Picked one up with the Watch 5 Pro. Got $925 trade in value for my S21 Ultra. Will be my first foldable. I'd been waiting until the form factor matured a bit more and it seems like it's finally in a place where they've fixed most of the pain points. I'm slightly worried about subpar battery life compared to my S21 Ultra, but hopefully the new SoC inside will improve it a bit over the Fold 3.
Well, I held off on the Fold 3 last year. Decided to trade in my Note 20 Ultra for the Fold 4 (came out to around $900 after the trade in). Note 20 Ultra is great, but I've been meaning to give these folding phones a shot. if I like it, sweet. If not, I'll keep the device for a year, and maybe trade for an Ultra down the line. The Fold 4 should have pretty great trade-in value for a few years at least.
I am thinking about doing the same thing with same device for the same reason, it comes out at $950 for me for the 256GB. The typing experience I had with the Fold 1 is making me hesistant a bit

From 4:29 till the end the battery went from 92% down to 86% that is 6% of battery life in just 11 minutes. I understood Samsung makes their own Oled screen but it doesn’t mean making the whole sky Oled gonna generate a good revenue. 😅
Im upgrading to this from the fold 2, really excited about the task bar and added flex modes, and especially the S-Pen support. Great trade in deal and bundle with the watch 5 pro and buds pro 2.

Credit for the bud2 pro, case with S pen, wireless charger all for free. Out of pocket cost $799. not bad considering the extras. I was going to pay a little more for the watch, but I don't wear the one I have already. So I'll take the freebies......I probably won't get mine until September.

The inside screen is fine but the outside one is pretty much non functional now. I've best it up pretty good and I was surprised by how durable it's been. (I wear shorts almost every day and it slides out of the pockets when I sit, gonna start wearing jeans now..). So i didn't get 1000, they gave me 700 which is more than it's worth in this condition so I'll take it

I'll remove them before I send it in. bubbles on both. But luckily no screen damage.. The only damage mine has is on the bendable hinge. Just some small imperfections...I understand the shorts with not so deep pockets I try to avoid those. Not easy though.. 😕
@@Keeping-It-Real-55 that's what they tell you on the app, haven't sent it in yet, read through the conditions and it's fine that the screen is cracked as long as the cameras all work, mine do. They aren't really too picky about, as long as it's not cracked, they'll give you the 1000 and not say anything about the hinge
I literally just financed the Z Fold 3 last week lmao. Luckily verizon has a 30 day return policy. Once this phone drops on August 26th I'm going to get one. I'm going to hang onto it for three years and then upgrade.
this phone can be used lile a mini pocket notebook then the hinge doesn't bother you,,,,, this and the book 2 pro 360 makes an awesome duo,,,,, and an m8 4k smart monitor wpuld be nice

Never intended to ditch my iPhone 13 Pro Max but Samsung trade in was unbelievable. Bought a used Z flip 3 for $400 to trade in for $1000. It will end up costing me $1400 for the Z fold 4 with free $100 case, Watch 5 pro and buds 2 pro. That’s almost what my iPhone 13 prom max cost me, and if you add the Apple Watch 7 and AirPods it’s closer to $2000. Just hope I like the phone like I liked it in store.
A charging cable with 2 USB type c ends? What's that point? They force you to buy a charging block that has that connection. Not sure if it's lazy or greedy that they don't give us the charging block anymore. At least include an adaptor so we can charge the ph1 right away. For me the color or the phone is pointless most people get a ph1 case anyway
As someone who looks forward to upgrading every year, I think I have to agree. I'd love to upgrade, but I just can't justify the cost with such minimal upgrades. We'll see though what the S23 brings though. I may just go back to my "Note" line with the Ultra.

No need to upgrade. It's kind of Pathetic with the "upgrades" that they did on this. All we wanted was a much better front screen.. Samsung is obviously trying to string us along until next year them BOOM bigger front screen. And will be $50-$100 more than the Fold 4. I am tired of this companies giving us MEDICORE updates and charging more than it's predecessor. They would have to give me 1200 off for my mint condition Fold 3 W/ Fold Edition Pen to even consider this.
I have no use for it, so hope they don't do it and make the price even higher and the design even bulkier. If you can't leave without a pen, just get the optional case, or go for the Ultra, where the integrated pen is the main selling point. I certainly don't want every new Samsung device to come with a pen.
Somebody needs to make a protective case for this unit that contains a telescopic lens over camera, an extra battery, and an internal s pen slot, all inside the protective case! That would sell like hot-cakes! I don't care how much thicker the whole unit gets...!
If you already have a Fold3 and you still like it, this doesn't seem like it's worth the upgrade. Keep the fold 3 for at least another year and see what comes out then. However, if you are considering a foldable for the first time, like me, I think the 4 is where you want to start. I went back and forth between the 3 and 4 and I'm just going to go for the 4. I was considering keeping my note 10+ for just one more year. But, I've been eyeing these folds for over a year now and I think it's at a point where most of the major issues should be ironed out. Plus I'm keeping my 10 so if it's really bad I can just go back to that or trade it for s22 ultra. Which is basically a rebranded note.
I see bunch of screen protectors on Amazon for the main display. Do you recommend one? I know Samsung says there is some kind of coating but not sure how protective it is
I found out the new Fold 4 did not remember my FB password,... after installed and logged in then logged out, when I came back to FB, I encountered that FB keeps asking for password. In the old phone, the password was remembered and it automatically filled in when log in facebook, I called ( and lost a whole day with Samsung support ) but it appeared the matter could not be resolved, debugged. Have you encountered such a problem ? or could you find out how to fix this... it appeared that something in the new operating system of Samsung that did this ( prevent the system to fill out the remembered password that stored in the samsung Pass )

I have a very bad experience with Sumsung Fold 4 and very bad experience with Sumsung's customer after sale services , it LCD not functioning just after few months ( not able to connect to wifi , not able to connect hot spot, the front external screen not responding, not able to detect the Sims card and a lot of Sumsung phone users facing the same issues . The customer service team lost my phone data and yet made a policy to erase all our phone data before send in for any services , I worry same problem with come back again and again

@@ValCharis no, it's at a very slight angle, i would say like 1 or 2 degrees, however I'm probably in the minority because i REALLY beat up my phones.. dropped it lots and lots of times, taken it to the beach, worked construction jobs, gotten it soaking wet, etc and i am very surprised by how well it's held up. I actually broke the outside screen but the inside one is fine. Again I'm very surprised and impressed by the durability of the phone given how roughly I've treated it

@@kevinteran5624 The difference is the size of your hands. I have large hands and had problems on certain OnePlus as well as, Sony Xperia phones. Narrow phones do not work for me. I need width, like that offered on the S22 Ultra.

I just checked the price in Canada on the Samsung website. To purchase one outright it cost $2029 and that doesn't included the S Pen or a charger. . By the time your purchase even those 3 items+ tax it's $2415. Is Samsung on crack.. I still don't get why phones don't include a charger. If you have a phone you usually sell it with the charger so you have to still purchase a new one. If it's your first phone you wouldn't have a charger so you have to purchase one.. It's just a scam to get you to pay more money....I guess I'll be keeping my Note 10+ that actually came with a charger and a pen included.

I’m currently using iPhone 11 Pro but planning to get a new device but I’m confused in between iPhone 14 pro max and Z fold 4. Got mine and when I fully open it, it doesn't have that locking feel. I might have a defect.

I had Fold3 for 3 months. Inner screen stopped working after 3 months and traded it for S22 ultra. Not an issue since my upgrade.
I was hoping the outer screen would be bigger I may just keep my Fold 2 I see no reason to upgrade.

On the inner, but not on the outer display. But they are using the new harder Corning Gorilla Glass, so you don't really need it.

I was considering keeping my note 10+ for just one more year. But, I've been eyeing these folds for over a year now and I think it's at a point where most of the major issues should be ironed out. Plus I'm keeping my 10 so if it's really bad I can just go back to that or trade it for s22 ultra. Which is basically a rebranded note.
I see bunch of screen protectors on Amazon for the main display. Do you recommend one? I know Samsung says there is some kind of coating but not sure how protective it is

I found out the new Fold 4 did not remember my FB password,... after installed and logged in then logged out, when I came back to FB, I encountered that FB keeps asking for password. In the old phone, the password was remembered and it automatically filled in when log in facebook, I called ( and lost a whole day with Samsung support ) but it appeared the matter could not be resolved, debugged. Have you encountered such a problem ? or could you find out how to fix this... it appeared that something in the new operating system of Samsung that did this ( prevent the system to fill out the remembered password that stored in the samsung Pass )

I have a very bad experience with Sumsung Fold 4 and very bad experience with Sumsung's customer after sale services , it LCD not functioning just after few months ( not able to connect to wifi , not able to connect hot spot, the front external screen not responding, not able to detect the Sims card and a lot of Sumsung phone users facing the same issues . The customer service team lost my phone data and yet made a policy to erase all our phone data before send in for any services , I worry same problem with come back again and again

Yes I do. I use it alot more than my Galaxy Tab S7. It's extremely convenient. Especially for social media surfing or getting lost in UA-cam.

@@ValCharis no, it's at a very slight angle, i would say like 1 or 2 degrees, however I'm probably in the minority because i REALLY beat up my phones.. dropped it lots and lots of times, taken it to the beach, worked construction jobs, gotten it soaking wet, etc and i am very surprised by how well it's held up. I actually broke the outside screen but the inside one is fine. Again I'm very surprised and impressed by the durability of the phone given how roughly I've treated it

@@ValCharis i kept it on for about 3 months before it started to unstick, i just took it off myself, and never replaced it. It wouldn't be too hard to replace it yourself, same as any other screen protector

@@kevinteran5624 The difference is the size of your hands. I have large hands and had problems on certain OnePlus as well as, Sony Xperia phones. Narrow phones do not work for me. I need width, like that offered on the S22 Ultra.

I just checked the price in Canada on the Samsung website. To purchase one outright it cost $2029 and that doesn't included the S Pen or a charger. . By the time your purchase even those 3 items+ tax it's $2415. Is Samsung on crack.. I still don't get why phones don't include a charger. If you have a phone you usually sell it with the charger so you have to still purchase a new one. If it's your first phone you wouldn't have a charger so you have to purchase one.. It's just a scam to get you to pay more money....I guess I'll be keeping my Note 10+ that actually came with a charger and a pen included.

Being a long time galaxy user I can’t help but feel this is about as far from a flagship experience as you can get , much like nearly every other recent galaxy Samsung sells these days .
Not that samsung is alone in the way phones are shipped by some manufacturers, it’s disappointing though.

I’m currently using iPhone 11 Pro but planning to get a new device but I’m confused in between iPhone 14 pro max and Z fold 4. There are somethings that I like about iPhone and there are some that like about Samsung/android but as of now I’m leaning more towards iPhone because I’ve heard that there are some apps that are still not compatible with Fold’s form factor that’s why I’m thinking to wait for S23 Ultra but I’m not sure what should I do.
