disruption tactics... Sinner simply didn't let him. It's easier said than done. Most players would know the fact you've stated, but don't have the necessary skill set to employ it, at least consistently enough to beat Sinner. Alcaraz has that skill set and also the raw power to get Sinner flat-footed or out of position, and then implement the variety.
Marozsan from this match and that match are two different players. He seemed much more eager to defend than try anything this time, while he was all over the court last time.
At the moment Sinner is reading the game differently than other players. He is a step up right now. Let's see of he can maintain it to reach world number 1. I thi k he can. His game is good, aggressive and consistent.
Unfortunately for Sinner he isn’t a very great clay court player. So world number one is very unlikely because there are at least five or ten better clay court players on the tour than Sinner. It’s almost clay court season and that will change everything, Sinner won’t be the dominant player as soon as it changes to clay. Sinner has only won major titles on hard courts.
Not sure about Shelton playing well. After being competitive in the first set, his game came apart in all departments - serves, returns, UF galore both sides. Sinner didnt have to try too hard in the 2nd set.

Continua a vincere Jannik, sta giocando un tennis di alto livello lasciando solo le briciole agli avversari 3 partite 3 vittorie 3 e 6 set vinti senza perdere uno, continua cosi campione❤❤
Bravo Jannik!!!!!!!!!🎉❤🇮🇹
What’s with the fist after each point???? Never saw Sampras, Courier, Federer or Rafa do that.
How has Tsitsipas ever broken the top 10 with that backhand? Shocking
Because competition isn't much better
I feel like alcaraz or Medvedev or the only players who can stop sinner now.....
Sinner has beaten them both repeatedly & recently. He's in peak form & it's his tournament to lose.
Neither can stop him. Sinner owns Alcaraz, and Medvedev can't seem to figure him out at the moment.
Well Alcaraz ain't getting past Zverev
@@CL2- Sinner "owns" Alcaraz with a 4-3 record and 2-2 in their past 4?
He's playing great for sure but he's beatable
Fantastici questi highlights della partita di Sinner, sembra abbia vinto Shelton 😁😁
Not screaming tonight are we Benny!!!! Demolished
Ben reminds me of Danielle Collins in the excitable Scream department.
@@Birdylockso Shelton infinitely more annoying
Jawohl Lehecka 😊👍
Didn't get it. Why German?
Vai Lehecka. Perché italiano? Perché sono italiano. Così come il commentatore sopra è austriaco quindi parla tedesco.
De Minaur vs Zverev, the one-time Generation Next battling it out. The old young guard.
European domination in tennis seems to last forever
Zverez has become a much more mature and resilient player than before. Hopefully his efforts can be converted into a grand slam this year.
Lehecka is.flying right now. He's just destroying top 10 players left and right.
Hope huge Battle with Sinner 🔥🔥
Troppo forte sinner!🎉🎉❤
Sinner has humbled the American.
mannn, After watching the rally at 1:31 live I was convinced for a few that Shelton was going to pull it off
I see Lehecka in top 10 after this season 💪🏻
Can Tsitsipas not hit flat on his backhand? It’s like a kindergarten backhand now
That serve on 1:31 is insane
Lehecka is very much like Sinner in terms of technique and mentality. The only difference is that Sinner is better in every category by about 10%. That adds up to be a huge difference imo. Anything can happen though!
Lehecka has given the best performance this tournament so far. He could definitely snap Sinner’s winning streak if he plays with the confidence he has been playing with so far. Sinner hasn’t played at the level Lehecka has yet at Indian Wells. Lehecka looked a bit like a new Nole against Rublev!!!
@@mchazeloverAnd so what's your prediction? 🤔
Such great tennis in the big U.S. of A.
InSinnerator on Fire
In the coming years, Sinner will take the place of Djokovic... winning every slam barring RG.
Alcaraz will replace Nadal, dominating the clay season. The scraps will be left for the likes of Medvedev, Rune, and Zverev.
US open has never been dominated by anyone after Federer's 5 straight titles! Djokovic favourite for ao and wimbly , Rafa for French !
Doubt it . Fraudovic didn't win every slam barring rg . So this italian pasta boy certainly won't
zverev holding back his anger zverev with the good anger management👍👍
True 👍
Let it out, fuck the wokers.
Only bring anger towards woman.
The arrogant was humbled in this gAme,go Sinner get another trophy!
the winning machine continues
Lehecka will win this one....His form is unmatchable..
😂😂😂
Sinner el mejor 💪
You can see watching Carlos play he has a lot of Rafa in him, he was obviously his idol growing up
seems like sinner is going for a repeat of novak's 2011 streak
Jiri Lehecka looks like T-1000..... ( Robert Patrick )
Lehechka will soon be in the top 10
It's crazy that Sinner has only dropped 4 sets in 2024
Sasha needs to stop his defensive play. I can’t win slams like this with young players.
Feel so sad for stefanos, Dominic and Sasha, little bit for Mateo. They could not get their spot in the tennis history.
