I had a coach like that when I was in college. No mather how perfect I was on the court , he was giving minutes to his favorites who were underperforming . I had a decision to take , so I left the team.

The problem with D’Angelo is he’s a horrific defender, so if his shot isn’t falling then he’s a net negative. Doesn’t help that he’s historically performed bad In the post season throughout his career. teams put athletic wings on him and shut him down.
The Lakers will see him flame out in the playoffs, still pay him too much money and he will start shooting bricks all over again.
I feel the easy solution is put a defensive guy next to dlo and Austin off the bench next to a defensive guy and for everything whole give Max Christie some mins especially over cam non shooting Reddish

Guys, Steph Curry has bad shooting games. Dlo did not shoot but assisted instead. He can do other things, it is just not as pretty to watch as him draining 7 3’s. Not saying he is Steph….But he’s not a bag of potatoes either.

I remember playing for a coach, he used to start players worse than me, he gave me minutes during the 4th quarter when we were down 14 and I just played lockdown D and we came back and forced overtime off of that time. I was sick so I asked to be subbed out real quick to catch my breathe but still gave it my all for the 7-8 minutes i got that single 4th quarter. (Which was all I got lol). Then he played his favourites and never let me back in even though we played great with my defense. So we got eliminated in overtime. Sadge

All I keep hearing is DLo doesn’t perform in the playoffs but I watched him win us two games in Memphis and 2 with golden state ! Then I watch the lakers revert back to the Lebron system vs Denver removing the ball from DLo and austin and more to Lebron in a spread ! To be honest , the person who I saw disappear in the playoffs was Lebron ! The stats may say different in context but the eye test shows the real to those who are open to holding every player accountable

Can't help think that a smarter coach + front office would have solved this by now.
The front office got this roster with only crumbs to trade with. Pair that with a Lebron who's no longer playing defense, not to mention missing strategic games to prolong his playing ability, and a coach who is so dumb sometimes it baffles me who's not even a laker fan. With those key problems they are still playing well in what everyone keeps saying is a stacked conference. Front office has done really well with what they have.

He's been riding LeBron and AD coattail the last 2 seasons, and previously rode KAT and Ant's in Minnesota. Minnesota got rid of him for Mike Conley and NAW and got much better. I don't expect Austin Reaves and his $12mil/year contract to lead any team to the playoffs.

Poor rotations, refusal to call time outs to stop runs, starting lineups that make no sense and over using drop coverage and a preference to go small all the time are reasons I dislike the coaching. If you actually follow the Lakers you will see many players are also unhappy with the coaching, Has nothing to do with the man. If you think he's a great coach then that's great I was definitely excited when he first got here. But not anymore.

I still stand by my take of the Timberwolves trade being one of the worst. They could’ve drafted Kessler and kept all the picks to build a little better around Ant. I thought in the draft Kessler would be exactly what Rudy Gobert was, but a lot younger… and I was right. And I think if they could’ve gotten Pat Bev back, Ant would be a lot better on defense (not saying he’s bad right now, but he would force the team to take no plays off). And the team would still be one of the best defensive teams while being a bit young, opening their Championship window a bit more.

Rui sucked early or was constantly injured, Reaves was worn out from fiba and played poorly and thats why he was benched. Plus Vando has been injured all year. Thats the reason Cam and Prince were out there.
