    Hope it's not same plan they used to keep Becton healthy.

      With Mehki they had him practicing at right tackle right after recovering from a right knee injury. Literally had him using the leg he had an injury on as the one to plant and pivot. This seems to be the exact opposite in terms of precaution.

      Well Becton was healthy all last season

    Good to see you this morning and get the latest Jet news.

    Good, I expect this to be the way they treat him all throughout the season. Just stay in shape, stay healthy, help the young OTs learn, and go play. A guy with his talent, his experience, and his importance has no real reason to be putting in full practices at this stage of his career.

    As a fomer Cowboys fan, this is a MUST. Smith practicing 100% is kinda scary because he can/will go down on a routine play.

    You ever hear Taylor Lewan talk about what Carter makes them do? It’s insane.

    I guess they are trying to protect him from Carter's o line abuse.

    Makes me feel really old seeing someone only 2 years older being “limited” in football practice lol; Smith really is an iron man.

    They’d be fools if they didn’t. Let’s hope they’re not anyway 😁

    This isn't a great sign. Limiting practices never works out. Part of not getting hurt is being conditioned. Less conditioning for games only leads to higher risk. If his injury risk is that high, they shouldn't have brought him in.

      He hasn't played a full season in 4 years.
      Smith has been washed for years.
      Jets LOVE washed up tackles like Duane Brown

      @@yoholmes273 I'm worried this guy isn't gonna be worth it. Douglas loves injury prone Linemen. I hope Olu is ready.

    Are we surprised ? Good idea drafting 2 RBs and 2 DBS instead of selecting more OL. Same movie playing over and over again 🤦🏿‍♀️

    Lets all just be honest.
    GM Joke Douglas has a love-affair with totally washed former superstar tackles.
    Duane Brown was a collosal bust. A totally washed broken player. Relying on him last season completely tanked the entire O line.
    So how does Joke Douglas remedy this obvious blunder?
    By signing another totally broken down washed left tackle!
    What a circus clownshow.
    Smith was a great player about 5 years ago. Smith has been washed and broken down for years which is why The Jets got him on the cheap.
    And correction: Olu is the best NYJ tackle since Brick.

      A healthy Smith is the kind of OT that can go all season giving up no sacks. 😊

      @yoholmes273 3 місяці тому

      @paigecanfield1362 That wouldve been over a decade ago bub.
      Sure , 6 years ago Smith was great. He hasn't played a whole season since.
      It is a total pipe dream to actually believe Smith will somehow "stay healthy".

      @@yoholmes273 How could a guy who made All-pro last year be ¨washed¨. It´s true the Jets can only count on him playing a little more than half the games scheduled but that is why they drafted Fashanu.

    • @yoholmes273
      @yoholmes273 3 місяці тому

      @slowrunner14 Smith appeared in only 13 total games last season and was gifted 2nd team all-pro on name recognition solely.
      The man is always injured.
      Always injured & being broken dow is the exact definition of being washed.
      Smith while an upgrade from Duane "the disaster" Brown, is not a player you can count on , most especially if you actually feel you can go on a deep run.
      Smith won't be available even if the Jets make the playoffs. Smith will be injured on IR long before then.
      It just is what it is.
