What do you think of Chris Via two-handed bowling technique? Let's hear it

This is the style I'm trying to closely emulate ever since I recently transitioned from a 30+ year standard (thumb in ball) bowler
over to a two handed (no thumb) bowler. People keep saying I need to develop the hop or the shuffle step that other two handers
use and yet Chris doesn't do this whatsoever. I've also seen other Pro 2H bowlers that don't do the ridiculous hippity hop steps.
I want to keep my style as close to the standard one handed (thumb in ball) release as possible while of course eliminating my
thumb completely and watching how my rev rate soars far greater than it ever did with a standard release. I'm finally seeing pin
carry/action down lane that I never used to really see prior to switching over to two handed.

Hop step is great for building power in a small frame. Chris is a big dude who obviously doesn't need a high backswing to send it 20mph.
I have a tiny hop step just to get the extra .5 mph I want most of the time, and I'm 6'3". Doesn't mean you need it, I just think my game needs it.

What Hidden says, the “hop” or also called the power step is used for building up momentum (speed or power), and gaining that extra ballspeed without forcing your arm to be the sole source for that power.

Actually, he positively DOES use a "hop" step at about his 3rd step. Even in this video, you can see where he is actually airborn, with both feet off the ground, during his approach.

Love or hate two-handed, you can't deny that he has one of the smoothest two-handed releases in the PBA. 😊

Graceful and smooth, not much contortion of the body like Belmo. He can bowl with this style into his senior years.

I am in my late 40's and currently toying with two-handed bowling. My carry is up (like way up) but my accuracy is sacrificed compared to how I bowl one-handed. My two handed average is realistically about 10-15 pins lower than one-handed but I believe I can bridge the gap with dedicated practice and a little coaching. What I DIDN'T expect is that I don't have the nerve aggravation problems that I was having one-handed. All I see it doing for me is adding versatility.

Is the left hand just for holding or do you push the ball with it too?
