Brad this was really helpful information for my extended family I am passing along the video and helping them to clear up their issues......Thanks so much..................Nana ps I had sub and watch your channel in the pass with Justin Rhodes and family such a fine family but had pc problems and had to start over. Take Care Brad and hope all is well with you and the family on the Big Homestead. I would like to request prayers for my family and myself I am bed bound I don't make friends I would enjoy meeting others online for support. My hubby does everything for me. I am a disabled nurse of many years. I loved my job and the people I wish I could do something in that area to help and give back what I have learned over my years in the hospital and experience in life. I could write a short book here will watch more online. Thanks Again.
Thank you brad. This is one video my husband listened to. We special a thousand dollars just for heat and spray so much we wasted because the came back and these bugs are killed by the D- earth.
Diatamaceous earth is rarely enough on its own to rid of a bed bug infestation. Just use crossfire, its an effective and safe pesticide designed specifically for bed bugs, worked for me when Diatamaceous earth didn't.
What areas did you spray and did you take your bed apart and washed all your clothes? i’m about to use crossfire for the first time and I am kind of needing some tips on how to use it.
also used hot boiling water to wash the floors, I sprayed an insecticide called Hawx and I used a regular iron to vapor iron my clothes. Also diatomeas earth works, I bought it in Amazon, just spread a little bit in your room and bed.
Great video! Thank you! I'm curious how much DE you use? Like how tall are the perimeter barriers and how thick? How often do you sweep it up and re-apply? I have to keep DE around my baseboards permanently because the bugs keep coming over from my neighbor's apartment and he's not going to do anything to get rid of them. Also, do you dust your walls and ceiling? Thanks again for the very helpful video and your can-do attitude which is refreshing in the face of my bed bug blues.
My question is.... you're not supposed to breathe it, right. Once you put this down how do you not "poof" it when you walk by it or step on the stuff and it goes poof?
Thank you so much! I had 3 adults and a dog stay with me 6 weeks. They never told me they had bedbugs! When I finally got around to deep cleaning the room they stayed in I found a bedbug!!! I'm freaking out because by now They are an infestation. Tommorow I am going to buy diatomaceous earth food grade. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Doesnt work.... I'm a landlord and I have to deal with bed bugs in my Apartments I have spent money on diamond tacious Earth removing baseboards stuffing the entire perimeter of each apartment with it and then reinstalling the baseboards effectively building a barrier around the entire apartment walls it does not work I'm currently dealing with an infestation right now and need professional chemical solution I would love to think that this works because it would have saved me a ton of money but unfortunately that is not true it does not work
Had an old fragrance company so I know what real oils are. I have found that lavender oil and specifically lavendin or lavender (the 30/32 cut) is working very well. I used to see one or two a day. Now NONE. Not dead, just missing. Yay!
it's stops them biting you and keeps them away from your bed but they will go some where else in the house and wait for another victim it's best for you to know where they are not run them some where else in the house
Arc Tander - That's wonderful! How exactly to you use the lavender oil please? Do you dilute it with water or something else and spray it over everything? I'd love to know your recipe and how often you apply it. Thank you.
I watch your videos because you guys seem like such a nice family. I love to watch the animals and I learn a lot from you. I bought the same exact brand of D.E. powder. This definitely worked for you guys right?
tovasito Yes it is expensive, try using salt instead,it costs less and works almost as well..brush salt into your carpets about 2kgs per room, use broom brush in well, lay a trail of salt around bed, bedhead, perimeter, leave in about a week and vacuum up,throw salt down drain,it could contain bugs and their eggs..salt dries bugs out, this also kills fleas,..
@@celeste7306 I understand I believe 50 bucks is very expensive to. And I live in what used to be the considered the Great USA. +Big Family Homestead hey brad one more question. Can i put it on my cats for fleas. Rubbing it into the fur or would it be bad for them when they lick. i would imagine they may breath it in....
docoluv9 You can, just not too much, also make sure it's FOOD Grade, not the pool filter stuff... and it won't bother them if they lick it, you can actually eat the stuff. Just don't breathe it.
+Big Family Homestead have y'all done any lactofermintation? Like with sour krout... Lol can't ever spell that. Or lactofermintation pickles or other veg? Supposed to be super good fir us.
jerryjamify i ended up putting most of my clothes in the bags. I went all out and I got completely rid of them! They didn’t spread and I had the process going for 3 weeks
jerryjamify yeah i was told that worked too and I looked into it, it said it wasn’t as effective. But I used “diatomaceous earth” and “HOT SHOT BED BUG KILLER WITH EGG KILLER” I used both. 1st I washed all my clothes with hot water 2nd I dried it on high temp for 30 to 40 min. (I actually saw some dead in the dryer when I pulled out the lint to clean the dryer) 3rd i bagged all the clothes as soon as it came out of the drier. I put powder in first then clothes and then powder and more clothes and I ZIP tied the bags 4th I sprayed Bed Bug killer on clothes I did not wash and in every single corner as well as on my floor so they won’t try to get out 5th I laid powder down all around the base board of every single wall. I moved stuff off the walls so they won’t crawl on and hide so nothing was against the wall and I made circles around my furniture and I put powder down around my bed so they wouldn’t bite me. After that I battled for about 2 and half weeks and they were gone! The people I got it from don’t believe I actually got rid of them!!! And I’m so happy I did!!!
if you take melatonin, the bed bugs don't like the taste, one of my grandsons was on melatonin and he was not bit like the other children in the same home.
It kills bedbugs within twenty minutes and it healthy for you! Yes it does smell, but it the most effective way to get rid of them! If you clean were you are living thoroughly and spray everything down with onion juice for a month straight you will get rid of your bedbug problem! The reason I say do this for a month straight is because onion juice doesn't kill the eggs and the eggs will hatch every 6 to 10 days!

My bloody bedoom is too small with way too stuff in it to clean... especially regularly. It also has carpeted floors ffs
Where do I get this at

Apparently you're only supposed to use a very fine amount, not a lot
Hi. Was wondering does Home Depot sell the food grade type? Thanks.
Jennifer Clark did you find out?
I found it at canadian tire in a bucket and also 'squirt' bottles with nozzles

My landlord used this in the place where I live before I moved in, I found out I'm allergic to it

DE works but if they don’t get expose to it, they don’t die.
But I heard it’s dangerous for anyone with lungs to breath in ?
Don't use it spray crossfire instead
Very bad for you
can we put it on our dog and cats as a fleas kill.
Be careful not to use too much as you and pets should not be breathing it in.
If they are up in the ceiling or between the floor in the downstairs ceiling how will I ever get them all?

Just spread DE every where.
They will eventually have to come down to eat. (Bight you)

Good, but not entirely effective. Combined with heat or steam is much more effective. Agree, you don’t need chemicals. I know from experience.
