'Gumnaami' is a film based on the Mukherjee Commission Hearings which happened from 1999 to 2005 where the three theories about Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's death were discussed and debated. In contradiction to previous claims, a journalist comes up with a theory revolving around the mysterious existence and death of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as Gumnaami Baba.

I never believe that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose died in 1945 Plane crash. Whether Gumnami Baba was Netaji or not, at least he was alive after 1945.
All the Governments formed by various Political Parties (whether Congress, pro Congress or anti-Congress) have declined to accept Netaji's existence after 1945, and denied to disclose all the top secret files and documents in this regard.
Even renowned Bengalee national level Congress leaders, such as Pranab Mukherjee, ABA Gani Khan Chowdhury, Priya Ranjan Das Munshi etc. never played positive rolls to solve the Netaji-conundrum. The roles of some members of Bose family are also not beyond question.
Time doesn't wait. So, the sooner, the better. Right now, another enquiry commission should be formed to well judge the reports of all three previous commissions and to solve the mystery. Scholars and researchers like Chandrachur Ghosh and Anuj Dhar should be included in such commission. Every patriot Indian has the right to know the fact.
When Netaji formed the first Government of India, India was not free then, nevertheless, Netaji must be declared as the first ever Prime Minister of India. He was indeed.

Later when Nehru and congress signs dominion status( not independence) with the British, Netaji was dejected and decided to stay away from politics and people. He himself said that in the film, to, one of the visitors, who visited gumnami baba and asked him the reason for staying hidden. India is not independent. Britain gave India on lease to the Indians for 99 years. Nehru himself signed that contract. Netaji was heartbroken with that, He said,’ Bharat allied forces kii ungli pakar ke chal rahaa hai’. This movie was going great until they messed up the ending by creating an extra loud melodramatic cringe climax and over-emotional dialogues, which didn't go well with the theme. The unnecessary explicit scenes and double meaning cheap comedy could have been avoided in Chandrachur's storyline, which was very one-dimensional and clichéd. Netaji's track was smartly directed and better executed comparatively. But at the end, it almost became a megaserial. The music and prosthetics were good.
