      I will say, disneylands Peter Pan is worth it to me, the vibes are a lot better in my opinion, even though it’s short. usually, tho I try to ride it towards the end of the day, its a little more bearable

      People travel across the to do this ride. So, it just goes to say that a person could just get sucked into the line. It's a 👍 ride, p but not worth an hour and a half to ride it.

      Its an old ride, over 50 years old if you date back to its original opening. A lot of the kids that went on that ride are now grandparents and want to relive the nostalgia of that ride, usually with their children and grandchildren in tow. If you look at the ride, you'll definitely notice that a large majority of the adult guests in line are over the age of 55.

      Seems to be a pretty strong consensus among commenters that SDMT belongs on the list. It would be #6 for MK if the list kept going.

      First time at MK and I was expecting dwarfs to be an amazing coaster but it was one of the most anti-climactic experiences of my life. Waited 2 hrs for that hot garbage.
      However, Avatar ride was also a 2 hour wait and definitely worth it!!

    As someone who’s visited WDW a lot I feel the big issues started when they introduced Genie+ on top of their existing capacity issues. The wait times seem to have gotten longer because they constantly let the Genie+ line through non stop.

    I would add Winnie the Pooh to that list. At Disneyland, the average wait is around 10 minutes. At Disney World, it's like 30-40, and they're basically the same ride.

      I feel like the one at Disney World is *slightly* better, but overall you’re right. Its 30-60 minute wait is hard to swallow when the DL one can be a walk-on so often.

      @@Guide2WDW we just went to Disneyland first time at Christmas but this year we want to go to Disney world for Christmas. How bad is the crowd compare to Disneyland? For mission rewind, the reason a to get motion sickness is looking where the ride inst trying to make you look. If you just focus on what’s infront of you, you’ll most likely wont get motion sickness. And if you do, it’ll be a lot less than if you were looking around

    • @Guide2WDW
      @Guide2WDW  6 місяців тому

      Totally agree. Anytime I felt a little queasy on Cosmic Rewind, I'd just focus on the track or the car ahead of me, and then I'd feel the motion sickness settle down. Although, honestly, it was not a big deal for me, but I was nervous because I had heard that so many people had issues.

    I went to animal kingdom in January and by 6pm I had just gotten out of flight of passage and the only ride left to go on was navi river journey, but the wait was 95 minutes long. We ate and a cast member told us that the ride was actually around 40 minutes, they just exaggerated so people wouldnt go on it, so we entered the line (it was boiling outside and the fans werent really helping) and I got on the boat 40 minutes later... it was so worth it! Its a short ride but the animatronic is stunning and pandora at night is just immaculate

    Just FYI Aladdin has a wheelchair car and Dumbo does not (even after they expanded it) it serves a VERY important function!!! Allowing some of our least mobile family members to enjoy a ride. Very few rides at MK can accommodate a wheelchair so it’s key. It’s a Small World and Under the Sea are two others. It’s really sad that they redo rides or make new rides (I’m looking at you Navi River) and still don’t make them accessible.

    • @Guide2WDW
      @Guide2WDW  3 місяці тому

      I did not realize that. Thank you so much for letting me know. Like you said, that's a really important function, and something I overlooked. Hopefully Disney can do a better job making their rides more accessible moving forward.

    The Atlanta traffic comparison is very factual. Also big agree with the list, apart from the motion sickness picks. Though I'd throw in Mission Space Green (snoozefest) and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. I wouldn't even say seven dwarfs is necessarily a better ride than Big Thunder, but the wait is so ridiculously long for a pretty short ride.

      SMDT is a tough call for me. I love the scene in the middle, and I’m personally really excited to take my son on it as his first real roller coaster. But the wait time is ridiculously long, so it probably would be #6 for me for Magic Kingdom for very similar reasons to Slinky Dog (which I actually think is more fun as a coaster).

    Good list. I don’t agree with all your pics, but they are all reasonable. One thing you got me thinking about is the difference between a few times a lifetime guest vs we Disney geeks who are closer to a few trips per year. There are many rides I’ve done many times before and won’t wait in a long line for. But I would encourage someone whose never been before to endure the wait and ride.

    • @Guide2WDW
      @Guide2WDW  6 місяців тому

      Thank you! I definitely think you make a good point. My tolerance for a long line is really low considering that I’ve been on these rides many times, and I also will have a chance to go again in the not so distant future because of my incurable Disney habit. If I was giving advice to someone who was only visiting once every 4-5 years, I’d probably encourage them to endure the longer waits for the more unique attractions and try to find the strategies to keep waits shorter (Lightning Lane, Single Rider, and early/late hours).

    As a Disney College Program graduate I can confirm this list. I made magic at the Millenium Falcon everyday and had not been to Walt Disney world for almost 18 years. Because we had comp tickets over my 6 months working I did every ride, saw every show, and walked through everything on property including hotels and gift shops, etc. Everyday we would watch wait times and take guesses for which attraction had the highest wait time. We would even talk among ourselves for which rides we would add to which park to help fix the capacity problems. Some days I would go to the parks and only do shows or smaller experience rides. But it didn’t concern me because it didn’t cost money. If those days did I don’t think I would have taken the time to experience everything in the park and would have just went from E ticket ride to E ticket ride.

    I went for basically the first time last November since I'm more of a Universal guy and honestly, no ride was worth the wait. There are are some decent rides like Slinkydog, but for the most part, 95% of the rides felt outdated or the ride had been overhyped online and wasn't impressive. Unless Disney figures out their capacity issues or updates a massive amount of their rides, I won't be going back.

    Ngl, u deffo missed Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Ratatouille. Seven dwarfs is NOT what its hyped up to be. Its a rlly slow coaster with nothing much other than disappointment. Cant remember the exact time I queued for, but it was ×500 longer than it needed to be. AVOID AT ALL POSSIBLE COSTS!!! Ratatouille is rlly boring ride, rlly boring queue, needs to be quicker speed wise imo. I remember my last trip to Disney, I queued for abt an hour (got kinda near the front, but not too close) and they announced there was an error or smth. Waited another half hour and still wasnt fixed, nor could they tell us when it would be. Left the queue and follwed the action on the app, and it was abt another hour before the app labled it as closed. Ive heard that this isnt just a one time thing and happens frequently...

    I think the 90+ minutes lines for Slinky Dog happen because the only other rollercoaster in DHS isn't exactly a family coaster and people tend to be attracted by the kinetic energy of coasters in general (but it really isn't worth the wait tho). It would be great if Disney invested more in longer family coasters with deeper theming (unlike Wandering Oaken's) and bigger capacity to spread out the lines. Seven Dwarfs is another exemple of this type of success with huge lines.

    I personally would switch Space Mountain with Seven Dwarves Mine train. I won’t deny that Space Mountain is showing its age but I still get much more thrill out of that then I do 7 Dwarves which feels way too short while also having a ridiculous wait time. So it’s a bit of a mix of Slinky Dog and Naavi river. So I refuse to go on it without fast pass which is no longer free and with cost and complexity of Disney had led my family to just skip the parks altogether and go to Universal.
    Also with the Tea Cups, I actually tried to go on them quite a few years back because we were there with my nephews and when I got on one, my legs were too big and dug into the turning wheel.

    Former fantasyland cast member here, let me give yall some secrets
    Pan - always has a long wait theres no way around it and the only reason you wont see an update is because the rides location would require cranes and scaffolding etc but its in the middle of the park itd be a massive inconvenience so they wont do anything with it the waits also ling because of the low hourly capacity like two people a boat means very few people an hr
    Pooh fireworks and park close are the best time to get in line with no wait we would normally over estimate by 5-10 mins but it all depends in the dispatch cm if they can do there job they can keep that line moving flawlessly and quickly, on top of this ive seen the line to the entrance with a half decent dispatch cm and it took maybe 15 to get on and off its only because of LL that our line would take so ling
    Tea cups is a 2 min ride with a decently high capacity as long as everyone sits down doesnt stand and keeps the doors closed we would be rolling quickly outside of this though if someone stands mid ride we would start from the top again which would add time before you get on just go before park close anyway 30 min wait ive seen 45 mins and theres no way id say its worth it
    Heres the trick ride pooh tea cups little mermaid buzz aladdin thunder dumbo barn stormer carousel small all within the last two hrs especially that last 45 mins theyre always dead empty

      Formal MK custodial cast member here and I can confirm you are right. Go during fireworks or right at park close. The closing time is meant for when the line closes NOT when the park truly closes. When I worked Main Street closing shift, I would always see the final guests coming from underneath the castle from rides like Pan and Seven Dwarves as late as 2am sometimes if there were extended hours.

    Hi! Former Navi River Journey Attractions Cast Member here 2022! (before I got moved to custodial at MK) Yes. It isn't worth it. We were trained to exaggerate the wait times just to drive people away but it never helped. Lightning Lane made it 10x worse especially because management didn't want people actually booking it despite purchasing the package. I learned Spanish just to help non English speaking guests and was booted from the team as a result. Not all teams are like this in WDW (safari crew had FANTASTIC management just next door) but the Navi management definitely does NOT help with the guest experience and wait there. They preach efficiency but make the waiting experience SOOO much worse than it needs to be compared to other rides.

      If our daughter is with us, Lightning Lane only. I'm not gonna make a four yr old wait in a 90 minute line. Not because she'll have a bad time, because I'm not willing to subject myself or those around us to that torture.

    Seven Dwarfs would be my main omission too, but I'm also starting to think Rock n Roller coaster isn't worth it. It's often a big queue - and the single rider is often terribly slow too - and the ride suffers from downtime quite a bit - I feel like it's an old coaster that's got pretty rough and has just been dressed up with some theming. If there was a more modern thrill coaster in the park it would quickly look a very poor option in comparison, save the literal headache and go ride something else!

  • @declanmckenna6854
    @declanmckenna6854 6 місяців тому

    Hontestly i dont think any Disney ride is really worth the wait anymore. The parks are suffering from a lapse in maintenance and an over reliance on lower quality effects and theming. Now that a single day ticket is around 200 any wait that is longer than 20min becomes a loss in return. The total ride time of all the attractions in all of WDW (not just one park) is around 2.5-3 hours that means you are waiting in queue the equivalent of 33% of the entire ride time across 4 entire parks for a ride that makes up less than 1% of that ride's individual contribution to the total ride time. And if its something that you find unimpressive or unintersting with little to no reride value well that is a huge chunk of your day just gone. The average person may only get 5 or 6 total rides out an entire day so that entry ticket of 200 means each ride is about $40 so you have to ask yourself is that ride experience worth that dollar amount.

    • @Guide2WDW
      @Guide2WDW  6 місяців тому

      You make some good points, and I think Disney needs to focus on the value proposition of their tickets more by making the guest experience excellent (maintenance and quality of effects/show is part of that).
      However, I personally get more out of my time at Disney than *just* the time on the rides - the atmosphere, the food, the sounds, even some of the queues. There's a ton of value there beyond just the time actually spent on rides (by the way, I'm curious, does that 2.5-3 hour time also include shows?)

    2. Pixar film festival: I understand the argument that you can see the shorts outside of the parks so this one is just a personal take but as someone that loves animation having the opportunity to watch 3 really well done shorts that being out emotion and laughter in an immersive environment with lighting and vibrations and such it’s worth the 10 minutes of my day
    3. Slinky dog dash (sorta): I agree that the wait for this is absurd and should probably average around 30-40 minutes max however again a personal one because I don’t really do much at studios as I can’t ride rockin, tower of terror, or smugglers run so instead I choose to wait the absolutely awful 80-90 minutes to get some slight thrill at that park although it’s always iffy

That was the one ride in any of the parks that I said I would do at least once. We ended up standing in line for the never avatar ride instead. It was fine, cool but pretty underwhelming in my opinion. I had to force someone to stay with me past park hours to get in line for the river adventure and STILL wait over an hour 😭 but it was 100% worth it.
