It has come to my attention that the US Embassy webpage for downloading the sample affidavit template is no longer working. If anyone needs a copy of the template, please email me at phillipsinthephilippines@gmail.com.
Hi I have a question. The template page is working again and I went ahead and printed it. The template they have has the blank areas already filled out with what they expect you to write in them such as “name” and “DOB” and “CITY/STATE/COUNTRY” etc. I just downloaded the template and used the “mark up” app on my iPad to carefully white out/erase those prefilled answers and then printed it out. Do you think there would be any problem using their printed template this way to get my affidavit at the embassy? Or do they expect you to type up your own or to write out your own? I don’t know how particular they are with this type of thing. I’d call the embassy and ask but I don’t know how to since I’m still in the states. Thanks in advance!
Hello! Good to know that the template is working again. I just checked and the template is a fillable PDF, meaning you should be able to click on each field and enter your own information within the PDF viewer before printing it out. I just checked to see and it works with Adobe Acrobat. If this isn't working for you, you might try to use a different PDF viewer. Alternatively, I can send you a copy with the text removed if you shoot me an email. In general, I wouldn't be too worried about this as they aren't very strict about it. I had an outdated version of template when I went there and they just provided me a new one at the Embassy.

Glad you found it helpful! The class is mostly about what to expect from married life. It focuses on how to effectively communicate with one another to overcome obstacles. It also goes into family planning, the use of various types of contraception, and raising children.
Rescind your signature. Contracts cannot bind you for life. Also, contracts must provide consideration for both parties. The Philippine government provides no consideration for the foreigner in a marriage contract. So, it is not a legal contract. Send a letter of Rescission of Signature and have it notarized.
Hi Sir,Phillip, may I clarify if my fiance needs to secure a notarized document stating that he is single/never married?or he just need an apostilled birth certificate for him to secure the Legal Capacity to Marry from the US Embassy in Manila? Thank you so much for your reply.
Nope, if he has never been married before then there is no need for any additional documentation about his marriage status. He will just show his passport, request the affidavit, and then pay the small fee.
We are so thankful for your reply, Sir. One more thing, he has a copy of his Original Birth Certificate, you mentioned in your video that the US Embassy requires an Apostilled Birth Certificate. Is the original b-cert Apostilled already or how does he know if it's Apostilled or not? He is far from W D.C right now but he has his original birth certificate. Thank you so much for your reply again,Sir
@@jedlejano6651 No problem, happy to help! He should take his birth certificate with him to the Embassy (just in case), but they will likely not need to see it there. The apostilled birth certificate really doesn't come into play until you start the marriage license application process at your local Civil Registrar. It is unlikely that his birth certificate is already apostilled. An apostilled birth certificate will have a cover page stating that it is specifically apostilled for use in the Philippines with a gold sticker that binds the cover page to the original birth certificate. To get the apostille, he will will have to visit a Secretary of State office (in the state he was born in) that provides the apostille service. I live in Illinois and on the Illinois Secretary of State website it found that there are two locations in Illinois offer Apostille services. He should be able to find a location that accepts walk in apostilles for only a few dollars. If he is not still living in the state that issued his birth certificate, he will have to travel back to that state or have it apostilled through the mail.
regarding the certificate of capacity to marry as an American, I read that alternatively, you can use a local notary public in the Philippines and sign a contract to marriage affidavit. Do you know this to be true?
This was previously allowed on a temporary basis under PSA Memorandum Circular Nos. 2023-15 & 2023-16. However, since October 31, 2023, you are no longer allowed to do this and are required to obtain the affidavit from the US Embassy or Consular Agency.
Yes, original birth certificate works as it should have an embossed seal on it. You will still want to have it apostilled at your Secretary of State office for use in the Philippines though.
Thank you sir this is affirmative but I am not jumping into conclusion is there anyway I could get my fiancée here in the United States the quickest, I am Filam born and raised here down pacific and Atlantic memorial hospital in Long Beach CA, had a United States passport since i was still a baby, only 16 months old I experienced my first time flying off in the the Philippines and I came back here after 30 days vacation along with my parents, any suggestions give me the best, I’ve had watched a lot of UA-camrs LDR and how they get Visa and all but it is still I’m doubting it sounds easy but in the reality it is a lot, I’m getting thru my patience so far if could make it
@@motivationontop6587 Unfortunately the best ways are the K-1 fiance visa or the CR-1 spousal visa. The K-1 visa used to be fairly quick, but now both types are taking 12+ months to process. Technically there is another way, but I DO NOT recommend it. I have heard of people having a 100% spontaneous marriage when their significant other was visiting the US on a tourist visa. There have been cases where the spouse was allowed to stay in the US while filing for change of status (green card). I believe this is technically legal if the marriage is completely spontaneous and not preplanned, but it is very difficult to prove that it wasn't planned. You can cause a lot of issues if USCIS investigates and determines that you purposely did this to evade the fiance or spousal visa processes. I wish things weren't so complicated, but unfortunately it is what it is. I am currently going through the CR-1 visa process and will post a step by step guide as soon as I get through it.
I was over to the Philippines, February 2024 right after you and I’m happy you shared this information but it takes a long time says for a Filipino blogger with lawyer and such but yet it’s cheaper for lawyer over there. I’m pretty sure my paperwork together for I don’t know how to do that. I tried it once I messed it up friend of mine said better not do it again that way too many times he’s married to Philippine woman about 10 years ago. I live in the United States, my friend, my friend Relative reached out to me ago so I came to Philippines a year later now I’m hoping to get better finance going then getting married to spring 2025
One question now though is it better to get a lawyer and just stay in the United States and have her come over here on a visa fiancé which way is quicker which way is least expensive, which is the best way to feel of your own opinion I don’t make a lot of money soI’m not high wage man
Hi me and my bf is planning to get married here in pH too this coming January 2025, I am so happy to see your video, and I swear it helps a lot, however can you pls send here the link where you scheduled your appointment with the embassy for my bf, he's an American too. I've tried several times looking for the link where he can schedule the appointment but it's leading me to a very far link or content.. can you plsss give us the link you used to schedule? Thank you, I hope you can see my comment.
Hello! I would HIGHLY suggest contacting your local civil registrar ahead of time to schedule the counseling appointment. We made the mistake of not doing this, and found out that our civil registrar only held counseling one day a week! Thankfully we were lucky and timed it right, but if we were off by a day or two whole process would have gotten delayed by a week.
Hi! Watch the videos and congratulations to both of you. Have some questions though. My fiance is from Ohio and we've been dating for almost 3 years now. Planning to get married here in the Philippines as it is much less complicated and cheap compared to getting married in the US. He said as per US immigration policy (he searched thru their website) that there should be a 30-day contact. He did come here just last week for 6 days (1st time). Now, I'm currently processing my documents for me to be able to fly to Ohio and spent at least a month there just to comply to that "30-day contact". Is the "30-day contact" really a requirement in US? Any advice you can give us will be very appreciated. Thank you and wish you both all the best!
Yeah, I wasn't familiar with it either before I started looking into marriage requirements for the Philippines. Did your wife come over on a fiance visa? If so, how was that process?
@phillipsinthephilippines We got really lucky. The K1 visa process was smooth as silk for us. 5.5 months to visa in hand. We got lucky in regard that we arrived in the US late November 2019, pretty much right before Covid. If we had delayed or chosen a longer process such as CR-1, we might not be together today. A lot of couples didn't make it. They couldn't endure the stress and anxiety of the delays imposed by Covid.
Hiii plz also let me know the process if you are going through with it as well I am also in the same position ( Canadian marrying a Filipino man ty ❤ )
Hi! Thanks you for the info! just wanted to ask do you need any other requirements or documents to get Affidavit in Lieu of Certificate of Legal Capacity to Marry to bring with you at the US Embassy other than scheduling an appointment?
@@Yuri.404 Hello here is the link: evisaforms.state.gov/acs/default.asp?postcode=MNL&appcode=1 Select the option for "Request notarial and other services not listed above" and then select a date for your fiance's appointment. Very helpful, thank you! Just to verify, i did see a comment saying that the legal capacity to marry contract is issued the same day and there's no waiting period, am i correct on that?
The passport doesn't need to be apostilled, but the birth certificate does. Yes, it was done through the Secretary of State office. Each state might be a little bit different, but they typically provide walk in or mail in services.
@phillipsinthephilippines awesome thanks for reply. This video just saved me. I am going to marry my fiance next month and that's the only thing I'm missing the apostille on my birth certificate. Congratulations on your new marriage!
Hello! You would follow the same process for a church wedding. The only difference is... after your have completed the marriage application process with your Civil Registrar, you would then reach out to church officials at the church you would like to hold the wedding at so that you can begin scheduling the date. Also, depending on the church, they may require additional faith based marriage counseling prior to the wedding. Taking these extra steps into consideration, I would say that a civil wedding is a slightly easier process, especially if there are constraints for how much time your fiancé has in the Philippines.
Thanks for taking some of the mystery out of the process. We are having a Pastor marry us who will handle some of the red tape. Have you said what town you married at? CDO has a raffle system for the officiating person that we were directly told could add weeks to the process. Yikes!
Glad to help, congratulations on your upcoming marriage! We got married in Banga, Aklan, a small provincial town and the mayor of the town was our officiator. I hope things go smoothly for you and don't take too long. No matter the wait, it will be well worth it!
Thanks very much! We have been engaged for 7 years. We were denied for the K1 after a years wait. So now taking this route. My wife not doing the divorce quickly has made it go for a long time.

Hello, it should be relatively similar but I think Australians get an actual certificate called Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage (CNI) from the Australian Embassy in Manila.
Hello, is it required to go to the embassy in person? Or is it possible to submit the documents online or send the papers, and there's no need to go to the embassy?
As far as I know, it is required to visit the embassy in person as the affidavit must be signed in front of the Embassy official (who serves as a witness).
Hi, I'm a little confused about having two copies of everything. Do I need to pay to have two original/certified birth cerificates and then pay to have both of those apostilled? Do I also pay to have two copies of my passport ID page notarized? Or, do I just get one certified and apostilled birth certificate and one copy of my passport notarized and then just make photocopies of those after the fact? Sorry and thank you, this is all a bit confusing for me haha.
Hello! When I say bring 2 or 3 copies of each document with you, I just mean regular photocopies. They will want to see the originals, and may ask to hang on to a copy of two when you apply for the marriage license. So you will just need one certified & apostilled birth certificate, and a few photocopies of the birth certificate and the apostille page. Same with the passport ID page, just some regular photocopies will do. You don't need to have to it notorized.
I’m going to be doing the very same thing. I’m from Minnesota USA do you have a email that I can ask you some questions dealing with my marriage questions? Thank you for this helpful video.
For the Affidavit do you have to show your divorce decree and does it need to be apostilled? If so since mine was stapled and sealed by the Secretary of State do I need 2? Thanks again for the information.
I cannot speak from experience, but from what I have researched the short answer is yes, you will want to bring your divorce decree and make sure that is apostilled (otherwise they may not be able to verify it's authenticity oversees). You only need to get the the official copy apostilled and then you can bring a photocopy or two with you in case you need to submit a photocopy when you apply for the marriage license.
OMG another Phillips, in the Philippines hahaha....Congrats bro on your marraige, I too am working towards doing the same soon. Only difference is, I already live here in PH going on year #2 in July of this year.....Better to hear it from someone who's "been there, done that" that most info found online....
You can get apostille services through your Secretary of State office or through a third party document verification agency. There is a sample affidavit template on the U.S. Embassy website near the bottom under "Other Notary Services" ph.usembassy.gov/services/notarials/
@@phillipsinthephilippines My boyfriend is in the us right now can we use and download that template and apostille it to the secretary of state while he is there in the us the afidavit of capity to contract to marry???

Hello. This is very helpful information. I have a couple questions for my friend. He is going to marry his fiancée in the Philippines and she gave him a list of things that he needs . Where does he get the letter of capacity to get married ?
Hello, assuming he is from the U.S...the U.S. does not provide a Certificate of Legal Capacity to Marry. Instead he must obtain an Affidavit in Lieu of Certificate of Legal Capacity to Marry. This is obtained by appointment only from either the U.S. Embassy in Manila or the U.S. Consular Agency in Cebu City. To make an appointment, visit either link at the bottom of this webpage: ph.usembassy.gov/services/notarials/#other
Hello! Based on what I have heard from others, the US Embassy in Manila seems to have very limited appointments available. If you are unable to make an appointment there, you can try to US Consular office in Cebu. Here is the link:ph.usembassy.gov/services/notarials/. Unfortunately it seems like the website is down for the legal capacity to marry template. If you email me at phillipsinthephilippines@gmail.com I can give you the template that I downloaded from the Embassy website as well as the template that was given to me when I arrived at the Embassy.
Actually one more question regarding the tax certificate... does the resident of the US need to provide that on his behalf or is it just for his fiancé who lives in the philippines? And getting the documents Apostilled, you said their were 3, the birth certificate, the single status letter, and the passport? Just want to make sure i understood you correct.
That is only for the Filipina fiance, and this may or may not be asked for depending on which municipality you are getting married in. As for the apostille, you only need to get your birth certificate apostilled unless you have been married previously.. then you would want to have your divorce decree apostilled as well. The affidavit in lieu of certificate of capacity to marry and your passport do not need to be apostilled.
Hello, you can set up an appointment with the US Embassy in Manila using the link below. Select the option for "Request notarial and other services not listed above" and then select a date for your fiance's appointment. When I started the application process I wasn't convinced that it would really make a difference. I was reading claims that less than 5 129F applications get approved each year, and that it was a waste of time. However, I have recently heard some people claiming that it sped up the processing time of their I-130. It is free to file, so it is worth a shot.

A couple of places that I have stayed at in Manila are Hop Inn Hotel Aseana City and Savoy Hotel. They aren't necessarily right next to the embassy, but just a short taxi ride away.

Hello, I believe that he will have to have his divorce papers (decrees) apostilled at his local Secretary of State office along with his birth certificate. He will need to bring the divorce paperwork to the US Embassy when he goes to get the Affidavit in Lieu of Certificate of Legal Capacity to Marry as they will need to document that he has been previously married.
Sir question i am currently in the philippines if my birth certificate is not apostille do i just get it notorized and be good, ty for your information.
I would check first with the municipality that you are planning to register for your marriage license at. Most municipalities require apostilled documents because they have no way of authenticating documents from foreign countries. Although, it is possible that some municipalities could be more strict on this than others... so it is worth a shot to reach out and ask.
Does stamp from the original copy of the American birth certificate acceptable for legal purpose? Or still needs to get it apostilled? We're so confused. Bc most of the resources they don't ask, I mean it's not indicated.. we really need your help we are so confused rn. Bc my American boyfriend is having a hard time getting an appointment with their governor's office in Hawaii.
From my research and experience getting married there, the birth certificate needs to be apostilled to prove to the Civil Registrar's office that the certificate is authentic. I cannot tell you for certain that every Civil Registrar office will be strict about this, but you would not want to run into issues if they do not accept the birth certificate... perhaps you could contact the specific office that you plan to apply for the marriage license at and ask them if they will accept the birth certificate without the apostille?

Yes you will need to bring your original birth certificate; however, if it is not already apostilled you may want to hire a document authentication agency in the US to help you facilitate the apostille process. I believe birth certificates can only be apostilled in the country of origin.
I have my fiance, His divorced catholic from USA was married for 20 years. He can remarry again in a catholic church? I am Catholic from Philippines...because catholic church not allowed in usa to remarry in Catholic church again
So you need the license first before getting married? Me and my wife got married before even receiving the license and I leave today and our license got approved yesterday and we was told she can finish up the whole marriage certificate herself. Unless we are being lied to.
I think there may be some confusion between the license and the certificate. The license is essentially just the official approval of the all the paperwork that you had to submit to the civil registrar to start the marriage process. Our municipality required a 10 day waiting period after the paperwork was submitted before they would approve the marriage to take place. Similarly to you, once we were married I traveled back to the US and my wife handled everything with the marriage certificate on her own. If I have misunderstood your question, perhaps things are slightly different from municipality to municipality. I would trust whatever they told you.
@@phillipsinthephilippines what happen was, we did get married before the license was even approved. Here’s a question. What if you were married in the Philippines, brought your wife to America, she becomes a US citizen but years later the marriage doesn’t work, you get a divorce in America, you meet another filipina and you want to get married in the Philippines again?
I believe they only offer Apostille services for Filipinos. U.S. documents can only be apostilled through the Secretary of State office in the state that the document originated in.
To get married in the Philippines, you are the only one who will need to have your records apostilled. If she plans to move to the US, she would want to have her records apostilled as well so that they can be authenticated for use abroad.
What happens if The Secretary of State office says that they don’t apostle birth certificates and only passports? Is that going to be an issue in the Philippines?
There is a phone number listed on the Secretary of State website under the section titled "Washington State Center for Vital Statistics". This section specifically mentions apostilles for birth certificates, so hopefully this can get you in contact with the right department: www.sos.wa.gov/corporations-charities/apostilles-program/apostille-document-guidelines
I’m curious, sir why didn’t you use a service like JRC or something for a expedited marriage please reply back The reason I asked this is because a lot of people just use the consulting services to do all the paperwork and they’re married within three weeks with less hassle. All of the consulate paperwork you need service can do that a lot quicker than you.😮
I'm not sure if they would allow him to show up using an appointment under your name. If you can, I would try to reach out to the Embassy by phone and explain the situation and see what solutions they offer you.
Our officiator was the mayor of the municipality that we got married in. I don't believe there was any extra fee for him the officiate the wedding, other than the small processing fee that was paid as part of the marriage application process.
I believe birth certificates can only be apostilled through the issuing country, which would mean it would have to be apostilled in Mexico. You can likely have the process completed through the mail, but I would recommend working with a document authentication service provider in the US who specializes in this kind of work. You definitely don't want your birth certificate getting lost in the mail.
@@joseaceves3830 If your divorce papers were obtained in the U.S., they can be apostilled in the U.S. Your birth certificate would still need to be apostilled in Mexico.
It is a certificate sometimes given by the Barangay (or smaller neighborhood government) that verifies that your Filipina lives in the municipality that you are applying for the marriage license in. It may not be required, and in my case it wasn't.

Rescind your signature. Contracts cannot bind you for life. Also, contracts must provide consideration for both parties.
Thank you very much.

regarding the certificate of capacity to marry as an American, I read that alternatively, you can use a local notary public in the Philippines and sign a contract to marriage affidavit.
@@phillipsinthephilippines ahh I see. Thanks. also, regarding the birth certificate. Is just an original copy okay to use?
One question now though is it better to get a lawyer and just stay in the United States and have her come over here on a visa fiancé which way is quicker which way is least expensive, which is the best way to feel of your own opinion I don’t make a lot of money soI’m not high wage man

what if we do the civil wedding counseling online before my fiancé flies here to the Philippines?
Out of the topic, where did you bought the wedding ring? Did you bought in the Philippines? Thanks in advance
Hi, I bought the wedding ring in the U.S. through an online jewelry retailer called Rare Carat.
Did Registrar require locally NOTARIZED copies of Birth certificate? Same question for the Divorce Decree.
No, so long as the documents are apostilled in the US they do not require local notarization.
Hi! Did you schedule your counseling ahead of time before you arrived? Thanks!
This definitely stressful... I already got my flights booked for November now im hoping I can line everything up..
I felt the same way, but it is not as bad as it seems. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!
I never knew about the apostilled thing, but we got married in the US.
Very good I'm a Canadian I think the process is much the same for me.

You need to bring your passport and $50 USD (or PHP equivalent) or a credit card to pay. They didn't ask me for any other documentation.

Be sure to screenshot or print your appointment confirmation sheet as your fiance will need it to enter the embassy. Once he is inside, he will be able to request the affidavit in lieu of certificate of capacity to marry from the service desk.
Very helpful, thank you! Just to verify, i did see a comment saying that the legal capacity to marry contract is issued the same day and there's no waiting period, am i correct on that?
Yes, that is correct!
Thanks for the info. Does the passport need to be apostilled? You were able to get that in your state?
The passport doesn't need to be apostilled, but the birth certificate does. Yes, it was done through the Secretary of State office. Each state might be a little bit different, but they typically provide walk in or mail in services.
@phillipsinthephilippines awesome thanks for reply. This video just saved me. I am going to marry my fiance next month and that's the only thing I'm missing the apostille on my birth certificate. Congratulations on your new marriage!
Hi Sir, is having a civil and church wedding had a different process? If yes, which one is easiest?
Good evening, thank you for this video. May i ask if they need a witness with you to get a legal capacity in US EMBASSY MANILA.?

Appreciate your response..we already got ours. Thankyou
Where you do your immigration processing in the Philippines or the USA?
In the US, but it can be done online. My wife is currently waiting for her spousal visa.. estimated 6 months from now (~1 year total)

What step deals with the prenup if you choose to have one?
Hello, I believe they would be dealt with during the marriage application process with your local Civil Registrar.
We trying to do appointment at us embassy here at Philippines but dont have available date . All are booked. So wht should we do about it. We gettingt married on june 2024
You can go to the U.S. Consular Agency in Cebu. Just checked and it looks like they still have available appointments.
Hi! How long does it take to get the affidavit from the US Embassy in Manila? Thanks.
You will receive it immediately during the appointment at the embassy.
Good morning, may i asked if this also same process if my fiance from australia?
Hello, it should be relatively similar but I think Australians get an actual certificate called Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage (CNI) from the Australian Embassy in Manila.
Hello, is it required to go to the embassy in person? Or is it possible to submit the documents online or send the papers, and there's no need to go to the embassy?
As far as I know, it is required to visit the embassy in person as the affidavit must be signed in front of the Embassy official (who serves as a witness).
@@phillipsinthephilippines Thanks po.

I have a question sir, how to get an apostille? And affidavit template?
You can get apostille services through your Secretary of State office or through a third party document verification agency. There is a sample affidavit template on the U.S. Embassy website near the bottom under "Other Notary Services" ph.usembassy.gov/services/notarials/
@@phillipsinthephilippines My boyfriend is in the us right now can we use and download that template and apostille it to the secretary of state while he is there in the us the afidavit of capity to contract to marry???
@@rochellegranada413 The appostille can be obtained in the US at the Secretary of State, but the Affidavit for Capacity to Marry can only be obtained in the Philippines... either at that US Embassy in Manila or the US Consolate in Cebu City.
To make an appointment, visit either link at the bottom of this webpage: ph.usembassy.gov/services/notarials/#other
Hi sir can i ask where can i got appointment to us embassy .? Or the link of embassy to get legal capacity thank you in advance

Did you apply for the K3 for her to come while waiting for her green card? If so, how long for the approval? How long to get her into US?
We only submitted the I-130 application. Applied in March, 2023 and it's currently looking like we have about 6 months left.
I’m curious why you didn’t apply for the K3, so she could come sooner?
When I started the application process I wasn't convinced that it would really make a difference. I was reading claims that less than 5 129F applications get approved each year, and that it was a waste of time. However, I have recently heard some people claiming that it sped up the processing time of their I-130. It is free to file, so it is worth a shot.

Hi sir,if he is already divorce in the USA then he wanted to marry me here in the Philippines. What are the requirements except a divorce paper??

I believe birth certificates can only be apostilled in the country of origin.
why not just get married once you move to the Philippines.
I have my fiance, His divorced catholic from USA was married for 20 years. He can remarry again in a catholic church? I am Catholic from Philippines...because catholic church not allowed in usa to remarry in Catholic church again
Hmm, I don't know that I can help with this one. I am not Catholic so I am not very familiar with their positions on divorce and remarriage.
Why even bother getting married in the first place dude 😆😂😂
Does the Consular Office in Cebu offer apostille services
I believe they only offer Apostille services for Filipinos. U.S. documents can only be apostilled through the Secretary of State office in the state that the document originated in.
So in that regard my Filipina should have her records apostilled as well?
To get married in the Philippines, you are the only one who will need to have your records apostilled. If she plans to move to the US, she would want to have her records apostilled as well so that they can be authenticated for use abroad.

I'm not sure if they would allow him to show up using an appointment under your name. If you can, I would try to reach out to the Embassy by phone and explain the situation and see what solutions they offer you.
Sucks when you live on another island and you have to fly for paperwork in the embassy
Yeah definitely a pain. Thankfully the flights to and from Manila or Cebu are pretty quick and inexpensive.
Omg am I trying to get married or become the president of the country
🤣
How much did you pay for your officiator?
Our officiator was the mayor of the municipality that we got married in. I don't believe there was any extra fee for him the officiate the wedding, other than the small processing fee that was paid as part of the marriage application process.
What if I was born in Mexico but became an US Citizen I have an American passport
I have my divorce papers.I have my birth certificate from mexico
@@joseaceves3830 If your divorce papers were obtained in the U.S., they can be apostilled in the U.S. Your birth certificate would still need to be apostilled in Mexico.
I was born in Mexico also and Im a US Citizen now, Did you ever find out if we have to get our Birth certificate Apostilled?
Wtf is a bearing guy certificate. There was no spelling and my Filipina doesn't know what that is lol
It is a certificate sometimes given by the Barangay (or smaller neighborhood government) that verifies that your Filipina lives in the municipality that you are applying for the marriage license in. It may not be required, and in my case it wasn't.
