I was a charter employee and worked from 1976-1978. The park was so wonderful back then. I heard this song many times but never tired of it and now it simply strikes a deeply nostalgic chord. Thanks for the upload 😊
Scott Nolan, cool..we possibly passed each other during the day or sat next to each other in the commisary for lunch 😊 I was a hostess the first year, worked all territories by switching them up weekly. 2nd season I worked games and 3rd season I was a character, played them all before settling mainly on Wile E Coyote. Such a wonderful place to work back then.
worked at sfga for several years, this song was what every employee wanted to hear after a long day. Most of the people I knew in the games department had the whole closing playlist memorized. it's also just a rather pretty song
It hasn't played yet in 2022, but it's in the process of being revived. What a crappy oversight or thoughtless change to not have this signature Marriott's Great America recording play at closing time, as it had for decades.
This song is so nostalgic for me before cga announced that there closing when I was little it had the good rides loggers run revolution and the others❤
If I'm at the park at close, I always try to be on Columbia at the end so I can get a ride with it. I've only been successful about 50% of the time thus far.
It's playing on Sky Trek Tower again in 2024 with an updated narration...if that's the music you are referring to, which was originally pre-show music for a LT show in Theatre Royale, I think.
The vocalists sound similar to the Carowinds March and the songs have a similar quality and structure. I wonder if they were written/produced by the same people.
Long story, but the entire background music system in the park is being replaced and upgraded. A lot of stuff on it currently does not function, including Carousel Song playing at park close. Hopefully for 2024!
@@jolietpinball7439 When I road the train this year they did not play the Marriotts great America song but when a came later in this season they did was that part of it
@@jolietpinball7439That makes me sad. I’m not liking this growing old shit. The park we’re talking about, so that nobody is confused, is Great America theme park located in Santa Clara, CA. The business address and employee entrance is at 2401 Agnew Road, Santa Clara, CA. I worked four seasons there including two in Rides as Lead (Tidal Wave, Lobster were my “home” unit), but I was cross-trained on Demon, Edge and Orlean’s Orbit. Third season I returned as a Security Officer assigned to Mobile (that means I drove a Security vehicle. Generally on day shift I was in the red one. I also worked the entire down-season that year on graveyard shift. I enjoyed that a lot. My fourth and final season I remained in Security, but I was on Day Shift when the park re-opened. Mid-season I was offered the job of EMT in the First Aid medical unit by the AWESOME human being, Carol Catlett. The unit is named after her when she retired. (So many people love you mom!! You are the best boss EVER!) I just re-thought something. This thread mentions a re-working of the entire audio system throughout the park. I should have caught this right away, but to the person who mentioned this, do you know why they would do something so expensive right before they test everything down and put in business offices? Great America will soon be no more, so why the big expense now? The reason I first said I am sad if that’s what they’re doing is because those big speakers buried in the ground (with the green, square tops) give a unique sound that can only be heard there. There’s a good bass vibe, but speaking announcements are also crystal clear. Tech Services did a great job maintaining them and recording new announcements as well as the old classics when I was there. The gentleman who did these announcements did them all from a tiny recording booth inside Tech Services. My fellow old-time GA people: does this ring a bell? “Good morning! Great America will be opening in just a few minutes, but before it does, we ask that you remain standing where you are, as we salute our country, with the National Anthem”. Then it played and everyone stood still with their right hand over their heart. Would this be possible today? At nascar they do it before every race as well as an invocation from a minister in Raceway Ministries (I think it’s called that). But besides sporting events, I don’t know if this simple thing would be allowed or if they would be sued? What do you guys think?
Except the Soundtrack of the Attractions: King Arthur's All-Star Carousel (2003 Version) at Jimmyland Resort in Anaheim, California, United States of America, Moo's All-Star Carousel at Jimmy's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, United States of America, even All-Star Columbia Carousel at Jimmy's Great America in Santa Clara, California, United States of America and All-Star Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, United States of America

I was there from 76 thru 77, but at the other end of the park in the games area. It was a great place to work as ahigh schooler.

At CGA they now play this occasionally during the day!
As of today this song is now playing throughout the park!!!
This is such a beautiful song, thank you for posting it.
They've stopped playing this at close at SFGAm now, and I'm sad.

Really? That's so sad, it's such a beautiful song
It's back! Now playing nightly at park close.
It’s back
The closing of the park was with this song when I grew up and worked there.
Hopefully returning very soon in Gurnee
It's back! Now playing nightly at park close.
This reminds me of riding the carousel during quarantine.
Thank you for uploading this! Memories!!
Nostalgic song 😢😢😢😢
Hopefully they play this when the final day of the park comes❤😢
It's playing at SFGAm at closing again!
They play this song at closing time.
Yes as an employee when this song came on you knew your long day was ending. As a guest you were sad to hear this.
I was there in the beginning 76
Not out here in California. It's playing all day as part of Columbia's music loop.
Frank this played on the ride back in the day and then at closing time it would play throughout the park
My favorite part of my day. And no, not because I got to go home soon.
Plays at closing time
I will learn this on piano with chords

Wrong Great America lol
@@ChuckE.CheesesIllinois the song plays at both parks
@@MortalKnight1-d5pyou said CGA but also mentioned revolution
Ok at Santa Claira they have the music by the entrance coming out of speakers coming out of ground what music is that
I got ride with this

I’d love to get my hands on a clean cut of the Looney Tunes Medley that played for a long time there
