    Roman Bunka was a remarkable oud player, guitarist, and composer whose musical journey spanned several decades and genres. In the 1970s, he collaborated with renowned artists and bands such as Embryo, Mal Waldron, Charlie Mariano, Missus Beastly, Aera, and Trilok Gurtu, showcasing his diverse talents and innovative approach to music.
    In the 1980s, he founded the band “Dein Kopf ist ein schlafendes Auto” and worked with notable figures like Mohamed Mounir, Abdu Dagir, Dissidenten, and Fathy Salama, further expanding his artistic horizons. The 1990s marked a significant shift as Bunka began composing film scores for directors such as Heiner Stadler, Fritz Baumann, and Doris Dörrie, blending his unique sound with cinematic storytelling.
    In 2008, he performed with Hubl Greiner, Stepanida Borisova, and Mohamed Badawi at the Al Bustan Festival in Beirut, one of the most significant classical music festivals in the Arab world. In 2010, he collaborated with the band Ich+Ich on the song "Yasmine," featuring Mohamed Mounir, and participated in their tour that same year, as well as the Bundesvision Song Contest. Bunka’s exceptional musicianship and creative vision have left an indelible mark on the music scene.
