I have a mini 3 pro and love it. The range however is far less than my Phantom 4 Pro. I do have a more solid transmission with the mini 3 Pro, but it drops off very quickly. The Phantom just keeps going. Has issues earlier, but just keeps going for longer distance. I live in a wooded area, and I can’t get further than 1km away with the Mini 3 Pro. The Phantom experiences dropouts sooner, but will keep going out to about 4 kms or so before it returns to home. I think the external antennae are the reason the Phantom has more ultimate range. I do wish the RC had external antennae option as it does have more solid connections before it drops out.
I performed this update. I noticed I had to run the update 3 times - once each for the 3 batteries I own. Part of the update also updates the battery firmware. Also, many of my camera settings were reset. Such as I had set video to D-Cine and this was reset to normal. Also I had set stills to capture JPEG+Raw. This was reset to just JPEG. My tip is after the update, check all your settings.
I think you’ll find that it only goes up to your return to home height. If it’s lower than it if it’s already higher than it, I think it stays there it doesn’t come down to it
Hello Simon, thank again for your video. I have a question for you: I updated both my Mini 3 PRO and DJI RC with the newest firmware (1.7.8 and 1.004) and did some range test. I have a battery PLUS. On the way OUT, I reached a very comfortable distance of 5 000 m, with a yellow two bars signal since I passed the 1500 m distance. Response and video feed were good. Battery was at 62% with 19 mn left to fly. Then I started to loose to much signal and I decided to do an RTH. Everything went OK, but on the wayback, I completely lost signal several times during the same back travel (however the RTH continued to work normally), when this did not happen on the way out. Does this mean the reception antennas in the drone work differently according to the drone orientation with the RC? Other strange behavior: during the RTH, the remaining flight time went up to 45 mn when it was indicating 19 mn at the max distance point.!! And I had about 50% battery left when I landed, despite a front wind on the way back while it was back wind on the way out. Does it mean the RTH function optimizes the motors and optimize the battery power, maybe by disabling some internal features, in order to maximize the chances to come home safely? Thank you for your or anybody else feedback
The set RTH-hight is always a minimum. If you press the RTH-button, your drone will ascend to the set RTH-hight when your current altitude is lower, but it will not descend to the set RTH-hight when flying lower..
Hi if you press return to home and your above your return hight it will not drop the hight it stay's at that hight . it only gose to your return to home hight if your below your return to home hight. also if you press return to home and your less than 50 meters away it will return to home but at what ever hight your at , at that moment in time.
I think that what they said with the update is "enhanced transmission" unable, mean that it now can use the 4g module like it was enabled already on the Mavic 3.
That is true. But I can't find anyone testing that outside of China or Russia since it's only available in China. But I would think that maybe the dji 4g dongle is juste a 4g USB key.
A scaled down version of the Mavic 3 will be out soon. Many think it will be around $1300! Supposedly the only thing missing will be the telephoto lens. If true, that will be a great value.
Have your flights been stable on DJI Fly App 1.7.8? Thanks for watching and please remember to like + sub!
Hey Simon, mine up to now has all been good, range has also been good. I've been out to well over 1000 meters. Thanks for the video!
That's awesome, thanks for the update!
Sir, are you able to enter pairing mode? Once drone and controller are turned on, enter pairing mode on both and see if that fixes your problem.
Or if the lights are blinking red to yellow then it means you need compass calibration

Awesome look at the newest app update, thanks for the review as always Simon!!!!

The previous one done this to me also. I was baffled.
Same for me

Yeap minimum RTH
Set it higher than anything around you
Nice one Simon! Like your demo! 👍

Hi I see you’ve got a interesting gimbal cover and also a nice video 👍
Set your gimbal settings
Also master shots in vertical now
Nice run through👍
Thanks 👍
You need to fly higher to get better signals
If the air 2s comes with a longer flight time battery like the mini 3..I would be considering buying it.. otherwise I will be buy the mini 3
