You pretty much summed up what I describe to people when it comes to this music. I believe they even coined a term called “Turbo Folk”. However when you look it up on UA-cam most of is stuff that was used a propaganda during the Bosnian and Chechen Wars.
I hadn’t heard it in years until now but I remember a classmate of mine in junior high in the mid 90s had a cassette of stuff like this. He never loaned it out to anyone to copy it because he cherished it.
