Many police ARE like this one...but it's the "bad apples" that get all of the attention. I worked in Law Enforcement and know so many AMAZING police officers who are professional, kind, compassionate, and truly are civil servants in every aspect of the term. But sadly, we don't often hear about their good deeds...and in fact most officers I know never tell a soul of the great things they do every day. That is my experience, though I know it is not everyone's experience. And that is unfortunate.

While that would've been ideal, any fingerprints it would've had are probably gone so there wouldn't be any way to find the original owner through forensics. Plus they could always just use the serial number on the weapon.

Its because guns are not these super dangerous things that people make them out to be. Guns firing on their own is an extremely rare circumstance and very nearly always requires them being dropped or very poorly mishandled. Too many people have this incredibly fabricated and poorly informed idea of gun safety. Sure, don't be an idiot, but nor does one need to handle a gun like its a new-born infant. Especially modern guns with the crazy amount of safety features that many are coming out with.

To everyone here, fingerprints needs a lot of pressure from their respective fingers and a good amount of time in order for them to be left behind. This is because fingerprints are essentially oil from your fingers molded by the shape from your fingers' prints.
